S79 PT #2: Person's Best Friend Due: Sunday, October 27th @ 11:59 PM PST

I am picking Written Option #1

Our team mascot is going to be a woodpecker not because it would relate to the team in anyway but because I would love to see how the GM would handle it. I would name it Frita and every time it came near the GM, it would rest on their head and just peck away right on top of the GM's head. Our GM would do their best thinking when Frita was on top of their head just pecking away...They wouldn't even stop Frita from pecking, they would just have to sit and take it, all day long. Frita would become a well-loved asset to the Platoon. Before every game, Ricer would make sure Frita was there... Then every time a goal was scored in our favor, Frita would peck on Ricer's head. Oh, I almost forgot, Frita would be taken care of by Kochese and Bernard would always make sure that Frita was the center of attention in the locker room.

Let's go Platoon, we got this!!

The most important members of the non coaching staff for Yuri Boyka III are his nutritionist and personal trainers. Boyka III's nutritionist is none other than his highschool friend from Moscow. The two have always been close to one another and this is why Boyka III was excited to have him as the nutritionist. The friend makes sure Boyka III's eats the best food since the saying "You are what you eat" is very true. The nutritionist allows Boyka III to reach his peak performance when he trains and also helps him maintain his health at optimized levels. He is a crucial staff member for Boyka since his diet is essential to maintain a strong mental focus and also accelerates recovery. Personal trainers are also very important to Boyka III as they help him maintain peak physical form. This is done through daily weight training and cardio. Boyka III's favorite form of cardio is swimming as it activates everything. His personal trainer is none other than his dad since he was a former SHL legend himself. Boyka Senior ensures that Boyka III gets the required training so that he is always ready for battle on the ice.

With Buffalo being the Stampede and our mascot being an actual buffalo I think the idea here is obvious. We have a buffalo mascot and a Buffalo calf as our team pet. Like how Georgia has many Uga the X bulldogs, we have a Buffalo pet in that aspect that comes to games and can be pet by children. Once it starts to get too big, we donate it to a local farm who has use for an animal of that size or donate it to the national park service who sets it free or turns it over to the local zoo. The team pays a zoologist and an animal wrangler to keep tabs on and take care of the animal for the team and on days when the team is not at home it takes up residency at the Buffalo Zoo. That way not only can the team enjoy the animal and have a mascot but the people of Buffalo can enjoy it as well even if they don't like hockey.

For Dejana Kaptina, the most important staff members in Quebec City are the ones that specialize in her areas of strength. As the team's main penalty killing forward, she's practically attached to the hip to the PK coach. As for the rest of the coaching staff, she's generally on good professional working terms with them, but doesn't really interact with them more than necessary due to her more introverted nature. With other, non-coaching members of the staff, she likes and trusts the equipment staff as she always needs her gear done a certain way that she's familiar with, and they do an excellent job at it. The medical and training staff doesn't see her super often, as she has her own training that she does along with a personal trainer back in Switzerland in the offseason. Dejana is just kinda a head-down, stay-focused individual that just wants to play the game.

Written Prompt 1

So when the task of finding a pet to be the mascot of the Seattle Argonauts was given to rookie AT-AT Wøllker, he was not sure what to do at first. It was easy to do when he was a rookie in Great Falls, all he had to do then was go in a forest and steal a grizzly cub from its mother. No problem there. But what kind of animal would represent an Argonaut? AT-AT did a google search and the closest thing he could come up with that fit was an 'Argonian' from Skyrim. They are a reptilian people maybe more amphibious because they can breathe underwater too. Anyway that's not the point. The Argonians were lizardy people and so AT-AT went to the pet store to buy a lizard that could be kept in a cage in the locker room. But when he got there he was happy to find a great big reptily thing that the shop owner said was a komodo. AT-AT fell in love and immediately bought it. He named it Go-Go the Argo Komodo and he can often be seen walking it around on a leash by the river in Seattle. Lots of rats down there, good eating for Go-Go. On game days, he takes Go-Go to the arena and lets it wander around the back halls. One time it almost got run over by the zamboni.

Jett Labyrinth makes sure to use all the resources around him to help improve on and off the ice. As a rookie in Newfoundland, Jett was pretty shy and didn’t like to bother the staff too much, but as time rolled on, he found himself making friends with some of the non-coaching staff. Jett is very superstitious with his equipment and needs his stick taped and skates sharpened the same way each time. He knew he needed someone he could trust to carry out his equipment related quirks so the head equipment manager was the first staff member he befriended. Their bond formed even more strong when Jett found out that he was also from Great Britain like him and they often then would reminisce about their shared homeland. As for the other staff members, Jett is very friendly with them and always tries to listen to their insights so that he can become the best player possible.

The Colorado Raptors have teamed with a group of well renowned scientists to create such a creature to inspire the team to greatness. This creature, of course, is none other than a bright blue velociraptor! This raptor has been given the name of Takk and will be let roam around the arena to hype of fans and inspire the players. Obvious precautions are taken to ensure no small children get gobbled up by the ravenous appetite of Takk. Each day, he is fed his fair share and then engages in training to try and cull the predatory nature of the creature. So far this season, only seven children have gone missing! And since no remains have been found, the Colorado Raptors can neither confirm, nor deny that it was Takk who spirited them away!

Player reaction to the creature is mixed. With some players thinking it’s kind of neat, and the vast majority thinking upper management has gone too far in their pursuit of science. But as they say in Dino Hockey, “Hockey, uhhhhhh, finds a way.”

Written Option 2:

It's no secret that our coaching staff is in fact important to getting us playing like a cohesive unit, but behind the scenes, our trainers, medical, and support staff are just as integral to our success.  Easton sure maximizes the use of the staff to his advantage, bringing out the best of himself.

As far as equipment management goes, Schaffer keeps it so simple.  White stick tape is the only mandatory thing he asks for on his stick.  Besides that, everything else is pretty standard for him.

The training staff is where he maximizes his energy.  A proper training program, coupled with effective warm-up and cool-down routines, keeps his playing condition in tip-top shape and, like the rest of the players in the league, keeps him injury-free.

Schaffer does take advantage of the team chef's cooking too.  He sure loves the protein and carb-rich diet plans they have in place, but when he's on his own, he sure loves his pizza and steak dinners.

Written Option 1:

The Great Falls Grizzlies...hm what animal could possibly inspire us to have as our mascot? I suppose we could go the alternative route and go for something obscure like whatever the frick Gritty is... or we could go for something more mainstream like a tiger. Whether scary or cuddly... is to be determined. We don't want to have a scary tiger that terrifies children, yet we don't want a weak little pussy cat mascot ether. I suppose at the end of the day... a scary tiger would not be best. Perhaps more of a Frosted Flake Tiger who just wanders around telling us we're all great whilst eating flakes that are frosted by something unnatural, yet delicious. You know, i could actually go for some frosted flakes right now... dang potential mascot Making me want cereal.

Oh and of course our mascot will forever be a Grizzly who roams the wilds and sleeps for months of the year. Who is even questioning this??

All off ice teams members are important. If Brayden Point had to pick the most important he would say the mental health team. Losing can be hard when there are fans and other team members who are counting on you to play at your best. Mental health is often forgotten about in the industry as it is all about the gain and what you can do to train. To Brayden Point mental health is more important that you are in the right head space and able to stay in the zone. It is important to listen to the mental health team and lower stress. The team offers guided meditation which is a personal favorite of Brayden Point. He aims to meditate at least a few times a week with the mental health team. Before games he does some breathing exercises to calm nerves. This is not to say he can't handle his nerves but that he wants to remain calm and collected before, during, and after a game.

Written option 2 :

First of all, our managers are key people in our organization. They're the blueprint for the work that they ''expect'' of everyone without putting too much pressure on anybody. But then, Maine has got a good amount of poeple supporting that are working ''in the shadows''. There is a group of equipment manager that are taking care and making sure that the gear of each and every player is in perfect shape for the games. We also have the best trainers and physios there could be. Since I'e joined, there hasn't been a single injury that had one of our players on the sidelines... LOL. Also, we have performance therapist to make sure that we're always in a good mindset throughout the year. They were very important at the start of this season since it was a ''tough'' and challenging start after being so dominant last year
