Interview With a Losing Captain Kyler Lange after GM6
#1

Interview Kyler! What’s going through your head right now after losing the series?
KL: What do you think is going through my head? It sucks. We started this game out well, and we didn’t keep it up. We blew it. I’m mostly disappointed we couldn’t bring the cup home for Deezy, Sarm, and Duey. I know they’ll get theirs one day, but I wanted to bring it to them this year. We all just have to put this behind us, and try again next season. I have to dedicate everything I have to the Steelhawks now, so that’s what I’m gonna do.

Interview Do you feel like you personally let them down? Let your team down?
KL: Absolutely. It’s hard not to feel that way. I’m sure we all feel that way though. It’s going to be in your head that maybe you could have made a better pass here, or taken more time to shoot there; For the GMs, maybe that they should have made a different trade, or drafted someone else. As the Captain, I do feel like I should have done something more. I’m not sure what that thing was, but I’ll be thinking about it all night. I know I have to get past this, and I will, but it’s going to take a while to make peace with the things I feel I should have, or should not have, done.

Interview Is it going to be hard to play on a team with Wagner now?
KL: Not at all. It may make for some early ribbing in the locker room, but I’m sure we’ll get along just fine. We have a common goal now: To prove to the SHL that even though the ‘Hawks have a lot of rookies on the opening day roster, we aren’t going to lie down. We’ll train hard, and we’ll show everyone what we can do. Once this was settled, Wagner wasn’t my enemy anymore.

Interview Your penalty minutes were only 14 shy of your regular season total in less than half the games. What were you doing differently in the playoffs that you weren’t in the regular season?
KL: To put it bluntly: Fighting. I’m not sure how many fights I got in this post-season, but it was a lot more than I got into during the regular. I’m sure it was just part of the extra intensity. Tensions were running higher, and maybe I was putting more pressure on myself, so my emotions got the better of me a few times. Sometimes those things just boil over. It’s something I will have to keep in mind next time I’m in this situation.

Interview Rumor has it you may be paired up with Kevin Lebacon in the SHL. How do you feel about that?
KL: I feel great about it. Lebacon is a great defenseman; a great player. If that is who I am paired with come opening night, I would be honored. That’s not really even at the forefront of my mind though. Right now I just need to decompress for a bit, and then get right to training. It’s only gonna get tougher from here on out.

imo, you should demand a trade to WK and get sent down to try again next season, tbh
