Austin Lemieux Vs St. Louis

In my need of cash, I have decided to make a series of season ending reviews on all of the teams in the SMJHL That I have played against, I will do some deep analysis of the games that I have started against each team, and give you a nice view into the eyes of Detroit's Rookie goalie.

St Louis: A team that started strong, and has since fallen. I think that their strong start was due to their schedule. Scoring 5 or more goals against the :impact: Whalers :force: was a great feat early on, and furthermore, not even losing a game until they played us was an even bigger accomplishment. However, that soon changed when we finally packed our bags, and ventured to St. Louis.

Game 1: 4-3 OTW
On the road, the Falcons were fired up, we wanted to be the team to snap their streak. I had plenty of film to watch, and scout their top players, Primarily Dambach, Wert, and the top pick of this seasons draft, <span style='color:orange'>Robb Wind.
They are decent players, who I totally respect, and with that being said, always need to stay alert when they come on the ice. The fans in St. Louis are okay, nothing really special, but there always are Falcons fans everywhere so that is awesome when you see some red in the crowd. The game started with Knutsen, and Girard sniping on Kozar, the otherwise "perfect" goalie. This really gave us confidence that we could, and would beat this guy. Vikingstod, and Mountain added goals on the board for the Crows, and they were good shots. Hard to be perfect in a league with so much talent. Tuzis and Dambach Exchanged goals, as we took it into OT. In the locker room, some guys were pissed off, and frustrated. We wanted a regulation victory, and not allow them any points, but we quickly focused on the task at hand, their first Loss. Pejonis Tucked one early in overtime, and had one of the biggest celebrations Ive seen all season.
1-0 Falcons

Game 2: 5-4 W
Detroit was rocking the red next day, as we sold out as usual against the Crows for the second game in as many days. I think the Fatigue hit everyone, the overnight travel is tough to go through, and saw a goal for each team in the first minute of the game. Robb Wind beat me shortside for only his 2nd goal of the season while Libra fired back for his 2nd as well. The game was different I will tell you that. It felt more intense, we wanted to hand them their first loss in regulation, and that is exactly what we did. The angry russian kid Netted one along with Girard, Pejonis, and Stonehands who all beat the "mighty" Kozar (Who was then pulled.....). Wind tucked another one, but the Crows as a whole fell short, and took their first regulation loss at the hands of the Falcons.
2-0 Falcons

Game 3: 6-2 W
The crows were looking like a Falcon just plucked all of their hay, and were totally ripped apart in the third game against us. Slow was an understatement, Mack destroyed Kozar, a hatty in the second period.. It seemed as though we were facing a peewee team, and we were the SMJHL team. In the second intermission it was 5-1 and we were already cracking beers in the locker room. This game was over. The fans in St. Louis were pretty much all gone by the time the 3rd started, and were unable to see Dambach score on me, they should have stayed.. Because Stonehands totally undressed Kozar, and finished a barn burner with a 6-2 W
3-0 Falcons

Game 4: 4-1 W
Bowden Played strong, allowing only one goal in a sweet 4-1 victory. 4 Unanswered goals put this game in the books, and sent the Crows fans home to bed early as another game was taken away from them.
4-0 Falcons

Game 5: 5-1 W
Bowden again held the Crows to one goal in their home arena. The fans have realized when we score unanswered goals, we will win the game, and they should probably just leave and go have a coffee or something because its a bloodbath on the ice, and they don't want their kids to see their team get obliterated. 5 goals, and another commanding victory for the Falcons.
5-0 Falcons

Game 6: 7-3 W
I finally got another chance to play against the Crows, I remember Mook telling me I was playing, I never wanted to play a game so bad. The guys in the dressing room were talking, and reminded each other that we needed to keep the streak alive, which is what we planned on doing. It sounds like a broken record, but literally, if we score unanswered goals against this team, the game is over. We scored not one, not two, not three, but four goals in a row to put this game away. Tallies coming from Pejonis, Tusis, Salabanzi, and Kekkonen quickly sealed this one, and we could finally win a game with fans in the building as this game was at the Joe. Burch, Pejonis (again!Wink, and Martushev rounded out the slaughter as we took this one 7-3. 3 goals against might be a bit high, but with a team like I have in front of me, that is easily enough to get the victory.
6-0 Falcons

Game 7: 4-2 W
Another start for me, and we were at home again. The streak was still strong as we were 6-0 against the Crows so far, and the standings were now starting to become a factor in how bad we wanted to beat this team. I think that the Crows are giving it their all, but just cannot stop us once we start scoring. They looked good as Wert tallied the first, and were even up 2-1 at one point, but then they awoke the beast, and the Falcons stormed Nevzorov with three goals from Girard, Tuzis, and Knutsen This constant barrage of goals against for the Crows seems to take them out of games, and changes how they play. We in Detroit want to make you play our game, and take every last fight out of you, and that is what we have been successful in doing against St. Louis.
7-0 Falcons

Game 8: 6-2 W
Don't mind me, just repeating what I'm seeing over and over again. I think this game made me feel as confident as ever before. We took a penalty early and I let a point shot in, and right after the Fans in St. Louis jumped to their feet, Girard and Salabanzi went right over to me, tapped my pads and told me we got this, just put it behind you. Right after that, our team goes on another scoring rampage 4 unanswered, by Kekkonen, Pejonis, and of course..... BOTH Girard, and Salabanzi When these guys say that they have your back, they have your back. Again, fans exit the building just as We scored two more to seal it, and give the crows another brutal loss 6-2.
8-0 Falcons

Game 9: 7-3 W
Finally, the Scarecrows came with some intensity. This game was full of passion as the Standing hung in the balance, In warmups, death stares. At the opening draw, chirps and tussles. But to no avail for the Crows. 1,2,3 Tuzis, Knutsen, Bartenberry took the life out of the crows early, and with Knutsen, Clayton, and Mack scoring another 3 unanswered later in the game, needless to say, it was a great game to play as a Goalie. I let in 3, but the W was all that mattered to us as we exploded into first place in the East. Our final game of the year is against the Crows, and all we have to do is prepare, because we know that they will look to snap this horrible streak against out team.
9-0 Falcons

Scarecrows Vs Falcons Score: D-

I can't really give them a better score than this, we have out played them across the board, and have only let up 1 Pt against them which saves them from getting an F. Like I said, I've seen what these guys do to other teams around the league, but we circle every game against them on our calenders, and we always are ready to shut their stars down defensively, and score in numbers every game we play against them

Scarecrows Vs League Score: A-
This team is Second place for a reason. In the better of the two conferences, they have been able to exploit other teams, and cruise to a large number of victories by 2+ Goals. They currently stand at a solid 28-18-2 which will surely be enough to lock up a date with the lower seeded Montreal squad in the playoffs. Good luck goes out to this team, because I feel confident in our play against them, and will be rooting for them so that we can play them in the second round.

I think it's because we're taking 40 shots on you guys and allowing less than 20. That can't help.
