So when people hit their caps they won't even do PTs anymore for the off-chance they have the best PT and get 1 uncapped.

When they hit their caps they won't be allowed to do PT's anymore

If a player has already hit the PT cap, they may still do the PT and try to earn the uncapped (esp. with playoff predictions, etc.)

It's a 1/240 chance to start that you will be judged the best PT submission (assuming 20 man rosters and everyone submits a PT). I like the idea, but it gets weird when you hit the cap. Hell, week 1 is almost over and I'm halfway there...

That's because of Predictions and stuff from last season.

The PT Director will determine that. The same way they determine now that some submissions are worth +3 uncapped and others are worth +2. We're just scaling back that bonus and making the PTs more about the capped TPE instead of issuing out multiple uncapped TPE to everyone who completes a PT.

So essentially it is arbitrary.

Uncapped TPE should be for people who go above and beyond. Like ridiculously high levels of effort and professionalism. That means multiple people can get uncapped TPE, but only if they put in an extraordinary amount of effort and skill.

For the cards, it should have been anyone who:

1. Made their own card from scratch instead of taking a template and customizing it
2. Made their card super realistic
3. Made almost zero mistakes in their design (blemishes, bad brushwork, etc)
4. Utilized unique and interesting elements in their design (such as abilities and such which are unique and not "hit a guy for -50 HP)

Anyone who doesn't have all these doesn't get any uncapped TPE. Anyone who does gets it. Giving 1 uncapped for the "best" design (when there are at least 5 or 6 who people could argue are the best) is strange to me, and unfair to those who put in a great deal of effort in their designs.

Alonzo Garbanzo Final Tallies (Among Defensemen):
2nd in Goals (208), All-Time Assists Leader (765)*, All-Time Points Leader (973), 3rd in Hits (2587), All-Time Blocked Shots Leader (1882)*
*All-Time Leader Among All Skaters

Once people hit their cap, this site will be a ghost town. Trust me on that, I've been in this league long enough to know exactly what's going to happen.

You can only improve your player once a week because the only thing you can do is training after that.. For the people who don't enjoy the general discussion forums, and would pretty much have only one game a day to look forward to without anyrhing else to on this site, the recent activity burst we just had will be gone in no time.

I won't fight any of this, the majority has made their decision, and I'll respect that, but until the site finds another way to keep people interested having one game a day and no opportunity to improve your player is not an enticing option for anyone who is not fully dedicated to this site, especially if you're a rookie just startinf out and it's going to take you almost a full calendar year just to start popping up on the scoresheet.

Anyway, that's just my take on it.

Another question is how to apply this to writing, you could write under the cap for a few of these PTs and have more quality than the guys who wrote 550 words of bullshit. You're dead on with the GFX PTs though, that's why I didn't even attempt the 1st one: I'm shit at it and would only get the cap. Now I have the chance to earn more Uncapped on Writing PT.

Here's my proposal for outstanding writing PT work:
1. Develops a storyline. This may sound like something simple, but you won't believe how many people can't foreshadow or develop characters well. A good story involves detailed character analysis, inner monologue, etc.
2. Grammar. No mistakes, no exceptions (well, maybe one if it's for foreign authenticity, like Kwik's last article). It's important and makes a story comprehendable.
3. Sentence Structure. If you can only use simple sentences and can't anything more complex than "The dog chased the ball," then you don't deserve a reward. Using prepositions, within reason of course, making complex sentences that can take a paragraph, and flexing your power with the pen is important since writing isn't really judged per word, but more through qualitative usage of the English language.

If you can't hook the reader, develop a character, and create a plot for the character to act out, you don't deserve uncapped.

You're probably right: most people are hard-wired to press the button to receive food and without the food incentive, the button becomes worthless. The question is how to do this without inflating the newer players to superhuman rates, since the veterans (and others) feel this is unfair. Maybe this is a sign to expand the season length to a full 82 so we can have more games/day. I know this could be really hard on Jack, so this is very tentative: if others would be willing to take over simming duties, this could happen, and keep people more interested. This would also give more opportunities for PbP TPE for those who want to exceed expectations (not inflating TPE, but giving others the chance to excel). With more games and more PbP TPE, it could be a possibility that Activity checks either become a daily update to receive .5 TPE/day posted for a grand total of 4 possible TPE at the end of each week. That way each day rookies feel like they're improving and it encourages the daily interaction. With the food coming more frequently, the button pushing will become more frequent, which is good for the site. Is any of this a possibility? I know it's raising the amount of TPE given, but PbP is capped and a 2 Uncapped TPE raise/week for the most active players isn't much.

Chose it from NHL, but raising the # of games/season should be raised to help keep activity up. Maybe not this season, but next.

It really won't. If anything, quicker seasons will keep activity up. Especially a quicker playoffs/off-season

So how would you propose to quicken things up for the sim? Hire more simmers? Shorter offseason?
