*Every Omar Little = Richard Sherman

We bring you today, a newly seen prospect who has chosen to make the jump from the Swedish Elite League to the SMJHL. Omar Little has agreed to take part in an interview that we have scheduled with him, but before all that; we will be bringing you an exclusive scouting report on the young phenom himself; Omar Little.

One phrase can tell you almost everything you need to know about this young rookie trying to make a name for himself; "work ethic and skill", two very good qualities for a rookie in this draft class to have. Omar Little has one of the best shots in the draft class that he can get off very quickly and accurately. Omar's willingness to throw around his 6'5 240 lbs frame around separates him from the pack of players in the draft class. Little does not hit often, but at the end of his career in the Swedish Elite, he began to up his hit total and his willingness to use his frame definitely paid off and led to him having a career year with 92 points in 39 games in the Swedish Elite League. Omar was snubbed at the World Junior Championships to play for Team Sweden, and did not stay quiet about it; letting the media and the team know that they had made a mistake. The team did not come away with Gold, and Little let them hear it, ranting on the coaching staff, the players, the management, and pretty much everyone else who was involved.

Omar Little will always step up for his teammates, hit Little, Omar gets back at you on the ice. If you hit Omar's teammates, Little gets back at you with fists flying with balls of fury. It is a big part of his game as Omar will always drop the gloves to protect his teammates, no matter how bleak the situation looks. Although Omar has swagger off the ice, on the ice; he is all about his team. A big reason for him being named Captain of his team in the Swedish Elite League, he is all about his teammates. Omar will protect his teammates, help his teammates, and mentor his teammates. Little wants to win more than anything and would sacrifice personal stats to win the game, even in pre-season.

For 6'5, and 240 lbs, Omar Little can skate like the wind, a big part of his skillset is his undeniably great skating. He accelerates at insane speeds and has the top end speed to keep him there, he definitely uses his skating ability to the max as most of his goals, he just absolutely blows by his defenders and tucks it in. Our experts say that this part of his game will transfer over to the SHL and SMJHL levels as he has continually worked on his skating as he will work hard to be considered one of the elite skaters of this draft class. Little can turn around and go as fast as the wind, and stop on a dime; Omar's skating is just something else that none of our experts have ever seen a prospect from the Swedish Elite League have in their skillset. Omar Little is a fun player to watch for casual fans.

A weak part of his game for being 6'5 and 240 lbs is his strength. More in depth, his upper body strength as his lower body strength is top notch. In the gym, Little usually has worked on his lower body as he was concentrating on his speed, and skating ability as a whole. His upper body strength is definitely something that can be worked on, and Omar knows that and is already working on improving it to help his draft stock rise. Little will do anything to help his draft stock, and to make himself a better player as a whole.

Another hole in his game is his tendency to get tired at the end of the game, but Omar Little is hopeful that with smaller ice, that problem would go away. Our experts agree with Omar, but are not as confident as he is with the problem going away. They believe Omar Little has to put a serious effort to get his stamina and endurance up to play at the SMJHL level and play at a high end level that he is capable of playing at definitely at the end of games when it really matters in the playoffs.

We discussed that Omar Little has the ability to just blow by defenders when he is attacking, but another ability he has when the defenders keep with him is his ability to slice through defenders and stick handle right through them. Omar has elite hands and can stickhandle through the tightest corners, and smallest turns and right around the defender. He is one of the most highly touted offensive prospects in this draft class and for good reason as he is truly elite with his skating and his puck handling. He puck handles as a man amongst boys, and can play keep away with the best of them, Little's ability to do that on the big ice will be interesting to see how that transfers over to the smaller ice in the SMJHL level. It has often hurt players that transfer, but we believe that Omar Little has what it takes to remain elite and keep his skill set as he has that something that no other prospects have. He has that work ethic, and he has that skill.

When he does blow by defenders, or stick handles right around them, Little sometimes looks to dish it off and crash the net for a rebound goal, but that never happens often. Our experts say that Little passes so smooth that it is often hard to mis-time the one-timer that is often perfectly placed, that Little does not get a lot of rebound goals from this play. His pass is smooth and crisp and lands on the ice at just the right time for the shooter or stick handler to get the most on the puck that he can get, and at a comfortable angle as well. He is often unpredictable with his passes and it is hard to stop when you do not know where or when the pass is going to end up on the right shooters' stick, and right into the net shortly afterwards. Another elite skill that rookie Omar Little possesses.

Omar Little has the ability to blow by defenders, stick handle through them, but then what? You need to be able to finish, and Omar Little has the most devastating shot that any one prospect possesses in this draft class, and in the Swedish Elite League as a whole. Goalies can not even see it coming, and regret it when they do luckily make the save as it will burn a hole through their pad, and most likely injure them. A quick, accurate release which has the power of a well-timed slap shot is the definition of his snap shot. He can get it in close and still pull it off as he is one of the best at goal scoring at his age. It is just a natural skill as he shot pucks at the wall countless times at home in Sweden, and now, evidently, it has definitely helped him become one of the best pure goal scorers in the Swedish Elite League and should help him be a high draft choice in the upcoming SMJHL Entry Draft. Omar Little; a great prospect.

Now that we've learned all about his offensive skills, let's take a look at his skills on the defensive side as he is classified as a two-way forward and defense is one of his biggest strengths. Omar Little will throw himself in front of any shot, protect his goalie at all costs, and will backcheck harder than he forechecks, and he forechecks pretty damn hard. Defensively, he is as solid as a rock, and his work ethic contributes to it as he absolutely hates to lose, and plays ferociously defensively to stop that exact thing from happening.

And now, with that out of the way, we are ready for the questions as Omar Little has joined us.

Interviewer: Hello Omar, thank you for joining us today.
Omar Little: Absolutely no problem, I am looking forward to letting General Managers and fans know what type of player, and man I am.

Interviewer: Absolutely, haha, now let's get into it?
Omar Little: For sure!

Interviewer: Why did you decide to declare for the SMJHL Entry Draft so late?
Omar Little: I was pondering over it for sure, but in the end I believed that the best move for me and my career was to take my talents to the best league around, and that is quite frankly, not the Swedish Elite League, but the SHL (Simulation Hockey League) I feel like I can succeed here, make new friends, and ultimately, be the best.

Interviewer: There's a long road for you to go to be the best, are you sure you can get there?
Omar Little: I believe I can. I have the work ethic to get there, and I will work even harder now that I have made the decision. It is a long road for sure, but I am confident that ultimately, I will end up in the discussion of the best that has ever done it.

Interviewer: Why should teams draft you?
Omar Little: I believe that teams should draft me because I will work hard, and end up as one of the greatest ever if I work hard enough. I will be active, and a team-first guy with a mentality to succeed with the team, instead of personally. Although, personal stats will help me in the eventual SHL Entry Draft.

Interviewer: What are your expectations for your rookie season in the SMJHL?
Omar Little: I believe that I will contribute offensively, and even more defensively and be the ultimate vocal leader in the locker room for the team that any team would love late in games.

Interviewer: More specifically, what do you expect your point totals to be in your rookie season in the SMJHL?
Omar Little: I believe I will get around 20 goals and 15 assists for 35 points while being very good defensively.

Interviewer: Those are elite stats, do you think you can achieve that?
Omar Little: Yes, I truly do.

Interviewer: Where do you expect to be drafted in the SMJHL?
Omar Little: I am hoping in the first two rounds, as I believe myself to be a top tier talent.

Interviewer: Any teams specifically you would like to go to?
Omar Little: No, not yet as I have not talked to any General Managers or even had a look at most teams.
