i dont think he's suggesting that, i think his question is more directed more at clarifying that a) the evidence was presented to HO by a third party b) there isnt overreach into personal accounts based on HO members own fruition.
it's still fuck nazis but i think the clarification isnt unreasonable to ask for

edit: based on the language of the punishment announcement, its a safe assumption, but trust but verify is important

In that case I don't know how much clearer to make that than the first post in this thread already does.

"Head Office was alerted to the fact that the user had been displaying some troubling nazi symbolism on their personal accounts. While it had always been HO's stance to avoid investigating issues that happen outside of the league, the nature of these allegations prompted all five commissioners to investigate further."

What question is there here that this doesn't already answer?

i did edit my post to acknowledge the language of that post suggesting it was third party, i think i made the edit while this was being entered.

I’m simply saying if the user did not break any rules pertaining to the community how can we punish them. If they express Nazi sentiments in discord or to another user then sure ban them. Based on the post it sounds like that’s not the case. People aren’t born evil they learn it, several other users here have been given 2nd, 3rd chances to change and some have.

I suppose I'm just curious where you would draw the line on "what happens outside the SHL stays outside the SHL" then. If someone had murdered someone, would that be enough? If they'd called one of our members heinous slurs and plastered hate speech in another sim league, would that be close enough? Or do we have to draw a hard line that if it didn't happen on our forums or in our discord servers, it doesn't concern us, no matter what it is?

The decision becomes a lot easier for HO when the guy himself discloses yes thats me I'm the nazi guy and obviously he's a piece of shit who deserved the boot but if he just denied it being him entirely would it come down to him having to directly do something punishable in the SHL circle?

I’m trying to imagine what other accounts would be looked at in any case, not specifically this one. Facebook? Twitter? Reddit? Other discord servers?

Where *is* the line drawn?

Obviously this guy seemed to presumably “own” being a nazi and then it’s easy boot but like what would happen if they didn’t?

Yea nazis are bad, but unless there was an actual rule broken this seems like an overreach. Instead of the user interacting with our community and possibly having a change of opinion, they were banished and left to wander their other echo chambers.

I for one am in support of HO being preventive in protecting our users rather than reactionary. If there is overwhelming evidence and the user in question even admits to it or shows no remorse I see zero reasons why they should be allowed to stick around until someone is hurt. Because then it becomes "Well you already knew he was a Nazi, so why didn't you do anything before?".

The fact is these types of people aren't just walking around being racist and supremacist all the time. I grew up in a house with racists and they don't just walk around talking about minorities all the time. It usually doesn't come bubbling up until a minority does something that somehow offends them, and then comes out all the slurs and hateful stereotypes and a belief that they're lesser just because they're different.

So I for one cheer HO for stepping in before it overflows rather than waiting until a user gets hurt to respond.
