Where would you rank them oh wise JayTee? Because I literally just posted a link where about half of analysts picked them not to medal, and 20/23 picked them to go no further than Bronze?

If we are talking about teams on paper right now, you guys have better goaltending and defense the Russa, and look at Sweden's roster right now. Without Sedin and Zetterberg the US rosters looks better then Sweden as well. You guys had the 2nd or 3rd best roster coming in, obviously you guys weren't locks for a medal, nobody really is but to say it isn't a terrible result for this team is just flat out wrong.

I had little hope of getting a medal when they first announced the roster. The only thing I feel we really had great was goaltending. Even without Zetterberg. I think Sweden's got a better roster top to bottom. Even though we have better goaltenders since we have 2 great goalies, you can only play one and personally I think it's a wash between Hank and Quick, Offense wise Sweden has more playmaking players than USA does imo. Especially on an international level. Defense I don't think it's even close.
Russia, you're right, the defense on the USA was far superior, goaltending is a slight edge to US, both are talented goalies and Bobo can steal games just as much as Quick can. But offense there's more big game players on Russia imo, even though they obviously didn't show up, They have 3 of the top 5 players in the world imo in Malkin, Ovie and Datsyuk. Obviously Datsyuk wasn't 100% but on sheer roster talent I'd take Russia over America's roster in a tournament like the Olympics since their defense isn't awful, it's not good but it's not awful, and their offense on paper is phenomenal. So I stand by that they're 4th imo. But 3rd I think is arguable. Obviously the actual tournament turned out much different but on paper that's where I'd put them

No? Their team was decent, they were the 4th best country roster wise in the world imo, and they finished 4th in the world. So not sure how that equates to not being good.

If the Americans would have won, it would have been a whole different story
Not really, I fully expected them to lose from the beginning as was said two days before they played Canada in which I expected them to get dominated most of the game  I didn't have much faith in this team from the beginning. I think they had the talent to beat the Finnish team today, I didn't watch the game so I don't know how they actually played, but given the score I'm assuming similar to how they played against Canada which is awful

They just gave up, shouldn't have even showed up.

Yeah I figured given the score they just kinda mailed it in. They had the talent to beat the Finnish team imo. I think the Finnish roster is quite a bit less talented than the American team, but they certainly had more heart

Lol @ forsberg whining, nationality of officials really should make no difference, take the best refs for most important games

imo if you are gonna complain about the refs before the games you are just looking for an early excuse because you know your team is gonna lose.
