Random idea.
ArGarBarGar how about just postingredients jndividual game threads? Eliminates time on pbp (if that time is still a thjng) but there can still be room for discussion on individual games. Better environment for po rivalry than the index threads

We will all need to see that to believe it.
The fact ho didn't figure out they could move shit around to save a whole week actually gives me less faith Smile)
Anyways w/e i find it comical how defensive you always get.
I'm glad most people picked up the satirical nature of the thread, little faith in shl restored.[/b]

Assuming the typo was just "posting", I have mentioned this before. Got a decent amount of pushback with people comparing that to the VHL and not wanting to become that. I get that to a point but I also think PBPs in their current form are not all that great and should be reworked in some capacity.

Yeahthat PGS are busywork and PbPs are barely read. They slow the league down so much and nobody really cares.

If we want to keep TPE rates similar to what they are now, we can just roll that TPE into other things that already exist.

Just felt like this last playoffs was the longest one yet.

We just need to not keep adding stuff. The amount of TPE given out when we rolled out the new update scale was fine, since that was the entire point of the new update scale.

Agreed. We also should get rid of some of the things added since then. (Change cap back to 30, remove pgs)

That's 25 tpe a season so 250 over a career before regression which is extremely significant imo

If we reduce PGS or PBPs then that should be fine.

I mean yeah one thing at a time. Imo pbps is the way to go because it solves two problems. Inflation and long af post season

I'm still of the opinion that the problem isn't offseason length per-se, but the season-to-offseason ratio. A 2-3 week offseason would be fine, if the season itself was longer. But if everyone who doesn't go to the conference finals basically spends 50% of his time here without seeing game action then that's a problem. That's the main issue with our current set up where we basically have 3-4 week regular seasons, 2 week playoffs and 2-3 week offseasons.

Sure, I would love for the offseason to be shorter but the past has shown that this is quite a tough thing to accomplish. Other leagues like the SHL and the SMJHL have shorter offseasons but they also are much smaller than the SHL and have less of an emphasis on offseason recruiting, draft hype and free agency, so there isn't as much offseason work to be done there. Maybe we'll be able to cut it back by a week or so, but I wouldn't count on it. Now I know that simply expanding the regular season doesn't necessarily solve the problem and might create new issues, but I think it's something that we should at least take a close look at.

And regarding JayWhy's role in this: I understand some of the frustration to be honest, sometimes he disappears for a few days during the off-season or even between playoff rounds without much notice and that can be frustrating for everyone who needs his input for future scheduling or who just wants to see the sim results. BUT JY has earned that right by giving us reliable regular season simming for seasons now with games being consistently simmed every day. Being a simmer is the hardest and probably the most thankless job in the league and if we want someone to give us reliable regular season simming, then we need to let him recharge his batteries in the off-season. Although a little less snark when bringing this topic up with him would indeed be nice sometimes Wink

Yeah, Seattle hasn't seen a game played since May 19th... closing in on a month.

I'd agree to remove PbPs and gonthe more efficient VHL system, that way there are still individual threads up to talk shit and generally carry more interest,
