Started off fast. But a combination of uninteresting individual stats, inactive GM's, strict rules, and more ultimately led to it's demise.

4 might be boring but it would have at least kept things active.

Better sim engine too. I don't care if it would be more complicated or if it costs money, Football Manager would have been better.

This. And recruiting on reddit, ea forums, etc instead of just the SHL. I think a soccer sim can be successful, there's a huge soccer fan base obviously. Sim is the biggest problem tho.

Yeah I think there's still potential, we just need a new approach.

No but judging by playing OOTP, EHM and FHM I could only imagine the potential there.
