"Yapping"

Someone who mentally thinks it's okay to harm someone like that will just use another form, a knife for example.
Well for the record a person with a knife cannot kill 50 people within moments like a gun can. Like when a hammer was brought up a person with a hammer cannot kill 50 people like a gun can. That's the difference between called the gun a tool like a knife is the fact a gun is made to kill much faster and it's a lot easier to plan an attack with a gun. There was a great article recently written by one of the actual remaining mass shooters that didn't die and is in prison and he explained that the gun for him was the reason he brought out his plan because it was easier to do what he wanted over something else.. Like a knife.

Why are bombs and knifes not used?

One is incredibly difficult to get the ingredients for and the other isn't nearly as effective. They aren't the same as guns.

Try and tell the city of Boston that...

Forks, ball bearings and a pressure cookers aren't hard to come by. In fact, in the state of Massachusetts they are significantly easier to acquire than even the most basic firearm.

amazing how when someone mentions gun control, the opposition always jumps to "they want to take all guns away". We just want regulation and restrictions. You want a gun for protection? Here's a handgun. Are you a hunter? Here's a hunting rifle. Why do you need these semi-automatics?
100% agree
Rules and Restrictions like closing that moronic fucking gun show loophole and the fact a FBI watch list member can get firearms like that at will without a hitch. Maybe that'd be a great fucking place to start.. Nobody ever says "take way all the guns" but that's all people ever hear lol

They are used, bombs are used an alarming amount if you ask me. A person who wants to kill someone doesn't do so because there is a gun at hand, they do so because they aren't quite right in the head.

If guns aren't around what is to stop that same person from poisoning a large group of people? Hijacking a bus full of people and getting into an wreck? Or a plane for that matter.

Sure guns could be regulated a lot better but I still think at the end of the day we would be looking to regulate another dangerous object that was used to murder innocent people.

I understand the argument about no other weapon comparing to a gun. But then go back and read my opinion on the impossibility of removing all guns from civilian hands plus the very probable chance of these people who want to use them in this way just acquiring them illegally anyways.

I think I will be out of this conversation now, I said my part, I respect those who disagree. Not looking for Internet fights lol

Cope.. Nobody has ever.. ever said take all the guns off the face of the planet. Nobody is asking for that and we know it's impossible.

And how often do bombings happen here in America? How often are random, innocent people targeted by a crazy guy (always a guy) with a gun?

Three people who died in the bombing and hundreds were injured... but how often do bombings happen? They are rare because someone intent on killing a bunch of people can literally just go out and buy some guns and that is much easier than figuring out how to build bombs and then hope they go off as intended.

Also how do you "fix" someone's opinion? Has anyone's opinion changed in this topic? No. The older people get the more stubborn they get in their view points.

100% agree, if you aren't confident you could defend yourself by making a clean, accurate shot with a handgun or hunting rifle to defend yourself, I sure as fuck don't want you anywhere near an automatic.

Yeah I mean bombs really are the easiest thing to make. There's a reason you hear about them all the time in the middle east. Most people have the stuff to make a bomb in their house.

Hell most people have the stuff in their house to make fucking napalm.

How often is a fucking plane hijacked and crashed? Are you serious? Comparing that to gun violence? Get a fucking grip, man...

The Columbine kids intended on setting off bombs and "picking off" kids fleeing from the cafeteria. Their timers malfunctioned. They had plenty of pipe bombs though.

If I had to guess, bombs aren't used because the fucked up people who want to kill people want that shit to be personal. They want to directly cause the death of someone, not blow them up

I feel like I have a grip. All I asked is what is going to stop a person intent on murdering people from doing so?

Why would I risk trying (and most likely failing) to hijack a plane, when I can just walk down the street and buy a gun and then do it. You can't compare the two.

This filibuster isn't in the stupid phase of reading a dictionary, really interesting the reminders of San Bernadino, Sandy Hook, etc. They reiterate the need to vote to keep people on the terrorist no-fly list from purchasing a gun anywhere, and that you must be subject to a background check prior to buying a gun at any location, removing the gun show loophole.
