07 is the closest I can think of (In the most recent era anyways) and that I don't even think qualifies seeing as it was kinda Getzlaf's coming out party. Even though he was the 2nd line center to Andy Mac.
That was back when Andy was a god though, 78 points in 82 games plus he won all the faceoffs. :D

But, Devils had Brodeur/Rafalski/Niedermayer/Stevens
That's what I was thinking as well. Decent centres in Gomez and an old Nieuwendyk but I would say neither was truly that number #1 guy.
I'd deal him for Hamilton straight up. I don't think Hamilton is gunna fit here tbqh, I'm probably one of few Flames fans that still support him despite his bad play. But I don't think he's fit with Hartleys style of play and needs a change again before he has no value at all

I never thought Hamilton was a great defenceman on the defensive side of the puck and the Flames seem to spend more time defending which exposes his flaws. If he plays for a team with strong forwards that drive possession he would look good imo.

We've actually improved dramatically last 3-4 games(ducks game was fine till the 3rd) he's still looked awful and lost. I always knew he was more offensive oriented, but I didn't realize how bad he was on defense untill this year

Cody Franson 2.0?
Might very well be, though I'm shocked he is this bad. He was a decent(not amazing) defender in juniors. I know that takes little stock in juniors, but still

That could just be low confidence, it's a small sample size. He's young and he has all the tools to be a good/great top 4 defenceman and I'm sure he can figure it out in Calgary.

Tyler Myers is a better comparison for him, both are big and can skate and are more two-way than offensive but lack consistency.

unless Monahan, Hudler, and Johnny can figure things out, I dont think so, if he was left handed I think Dallas would be doing everything to get him

I think those guys are doing fine it's the rest of the team that needs to catch up. If Dallas wants Dougie they are going to be asked give up an arm and a leg and maybe their torso. Not only will Calgary not give up on him after 22 games they paid a high price to bring him.

We paid a mid first and that was the highest his values been at this point in time lol.
Also the teams offense has been fine, its our play away from the puck that has left something to be desired.
