Let me spell it out for you
1: This wasn't just the DC, this was the HO who initialized the punishment, they are the ones who started this process, they sent it to the DC for finalizing. Thats it.

2: Alex was suspended FOR ALMOST THE EXACT SAME THING LESS THAN 6 MONTHS AGO... so yes a harsher punishment is usually what happens when someone continues to do the same thing wrong multiple times.

A 3 day posting ban, and a 1 week posting ban did nothing to discourage him from doing it again. The 3rd time in under a year for doing basically the same thing and you think a 2 week suspension and 10 game suspension is cyber flexing ? Lol
