Sunday Funday: Pregame Meal
#31

Sami Owens pre-game ritual includes eating a McDouble. Why a McDouble? It is delicious and yummy while also being a pretty good price and not too bad calorie wise. It is his guilty pleasure he likes to eat before every game as it gives him loads of energy and makes him play good.

Because Mafs hails from the middle of no where in Wales, most of the meals he grew up on are obscure to outsiders, but to him it's nothing less then an important staple of his daily life. His favorite meal growing up was Alligator scrotum with a pinch of lime and salt. Therefore, before every game he fires up the slow cooker, tosses in that scaly sack into the cooker and bang bang, pre game meal.

Louie Garrett's meal of choice before a game is a burrito from Chipotle. He always goes for double steak with the hot salsa. Really helps to load him up before the big game.

Geoff Moore prefers a good ol' Murican meal before his games, he usually starts off with a Big Mac and a side of small fries, a large coke and 2 slices of pepperoni pizza, He washes it all down with a strawberry milkshake.

When at home: Chinese Food is a common pre-game meal for Light as it is easy to digest

When away: Whatever the coaches make him eat at the hotel, which usually ends up being boring chicken & pasta because that's the "ideal" pre-game meal as per sports nutritionists all over the world.

Fairly boring really, pasta and meat with some bread. Get that in your system, rest for bit and you are good to go and should not run out of fuel too easily!

Kastrba will eat pretty much anything you put in front of him before the game, for a smaller guy he can really put it away. as for a pregame ritual he usually likes to feed Skalbergs (@Ashes ), his right wing line mate, dish after dish of pucks. sometimes Eriks will let Kastrba clean up after him but only after he’s had his fill.

Pregame meals are pretty simple for Loks have a ton of rice and chicken 3-4 hours before game and then before the initial warmup drink a sugary drink and an energy bar for extra boost.

Jordan keeps it simple. Chicken and rice, with some green beans. Occasionally he'll have some salmon instead, but he's very focused on his eating habits. That being said, he'll always have a beer to go along with it.

The Augment sits alone in the film room with a chicken parm hero and some garlic knots about 60 minutes before each game looking over the team he’s about to impose his will on.

Before games, Ēriks Skalbergs usually eats some uncooked potatoes that have just been dug out of the ground to channel his inner Latvian energy (before really tough games he sometimes throws in a few rocks), and then he eats a few pucks that his teammate David Kastrba (@hewasajazzman ) feeds him. Noone knows how he hasn't died yet.

Gary Grease's pregame meal is a couple of hotdogs with no toppings. He likes them plain.

Logan’s pregame meal is to spark a blunt then get chicken wings and a brew at a local bar and party with the towns people

Artemi Berezin has a very odd choice of pre game meal, well for North American's, but in Russia, liquor ball sandwiches washed down with some watermelon infused vodka, that's just a normal meal for an athlete.

Kata Vilde pays homage to his father the Macho Man Randy Savage by snapping into a box of Slim Jims before every game. Need a little excitement? Snap into a Slim Jim! Ohhh Yeaahhhhhhh!
