The Scott Stevens trophy goes to the best all-around defenseman in the league.

Your honorable mentions include:

Adam Barron of Stars @charlieconway
Karlstrasse Scholz of Blizzard @karlssens

Alex Petrenko of pride @traphag
and
Samuel Michaud of Steelhawks @golden_apricot

Our production budget ran out, so no nice words from me. Go look at their seasons; they were good, but just short of our finalists. Congrats to you all for performing well!

And the S59 finalists are....
Stampede Augustus Wang @Ferda Stampede
19-49-68, +55, 12 PPP, 317 SOG, 22:54 TOI, 3:33 special teams time, 33 TkA, 96 SB, 56 hits
Wang was an offensive force of nature, leading all league defensemen with 68 points and 19 goals. Whatever you think of purely offensive defenseman, Wang silenced all his detractors with an outstanding campaign.
syndicate Disisde Dayudie @"JAJA SWEG DINGDONG" syndicate
15-34-49, +73, 2 PPP, 227 SOG, 20:52 TOI, 2:14 special teams time, 37 TkA, 115 SB, 152 hits
Dayudie may not have had the offensive season of his fellow finalists, but he still finished 5th in league scoring while seeing minimal powerplay time. His 5-on-5 product was very impressive, putting him right alongside players like Jazz and Wang. He also played heavier defensive minutes for the Syndicate, leading to very strong defensive results and incredible advanced stats.
Steelhawks Hugh Jazz @Hallsy Steelhawks
19-43-62, +69, 13 PPP, 267 SOG, 21:19 TOI, 26 TkA, 100 SB, 131 hits
Jazz was second in blueline scoring with 62 points, and tied Wang for the league lead with 19 goals. He also stuffed the defensive stat sheet with 100 blocked shots and 131 hits. He was the major play mover on the backend for the league’s best team, and landed with a nice +69.

Next up, an award that isn't at all controversial, the Joe McKeil, recognizing the best coaching.

Your honorable mentions went to the Buffalo Stampede Stampede for doing Buffalo things and having the league's 2nd best record, the Western Conference's best Texas Renegades Renegades, and the Seattle Argonauts Argonauts. Don't ask me, I didn't nominate 'em.

Your finalists:

Minnesota Monarchs Monarchs – 30-34-2, 62 points (10th)
164 GF (14th), 226 GA (11th), -62 goal diff (12th)
Improvement from S58: +9 points (53>62)

Minnesota was expected to be a bottom feeder and also-ran team heading into S59; their talent level did not match up to the rest of the Northwest Division, or the league at large. Despite that, they found a way to compete for a large portion of the league well above what their roster’s TPE indicated they should have. While some found their strategies controversial and unconventional, they rode a hot goalie late into the playoff hunt.

Hamilton Steelhawks Steelhawks – 56-9-1, 113 points (1st)
308 GF (1st), 145 GA (2nd), +163 goal differential (1st)
Improvement from S58: +10 points (103>113)

Hamilton had, quite literally, a season for the ages. They set a new league record with 113 points and were a dominant team. The coaching, yet again, found the way to best utilize their personnel, on their way to dominant seasons from Aaron Wilson and Theo Morgan. The defending S58 champions fell short in the playoffs, but that doesn’t take the shine off a historic season.

Chicago Syndidate syndicate – 49-15-2, 100 points (3rd-T)
264 GF (4th), 151 GA (3rd), +113 goal diff (4th)
Improvement from S58: +12 (88>100)

After S58, Chicago’s faithful were disappointed. They finished sixth in the league, but were on the outside looking in of the stacked Great Lakes Division. They casually opened S59 with a 19-0-1 record on their way to a 12-point improvement (with pretty much the exact same roster as the season before).

This one was fairly close! All three teams got at least one vote in each of 1st, 2nd, or 3rd. Congrats on all your seasons, regardless of the expectations you or the community set for you.

The S59 McKeil goes to, by an 8-vote margin, the Hamilton Steelhawks! Steelhawks

Congrats @Hallsy @golden_apricot @aaronwilson @dmills3 and whatever evil voodoo you got going on behind the scenes.

Next up is the Lance Uppercut. Yes, that is uppercut, as in the thing some of you might want to do to me right now. It's also the award for the Best General Manger duo for the season.

I said this wasn't going to go @fishy hosting levels of spicy. Maybe it will.

Our honorable mentions are as follows:

Los Angeles Panthers (@FuzzSHL & @TheDangaZone)
Hamilton Steelhawks (@Hallsy and @dmills3)
Texas Renegades (@puolivalmiste & @RedCapeDiver)
Edmonton Blizzard (@Keygan & @boom) -- Sorry, but quitting means you get none @"TommySalami". Boom shall take your momentary glory!

And now for our finalists!

Argonauts Seattle Argonauts – @notorioustig and @grok Argonauts
This team made bold trades to improve their roster, including signing top free agent Michael Scarn to center their top ine. Used the roster squeeze to turn Zdenko Baranek, a 3rd round pick, and cap space into a twp firsts, forward Juni Panda, a second, and goalie Peter Ramsey, and then flip Panda for a 3rd rounder. This duo showed they aren’t afraid to make big moves to improve their roster and stockpile assets, and it paid off with Seattle’s first playoff appearance.

Stampede Buffalo Stampede - @WannabeFinn and @Tomen Stampede
This team has consistently been one of the best in the league, and made another infuriatingly savvy move for expansion, acquiring future Philadephia Forge player Rex Kirkby from Atlanta as a rental for their Challenge Cup finals run. This allowed them to buy an expansion protection slot as well.

pride San Francisco Pride - @Thatguy91 and @AgentSmith630 pride
Another team that was unafraid to make deals. They acquired defenseman Alexander Oscarsson from New England and forward Mats Marner from Calgary. While the Marner trade may have turned out less well than they’d hoped in hindsight, the team has steadily been building from the dark ages of burning it down, lifetime albatross contracts, and a near death cap penalty for backup goalie mishaps. They also drafted pretty well—Viktor Zukal and Fedor Sotakov are top 40 earners in the class while first round pick Miguel Hefeweizen ranks 3rd in the S59 class.
