1. This reality is just one of infinite realities existing alongside this one in parallel. Take us over to one of those realities in which everything is the same but these S53 playoffs have unfolded differently. What happened in that reality's playoffs and who's in the Challenge Cup over there?
In the first round, the Buffalo Stampede took on the Hamilton Steelhawks again. Instead of a sweep, the Stampede called up future star Elizabeth Doyle to backstop them after falling down 2-0, heading back home. Eli Doyle stood on her head with back to back shutouts at home, and then narrowly lost a tight 4-3 game in Hamilton. Monkey D. Luffy was the star of Game 6, scoring two goals while Doyle made 36 saves to tie the series up 3-3. In Game 7, Doyle was a woman possessed, stealing a win on the road to send the Stampede into round 2. Manhattan battled for six one-goal games, but still fell short versus New England. New Orleans got called for cheating and were disqualified for Games 1 and 2. They fought hard, but fell in 5 to the enraged Panthers. Edmonton and Calgary went the same as in our world. In Round 2, Ola Wagstrom was good, but Eli Doyle was better. She made 97 saves in the first three games, taking a 2-1 lead into Game 4. Luffy again flexed his muscles, having assists on all three Stampede goals as Buffalo took a commanding (and unexpected) 3-1 lead back to Boston. NEW won Game 5 convincingly, but failed to find an answer to Doyle at home. In her first six home playoff starts, Doyle was 6-0 with a 0.947 SV% and a 1.833 GAA. The Stampede go to the Finals! There, they faced the dominant Edmonton Blizzard, coming off a sweep of LAP. The teams battled back and forth, with 4/6 games going to overtime. Doyle battled fiercely as the Stampede pushed the Blizzard, but were unable to pull out the final upset. Despite losing, Doyle went 10-4-2 with a 0.929 SV% and a 2.12 GAA to capture the playoffs MVP Even though the Panthers fell short this season, the LA influence has been felt around the league and execs in Hollywood are paying more attention to the SHL with the hometown team making waves. If your player could have a cameo in any tv show or movie, what show/movie would they choose? (for the purposes of this PT you may choose a show/movie that already exists just uhhh pretend they re-shoot it with your cameo or something idk). Elizabeth Doyle would love to make a cameo in the popular TV show “Dr. House”. She always liked the show and had an admiration for the doctor. She would love to be an intern in the show. Not one that will stay a long time, but most likely someone who will stay a few episodes to learn from the best doctor in the world. Any case would be pretty amazing to play. Eli Doyle know this is all fiction, but it’s always fascinating to see the medical cases and the development of the investigation. She would like her character to go off the series by becoming sick after and get the investigation done on her. This would allow her a out due to the fact she would not be able to continue to work while recovering. She always liked to see the doctors going around the patient and performing all the tests and such. 13. Written, up to 4 TPE Pick up to 4 Challenge Cup related topics to write about! Each topic is worth 1 TPE. Each answer must be 50+ words to qualify. a. Tony Pepperoni is probably the best player in this series. The center played 17 games in total and had more than a point per game. He’s the only player in the finals that had more than a point per game. I think this is rather exceptional, especially with a shooting percentage of only 7%. b. Strenght and Balance would be the most important thing to check in this game. All of the Hamilton Forward have at least 15 in them and it shows. You knock them out of their skate and steal the puck. This mean you have more chances to score since you always have the puck. c. Tony Pepperoni, Robert Phelps, Barrett Blackwood would be my picks as forward as they were the best on the ice. Gabriel Johnson and Karlstrabe Scholz are my pick at defense, a bit for the same reason that they were the most amazing on the ice. While Tuck played amazing, I’d pick Geezus Kryyst to represent my team as the goalie as he was a workhorse. d. Honestly, I live in Canada. In Quebec to be exact. There’s absolutely no way I would survive the winter if I didn’t at least tolerate the snow. I can’t say I LIKE the snow per say, but I wouldn’t say I hate it either. It’s known of a little brother you learn to deal with. 16. CW TRIVIA ayooooooo "17. Affiliate PT" http://nsfl.jcink.net/index.php?showtopi...t&p=297973 16/16 TPE

Tony Pepperoni has my vote for best player on the ice in the finals. He's leading in points, has an 80 in offensive game rating--putting like everyone to shame--and isn't a puck hog, claiming 15 assists, which is nice to see in the finals. He helps make things happen and with not more than six penalty minutes in the entire playoffs so far. Sure he gets a lot of ice time, but he deserves it. WC: 75 d. Blizzard... snow... ok debate time - do you like snow? yes or no? why or why not? I do not like snow. As someone who is around it enough of the year, I used to smile and be happy when it snowed, to see the Earth covered in a sheet of fluffy white stuff, but no more. It means it's going to be cold, and people don't know how to drive on the snow, and also, I'm too old to really be sledding, so what's the point. I am happier when the ground is green. No to snow. I think the TPE will matter more, with one season in the books everyone is looking towards the champs for what works. Hamilton blasting through both Buffalo and New England (which both have pretty significant TPE lead on the champs) should be somewhat a point towards how teams will preform. Hamilton, New England, Buffalo and Manhattan will be the power houses in the east, all of the four teams sports very competitive teams with great earners in all positions. The biggest riser in this group will most likely be Manhattan which had a pretty weak season. Chicago should be the underdog and the dark horse of the east and might pull an upset to push out the other four teams. In the west it's a little more dicey. There's two teams that stand out and that's Edmonton and San Francisco. Both teams fields very competitive rosters that should be able to compete with the east power houses. 3. Written, 2 TPE (100 words min.) Tig Murphy is my bet. The trusty defender of the Hamilton Steelhawks are bound to have another smashing season. I have no doubt in my mind that Murphy is bound for the Hall of Fame after his career and another award would just solidify it. Being on Steelhawks is also a guarantee for success, with great coaches being able to push the most out of their players. Murphy shows dedication both on ice and off ice and that will reward him in the long run. Now if only he would get some more ice time it wouldn't even be a question of if, but when. 4. Written, 3 TPE (150 words min.) I think there's lots of potential new awards, both for defenders and forwards. The first one I'd suggest adding is awards for leagues best power play and penalty kill player, both of these forms being an important aspect of teams success. Which player lifted their teams power play to the next level? In real life there's loads of players that's excellent when given a little extra space and so it would seem to be here as well. Same goes for Penalty kill, the guys who eat the rough minutes and do so without complain, they deserve a little extra recognition. The second one I'd suggest would be the best equal strength forward and defender. Not all great player play on the Power Play or Penalty Kill unites but still manages to put up great seasons, Eko Van Otter and Viktor Marius being great examples on star players with very little impact on the Power Play. It would be great to see recognition for their contributions to the teams 5. Written, 3 TPE (150 words min.) IIHF will be an absolute shit show in my opinion, with it at best being a pit stop during the off season I can't say I'm more excited about it with the addition of FHM. I have no idea who plays on what nation, all I know is that Hippo plays for Sweden and we're pretty decent. I think Ireland has seen it's glory days and there's probably another power nation rising to dominate. Now I might be particularly negative, I'm not even in the IIHF locker room of my team. I think a fresh start would be great for IIHF in FHM, unlock all rosters and let players choose which team they want to play on. Let the GM's of the different nations pitch the players the want on their team and and build locker rooms they think will work. 14. Written, 2 TPE - The Procrastinator Special! (100 words min) I haven't followed the series at all, and since indivdual indexes for each game is hard to come by I'm going to go with the only player that's above PPG of the two final teams. Toni Pepperoni carried his team to the finals where it ended with a loss, but still. I don't think Edmonton would have went all the way if it wasn't for Toni Pepperoni leading the charge. Comparing scoring to Hamilton which spread out their scoring over all lines. Toni has been a forefront player for a while now and during the playoffs he manged to snatch the highest points total while only shooting at a 6.85%. Impressive That would make IIHF something more then the current dull event it is right now. 16. CW TRIVIA, 3 TPE max - 1 TPE for participation, 0.5 TPE for each correct answer. awhergawhegr RETIRED

This reality is just one of infinite realities existing alongside this one in parallel. Take us over to one of those realities in which everything is the same but these S53 playoffs have unfolded differently. What happened in that reality's playoffs and who's in the Challenge Cup over there? I have traveled mysteriously into a new realm, somewhere where Hamilton did not win the Challenge Cup, where they never exploited STHS. This place is strange and surprisingly similar to ours. I walk the deserted streets of what looks to be Winnipeg and notice flyers all over the place. Apparently the SHL finals are taking place and everyone around the world has traveled to see them. As I examine down the flyer I come across the two teams battling it out. My eyes widen, as shock starts to set it. I am familiar with the two teams playing, but it was odd to see this happening in the Challenge Cup finals. The teams were the Calgary Dragons, led by a grizzled Mike Izzy, and the St Louis Scarecrows. In this dimension, St Louis is so good they are moved into the big leagues while another team was sent down. I quickly Boobled (this dimensions "Google") who was sent into the minors and was shocked to see Seattle Riot's name mentioned. What a strange place this is. [176] 2. Written, 3 TPE (150 words min.) With everyone getting a free redistribution this offseason, S54 is quite wide open at the moment. Before those redistributions take place, who would you anticipate being the top team(s) for next season? I think we will not see much of a difference next season. The top teams are going to get better and the teams on the verge should be competitive. I think it is taking people time to adjust to FHM, which is not a bad thing. This engine is a lot better and the sims are way more exciting. Take from me, an ex-GM for the SMJHL, the simon sims were garbage and were literally over in two seconds. This builds excitement. My players loved getting the ping for streams. I liked the chirping going on during the stream, I could do without the spam and trolls but you take what you can get. I think now teams know how they have to build their lines and everyone should be better because of it. I know it took me most of the season to figure things out, but once I did things looked great. St Louis was a middle of the standing team that took Detroit (the number one seed by a landslide) to seven games. All because we figured out how to set lines to make things happen. [189] 4. Written, 3 TPE (150 words min.) With new tools at our disposal in FHM, we may eventually see some new awards enter the fold. Create a suggestion for a new SHL award. What kind of achievement is the award given for? Who's the award named after? Who would've won the award this season? This is a fun idea, a cool concept. Almost like you are doing the awards committees job by giving them ideas. Anyways, I think awards need a little change up this season. Their should be at least 2 awards for forwards and for defenseman. Offensive Forward, Defensive Forward, Offensive Defenseman, and Defensive Defenseman all should be a thing. I guess you could call the Two Way Forward award the defensive forward award, but to me it means something different. Awards for hitting should still be a thing. A take aways award would also be cool to see. Obviously top Goalie is the same, maybe it will be easy to tell how they good they played based on GR's and what nots now? I think a sportsmanship one should be include on this list. An award that is meant for the guy who played a ton of minutes, took zero to few penalties, while also putting up points. I guess that is the one I would want to add, Sportsman Award. Who I would name it after I wouldn't know where to look right now. [184] 13. Written, up to 4 TPE Pick up to 4 Challenge Cup related topics to write about! Each topic is worth 1 TPE. Each answer must be 50+ words to qualify. a. Who is the best player in this CC finals? Plenty of good candidates: Lagerfield, Phelps, Kryyst, McIntry, Pepperoni, Scholz, etc. Who's your choice for best player and why? Pepperoni is probably the best in the league, let alone this series. I am not a huge fan of Edmonton but you have to give respect to a player of his caliber. I believe he will be a top player for many seasons, and many playoff series. I look forward to playing him next season. (55) b. Based on player ratings, EDM has the advantage in speed and acceleration and HAM has the advantage in balance and strength. Which team's physical skills will give them the edge in this series? It took me awhile to learn this myself, speed is great but is useless if you fall over everytime you get touched. Balance and Strength wins this argument for me every single time. Grit will win this series, and if you check the index, it has. Speed has it's advantages, but you cannot solely rely on it to win a game. [61] c. Assemble your ideal fantasy team out of players in this series - F, F, F, D, D, G. Explain your choices. Tony Pepperoni, Robert Phelps, Barrett Blackwood, Gabriel Johnson, Tig Murphy, and Geezus Kryyst. A team that can score goals, defend like a mother fucker, and stop a puck. Can you imagine this line together? The unit would be unstoppable. I think i is pretty obvious I checked the points leaders and GR leaders when I made these picks, but these are also cool guys who play very well. [68] d. Blizzard... snow... ok debate time - do you like snow? yes or no? why or why not? I do. I love snow. I do not care how you feel about it, I love it. I love it a lot. I could go on and on and on and on and on about how much I love it, but why would I do that when you can just go outside and enjoy the snow we just received in Northern Michigan. Wanna go sledding in May? Now you can! I really do like snow, but everything has a time and place. [82] 16. CW TRIVIA - Verificartion Word: Specters

This reality is just one of infinite realities existing alongside this one in parallel. Take us over to one of those realities in which everything is the same but these S53 playoffs have unfolded differently. What happened in that reality's playoffs and who's in the Challenge Cup over there? The biggest 'what if' in our reality's version of the SHL finals was EDM sweeping LAP in round 2 to move on to the finals. That sweep included 4 one goal games, all going to OT, and 7 total OT periods in just 4 games played. Other realities didn't have such harsh coin flip odds for LAP. The Panthers win game 1's OT. As a result, they have a little bit of momentum going into game 2. Not much, but enough to just get them over the hump in another close, OT game. Now up 2-0 instead of down 0-2, they go to EDM where the Blizzard play hard at home, but once again this reality is nicer to LAP as they split the EDM games and take a 3-1 lead. Eventually moving on to the championship, they fair quite well against HAM. They were the only team with a better corsi in the regular season, and they translate that possession advantage into a close, 7 game series win. The cup heads to LA, where the Panthers party with celebs so hard in the offseason that the bender still affects them as next year's preseason starts up. [197 words, 3 TPE] 2. Written, 3 TPE (150 words min.) With everyone getting a free redistribution this offseason, S54 is quite wide open at the moment. Before those redistributions take place, who would you anticipate being the top team(s) for next season? Have to assume that a lot of what we saw this year will still carry over into next. In the east, I don't think NEW's roster will have much/any change, so I'd expect to see them to towards the top again. HAM rolled through BUF and NEW in the playoffs this year en route of their cup win, and they seem to be well known to test sim in FHM, so I think as long as they make the playoffs they should be able to compete against anyone regardless of their records. BUF was a strong team this year, and they've recently made trades that makes them immediately stronger next year. I'm also biased, but I think MAN will return next year significantly improved. I know some of their players are in the midst of regression, but they still have one of the highest total TPE teams, and seemed to just get unlucky goaltending this year. In the west, I think LAP, CGY, and EDM will build off their strong years this year to finish top of the conference, and I could see SFP making vast improvements as well. For similar reasons as MAN, they have a very high average TPE roster and under performed this year. [208 words, 3 TPE] 5. Written, 3 TPE (150 words min.) Just like everything else in S53, IIHF is going to be an exciting mystery for us all! We've seen the introduction of a new format (all 14 teams in one group) and it's bound to be a very exciting tournament. What are your predictions for IIHF this season? What team or teams do you think have the best shot at taking home the gold? How do you think your team will fare? I think that from what we've seen with the SHL and SMJHL seasons, FHM is far more beneficial to the best, highest TPE teams than Simon ever was. So when it comes to IIHF, we're going to see teams like USA and Canada have very strong teams that perform very well, and there will also be a tier of pretty strong teams like Sweden, Great Britain, Czechia, Germany etc just below them. It's easy to say it'll just be a USA/Canada gold medal game, but when you're not playing 7 games series like the playoffs, it'll be a lot more likely that one of those pretty strong tiered teams can manage the upset. As for my team, Finland, I think it may be another year that we have some struggles. We have a young roster that continues to get stronger, and may be good in a few tournaments down the road, but it would take some pretty big upsets for us to make a deep run. [167 words, 3 TPE] 12. 1) This reality is just one of infinite realities existing alongside this one in parallel. Take us over to one of those realities in which everything is the same but these S53 playoffs have unfolded differently. What happened in that reality's playoffs and who's in the Challenge Cup over there?
There are thousands of alternate realities out there but the one I saw had a crucial difference to the reality we know. The Manhattan rage roll up their sleeves, they get the job done and lift their second straight challenge cup in front of their home crowd in Madison Square Garden. There was no reason to believe that they couldn’t do it, sure they finished 4th in the division and were going up against the monsters of the east known as the New England Wolfpack but they had done the exact thing last time out. The Chicago Syndicate were a top team and Manhattan found a way to stick it out and win it all. All the cards seemed to be lining up for that reality as well. After going 3-0 down in the series, Manhattan would charge pack, winning both game 4 and 5. The reverse sweep looked like a reality until New England found a way to rally back in game 6. If Manhattan closes out that series, they go on to win it all. 2) With everyone getting a free redistribution this offseason, S54 is quite wide open at the moment. Before those redistributions take place, who would you anticipate being the top team(s) for next season? The free distribution will cause great shake ups in the league and a great potential of new kings to rise has emerged. I say that the Manhattan Rage, the New England Wolfpack and the Buffalo Stampede will be the three teams to see in the east. There is enough talent on all three teams that makes me believe it will happen that way though the east as an entire conference will be tough to call. Chicago could also make a run at that title but they are more likely a darkhorse candidate. In the west, its the Panthers that still stalk over the crown but both Edmonton and San Francisco also have a huge opportunity to strike. Edmonton in particular have already proven this year that they have the talent and players to go far enough to win now with this distribution, who knows what will happen to their fortunes. Too tight to call in the west 4) With new tools at our disposal in FHM, we may eventually see some new awards enter the fold. Create a suggestion for a new SHL award. What team or teams do you think have the best shot at taking home the gold? How do you think your team will fare? There is a team that has been slowly building their powerbase for a long time in the IIHF. A team that has had success elude them for so long due to a revolving carousel of moving parts. A team that always had potential to go far but was denied at every chance. Now though, a new era has dawned for them with the birth of the FHM era. New, young and hungry players have emerged to lead this country to a title and they want that power, that glory, that prize for themselves. To count the ways they have suffered would be too numerous to count. Overtime disappointments, finals apperances that went nowhere, early exits that only exacerbated player and coach frustrations. Their country demands a trophy and they are tired of waiting but now they have the team to go far. That team is Finland and with studs all around the ice, it's about time they took home a gold medal. 13. Written, up to 4 TPE Pick up to 4 Challenge Cup related topics to write about! In an alternate reality this season streamed ahead with the Rage maintaining their pace from last season and rocketing back into the finals off of a high TPE team that had a lot of promise. As a physical team, we would have run over the competition with out offensive depth and looked to be a dynasty going forward. NEW still being our main competitors and biggest rival we would have matched up again. After a close 7 game series, we would have taken game 7 with a one point margin going into the next series high on endorphins and completely putting our opponents to shame. From there we would have swept that series and gone into a final challenge cup battle against the Spectors so that I could face off against Michael Fox and Jimmy Slothface. This will be my goal every season until it happens. Sorry if this sounds repetitive. After another 7 game series, the last game goes into triple overtime where Phineas draws a penalty shot at the last minute, misses, and then scores on the next play after getting shamed by his teammates. Rage win. 2. This one is a bit of a mess, with different teams still figuring out roles and perfect lines I still see NEW being the top team of next season. They already have a proven ACE on the team who will be there to score goals for them no matter the situation. If they do some retooling to round out their defensemen and go into next season with even fewer game losses we could see one of the most dominant teams to emerge in the SHL for as long as I have been around. The second team will be everyone's favorite Hamilton. They came back out of the STHS era with something to prove and it showed in their results in FHM. Dominant early and in the late games, they were powerful on the puck and will only get better with one more season of age. Last but not least, Manhattan should be seeing a rise in their offensive power over the offseason resulting in a strong goal scoring depth this next season that will ricochet them out of their 50/50 game-winning average. Look for them to rise. 5. Looking towards the IIHF there can only be one dominant team and that will be the USA. We might be one season removed from glory but I have a feeling that with this new format there will no longer be a stronger and a weaker block. This will make it a bit easier for the USA who have been struggling in the dominant group since I began. While we had huge success in my SHL tenure we fell into hard times last season and look to recapture our former glory by preying on the other teams. I see the USA taking the top spot this year. USA or bust as I head the crowds saying. There will still be som struggles against the other top teams, but if things go the way I expect there will be a certain player on the USA roster that will herald in the golden era of international championship. 6. Why would I want to reinvent the wheel on the already best in show of an intermission game of toddlers playing and youngins playing on the ice for the enjoyment of the crowd. In order to really amp up the enjoyment, we would introduce two additional pucks to the battlefield and watch these little ones run around and try to figure out if they should defend or attack. Usually the problem with these games is the pace and the fact that no goals or action every really happens as the kids are too small and inexperienced. With three pucks there will be 3 times the action! Look forward to actually chanting for your favorite kiddo and maybe seeing a goal actually happen. To help improve these odds, we are adding walruses to both teams goals for the added benefits of throwing fish on the ice from the stands to rig the games. I for one would enjoy this added chaos to the finals matches. Code: 13. Written, up to 4 TPE Pick up to 4 Challenge Cup related topics to write about! Each topic is worth 1 TPE. Plenty of good candidates: Lagerfield, Phelps, Kryyst, McIntry, Pepperoni, Scholz, etc. Who's your choice for best player and why? Lagerfield is the player to look out for in this game. This oldy was recently tapped as the one of the best players in the league this season by a good friend of mine who analyzed that flacko has done more with less help on his line. Lets look for his flashy plays and grace. b. Based on player ratings, EDM has the advantage in speed and acceleration and HAM has the advantage in balance and strength. Which team's physical skills will give them the edge in this series? Speed and acceleration are key in this game I have out. I am giving the edge to EDM and we will see who will take it in the end. Balance and strength only help if your role needs those attributes and we do not expect everyone on HAM to be grinders or power forwards. d. Blizzard... snow... ok debate time - do you like snow? yes or no? why or why not? Snow all the way. You can eat it, pee in it, and make snowballs out of pee and throw them at your worst enemy. I mean before any redistribution and even after I'd expect the same teams to be the top ones yet again. I believe that New England and Hamilton will yet again dominate a fairly weak overall eastern conference along with the likes of Manhattan as well and probably Buffalo but those 2 a lesser extent then New England and Hamilton. On the western conference side I think Edmonton, Calgary, and Los Angeles will again be pretty strong overall and then New Orleans and San Francisco will be the ones yet again battling for that last playoff spot, though NOLA will be getting stronger overall moving into next season and should have a better season. After redistribution and everyone has had a season to get used to FHM I do think some of the standings will change around slightly but overall the top teams from both sides should stay the top teams as TPE discrepancy has a much bigger effect with FHM than it ever did with STHS. 166 words Code: 5. Written, 3 TPE (150 words min.) I think the move to FHM will probably affect IIHF more so than it did the SHL or SMJHL in that the top teams will be even more noticeable. Since IIHF generally has super teams much like Canada, USA, and Czechia with how they've been built recently. Those 3 should be clear cut favorites above the rest. They will be able to role 4 lines and 3 D pairs of high TPE players to help dominate the entire competition. The issue that I actually see from this is that the smaller nations are going to be absolutely decimated with the move to FHM now. It's very difficult for smaller nations to "rebuild" like an SHL team can through drafting and while they can bring in transfers that's not always an easy feat to be able to convince people to leave a nation or transfer in from unassigned. And I think it'll be even more so of a problem now with FHM to convince anyone to transfer to a nation that they have no chance of winning with for quite some time while you have to wait for more transfers over time. More so with a transfer limit. As for Ireland I expect us to get slaughtered because of the TPE differences between teams. It'll be like high end SHL teams beating down the tanking ones though the one's aren't trying to tank because there's no reward for that in IIHF. 240 words Code: 13. It's a tough choice to choose the best player in the final with so many great choices. While you could argue that stats could be the final determination I do believe that stats don't always tell the tale so to me the best player is Tony Pepperoni. He has all the tools and does so well all the time on top of that anyways. But he's also a great person so he has the all around it factor. B. Well as Hamilton has people that know the sim more than anyone else and they did win I'm going to go out on a limb and say the balance and strength advantage mattered the most. HAM was able to best many great teams on the way to their cup and I assume they had the better builds to be able to do it. C. F- Robert Phelps - Had a tremendous year on top of leading his team to a cup. Great all around leader on and off the ice. F- Tony Pepperoni - Also a great player overall and a great leader. Being able to be great on and off the ice is a big factor. F- Jean Paul Boivin - Might not have the overall stats of others but he's getting there and will continue to grow. He's a tremendous LR presence as well. D- Karlstrabe Sholz- Huge defensive presence with veteran leadership. D- Brady McIntyre - Been a huge Dman for a long time and knows how to come up big in big situations. Again that veteran leadership. G- Emiko Specter - Young guy who's hitting his peak and will be great for a while. D. I love snow. I live in a hot state that has seen "snow" like twice in my lifetime and while both times it definitely snowed it didn't even stick to the ground because it was still too warm. The few times I've been able to visit somewhere more northern in the winter and seen snow I've absolutely loved it. Though I guess the caveat is that I've never been in a huge snow storm or haven to drive in it so I guess those could change my mind. Code: 1. Written, 3 TPE (150 words min.) Well like most people who did not win the challenge cup I would love to imagine a timeline that did see New Orleans actually make it to the cup and win it. I think first things first would be a timeline that our coaches did not input illegal lines and one of our top Dmen did not have a bunch of illegal training's that absolutely screwed us in the end. In that time line we're actually able to figure out what works and get the right chemistry going to beat LAP and then EDM to make the finals. We did push LAP to 7 games even with a 370 tpe dman in for 5 of those games. I'd like to think what could have happened with us having a 1200 tpe dman instead. Then of course we'd probably go on to get beat by HAM in the finals because that's how it works. We also can't go to a game 7 against anyone or we're guaranteed to lose. Thus is the NOLA life. 174 words Code: 16. CW TRIVIA, 3 TPE max - 1 TPE for participation, 0.5 TPE for each correct answer. This is now completed through a Google form linked below. Again, I'll be siding with the team that broke our previous sim engine, and went on to win an absurd amount of games relative to their TPE rankings at the start of the season, and that's AWil and the Steelhawk boys. AWil is legit god-tier in SHL, dunking constantly on other good strategists such as Tomen, Manhattan, and others. +1, 59 words D. As a Canadian, I am appalled that anyone even likes snow. No, I do not like snow. I enjoy being warm, not cold, I enjoy being able to go outside and do activities such as going to the beach, golfing, etc. Snow prevents us from doing that, and should not even be considered likeable. The news is starting to spread that there is a virus likely originating from China that is spreading like wildfire and it has the potential to be a massive issue. We have many weeks to take precautionary measures but a sentiment that it can't spread here like it did in China is prevalent and the populace decides to do nothing and change nothing in their daily routine. Inevitably, and at the surprise of nobody educated in the subject, the virus strikes North America. All sports leagues are canceled, including the Simulation Hockey League. All play stops, and the standings remain unmoving for weeks. The players union and the league try to coordinate with health officials to come to a situation where the players are allowed to continue playing hockey, but no solution can be found. The playoffs are canceled and no champion is crowned. The cup remains in Manhattan for another season, collecting another layer of dust that will have to be wiped away before it is handed to a different team next season. Code: 6. Audiences sure were entertained when during the second intermission of game one of Hamilton vs Edmonton they were presented with the opportunity to play a fun game of "Cream on Johnson." Kids, women, and men alike gathered around to grab one of the complimentary cream pies baked by the arena kitchen staff and to try and get their cream pie onto Gabe Johnson's face, who was standing at center ice. Most people weren't able to aim their cream pie very well and ended up covering the ice with cream and pie crust, but a lucky few got their cream pie splattered all over Gabe Johnson's face and jersey - a few skilled participants even got their cream pie directly into Gabe Johnson's mouth! The idea had been floated around the Hamilton locker room weeks before the finals series was set to play, and Gabe was the first to volunteer and was jumping with joy at the opportunity to finally be covered in hundreds of cream pies, something he had wanted to experience for more than a decade now - since he saw videos of it on the internet as a young boy. This reality is just one of infinite realities existing alongside this one in parallel. Take us over to one of those realities in which everything is the same but these S53 playoffs have unfolded differently. What happened in that reality's playoffs and who's in the Challenge Cup over there? Arriving at the S53 finals Chicago has been eliminated, however in a flagrant display of cheating NOLA has been kicked from the playoffs and a raffle has been chosen to see who gets in. Chicago wins! Chicago turns it on and lights the world on fire. The ability to score on demand has been unheard of in the SHL and may never been seen again. Literal bone crushing hits from the Chicago blue liners are forcing players to retire for medical reasons. The goaltending prowess is on full display after posting 9 straight shut out wins. Teams are simply forfeiting their playoff games because they hope at some point these titans of hockey will be able to be over thrown and the league might one day return to a normal level of play. However until that day comes Chicago will remain the greatest hockey team to have ever existed or ever come into existence. All anyone can do is marvel at the perfection that has spawned. 2. Written, 3 TPE (150 words min.) With everyone getting a free redistribution this offseason, S54 is quite wide open at the moment. Before those redistributions take place, who would you anticipate being the top team(s) for next season? Chicago should be the Greatest of all Time going into s54. They have an evenly distributed team and are just getting over the hump of the first FHM season. Things should start to lock into place from here on out and I think we can expect this dynasty to kick into high gear. With some high end talent and some very promising defensive propects I think we can expect the high flying Chicago team that we saw in the S53 preseason take flight and rake the competition over the coals. Now every win might not a as glorious as one might expect but I think it is safe to say that a season is only written in W’s and L’s and they sure don’t have a stat for ugly wins. I don’t think I have to elaborate too much more you probably agree with me by this point and if you don’t well I don’t have time for deniers! 4. Written, 3 TPE (150 words min.) With new tools at our disposal in FHM, we may eventually see some new awards enter the fold. Create a suggestion for a new SHL award. What kind of achievement is the award given for? Who's the award named after? Who would've won the award this season? I would like to nominate an award for outstanding performance by a goalie on an otherwise abysmal team. The Carpy Award will be a special award not necessarily given out every year but qill be awarded when recognized by fellow goal tenders from around the league. The award would celebrate thw individual achievements of a position that is synonymous with the teams overall stats. This award should of course be given to the goalie who took iton the chin more than any other in the SHL's inaugural FHM season. Carpy from Toronto. It is now more apparent tban ever Carpy has been keeping an otherwise low flying team from completely bottoming out. This nomination should be polled by all goalies each season and only in the event that there is a complete and unanimous decision should the award be handed out. This will make the recognition that much more extraordinary. 8. Written/Graphic, 3 TPE (150 words min. for written option) The arenas in Edmonton and Hamilton certainly don't need any gimmicks to get people into the stadium for the series, but the arenas want to make sure they're pulling out all the stops on the big stage. Help the concessions department of one of these two teams develop a new product, with marketing specifically pertaining to this finals series, to be sold at the arena during the finals. Describe the product and the marketing in 150 words or create a promotional poster showing the product, its name, the price, etc. Edmonton has invested significant time into planning on what their S53 marketing plan was going to be. In the end they have jumped on the idea of dressing up their fans as Snowflakes. “Help the Blizzard, Be the Blizzard” is the tag line they are going with. Just a few of the many ideas we are seeing include giving away Snowflake foam heads at home games so fans show their “Whiteout”. They have also replaced the common #1 foam finger with a large foam snowflake for children. Snowflakes are retailing for $25.99 or if you purchase the special Blizzard currency sold only in the official Blizzard store. You can pick them up for only 1200 Blizzard Bucks (this results in a $5 savings). The Blizzard experiemented with several other variations but having having problems getting over the “Every player wants to be a special snowflake” rhetoric on Twitter so they might go back to the drawing board. 16. In a parallel universe we probably would have seen the New Orleans Specters in the final against the Hamilton Steelhawks. Why you ask? Because they never got caught cheating with leaving the 3 center spot empty to give some high TPE players more ice time(To be honest it was a nice try and worth trying). So they would have made all the way through the Los Angeles Panthers and a round later they would have done the same with the Edmonton Blizzards to go to the Challenge Cup finals. I am not sure if this strange tactic would helped them against the Steelhawks, because it looked like that the Hamilton Steelhawks had the greatest strategy of all. Taking down the power house of New England in the conference finals and also took down Buffalo in the first wasn't an easy way to the finals. I believe in the end, the Steelhawks would still be the champs. They had a team that worked together very well. 2. 181 words In a parallel universe we probably would have seen the New Orleans Specters in the final against the Hamilton Steelhawks. Why you ask? They had a team that worked together very well. 3. 100 words I am pretty sure that we will see the name Geezus Kryyst for many years in the Award shows. The Steelhawks goalie is an elite net minder and is already pulling out great numbers. I wouldn't be very surprised if we see his name pulled out of the envelope this year. If he keeps his play on the level he played during the S53 campaign there are not many other goalies out there that come close to him. Could be possible that he dominates the awards for a few more years, before regression will push him out of the show. 13. A. It's very easy decision, when you look at the stats of the skaters, there is nobody really ahead of anybody beside Tony Pepperoni maybe. But the guy I choose is the Steelhawks goalie Kryyst. He is the main reason why they are here and competing for the Challenge Cup. Kryyst carries his team. B. We all have seen, that the advantage in balance and strength is able to overcome a speedy and acceleration team. With some outstanding defensive play the Steelhawks made their way to the cup and we finally we can say that balance and strength was the physical skill that got the edge in this series. C. F - Flacko Lagerfield -->you can't say no to the points leader in the regular season, pretty save pick F - Robert Phelps --> always a plus to have a such a high scoring veteran on your team F - Tony Pepperoni --> he would be the all round player in this line up, can score or pass the puck. D - Gariel Jonson --> less GvA many TkA and he isn't shy of blocking shots. D - Karlstraße Scholz --> no real reason, but I like him and he did play well enough. G - Geezus Krysst --> By far the best goalie in the playoffs D. Yes I do like snow. I still can remember how much snow we had when I was a little boy. Now a days it hardly snows anymore, but if it does its normally a lot of snow at once. I love snow because everything outside looks so great and gets better when the sun is shining and the snow starts to sparkle. 14. 158 words Yeah I am one of the lazy dudes that waited to do CW to long. So congratulation to the Hamilton Steelhawks for winning the Challenge Cup this season. As you have seen, the finals games havn't been high scoring games, they all have been pretty close and low scoring games. So it crystal clear the finals MVP for me is no one other than Hamiltons goalie Geezus Kryyst. He keeps down the score so often and his team in the game with many great saves. With a GR of 96, 63, 100, 74, 94,100 and 2 shutouts during the series, there should be no discussion about who is the finals MVP. He should't only be the finals MVP but also the playoff MVP. His stats are outstanding, 0.938 save %. 1.76 GAA 2 shutouts. That all was a phenomenal performance of an individual person. He definitely set the mark very high for all the goalies that will follow. 16. 12345 Alexander Wachter, RW, S51 Carolina Kraken - Texas Renegades - Winnipeg Aurora Player Page // Update Page |
