The rest of the league doesn't see that though for the most part. Most still see him as the power forward that can change their franchise. He shouldn't be a hard piece to get a decent return on, except for his limited ntc which would likely cause some issues.

It like to see boston use its first + lucic to move up with a team like Arizona. Then have your pick in the top 5

Ehhh, I can't imagine a team would make such a large investment in a guy without performing due diligence. I don't think you can just hide years of repeated consistency issues. Then again, maybe I'm giving teams too much credit. But I still think Lucic would command something similar to what the Bruins gave up for Horton. Basically a mid to late first round pick, maybe slightly more in value.

Why would Arizona want Lucic?

All I know is Lucic will be a good barometer of Sweeney's ability to GM this team. Maybe he can't move him, fine. But extending him at anything much above $5 million per year would be a disaster. Even around $5 million would be highly questionable. Hell, if I had to make the decision right now, I'd let him walk if he wanted more than 4.5. With the money invested in a regressing Chara, Krejci's absurd contract, and the money Hamilton should rightfully get, it's just not worth throwing all that money at a player who can't even play at a top six level consistently.
