I'll put out a disclaimer quickly here:
I'm going to attempt the team needs and mock drafts. I don't know the teams' lines so I'm going to do it by TPE, so if it's different let me know. I also don't have time to go in right now and see if someone inactive or not. I'm just gonna do the lines by TPE and see where I could see a hole and point out players who can fill that hole. Then using that info (and Schultzy's mock draft ![]() ![]() Registered Posting Freak

Team Previews and Needs

![]() Forward lines based on TPE and natural position: Hippo (370)-Zjang (326)-Evans (321) Vikstrom (239)-Kepka (168)-Berzins (221) Odegaard (194)-?-Benitez (155) ?-?-? Defense Pairings based on TPE: James (360)-Metzler (305) Sinikka (253)-Berzins (229) Bailey (184)- Derin (170) Goalies: McSieve (479)(Not sure if they're still on the team or allowed to be, but they were listed on the roster, so...) Kirkstone (312) Scratched: D Brodangleschlong, G Walstad, G Anderson Team Needs: Definitely some forwards. They're set in goal, so maybe a trade is possible for one of their scratched goalies. Besides a third line center, it's not that bad. Anybody could play on the fourth line really. Also, for fourth line minutes, and player would do. Assuming we get through three rounds, Detroit has four picks. At six, they should take the best skater available as they still have some defense under 200 TPE. Then with their next two picks in round two, take either one forward and one defenseman, or two forwards depending on who they took with the sixth overall pick. In round three, they'll likely get an inactive anyway so you may as well just take a forward and fill out that bottom line with three forwards, unless they make a trade or want to put someone already on another line on the fourth as well. Possible Targets: Reppo could be a guy Detroit could target for the fourth line or even third line center. He may be an underrated player because of his player build (enforcer), but he'd do well on the fourth line against weaker opposition, and you wouldn't have to worry about Schultzy going inactive. Glenn Campbell and Derrick Glover are the only other centers who might be there at number six (assuming Cukurs and Koivu go in the top five).
![]() Forward lines based on TPE and natural position: Volkova (313)-Reflieux (462)-Laing (308) Green (275)-De Bruin (385)-Azarov (251) Flower (266)-Reed (297)-Godstone (163) Kaiser (245)-Ryan (259)-? Defense Pairings based on TPE: Banning (440)-Battle (376) Kosonen (293)-Iversen (249) Komarov (204)-Johnson (155) Goalies: Hocolate (421) Pel (259) Scratched: LW O' Callahan Team Needs: Not much. Seriously, wow. Such a stacked team. No wonder the won the Four Star Cup. At this point, there's no holes really. Maybe just an upgrade here or there. They only have the tenth pick in the first three rounds though. They may lose Reflieux so they might want a center, but if they don't they could use an upgrade on the third line RW or bottom defense pairing. That would knock Godstone or Johnson out of the lineup. They'll find a spot for O' Callahan. Someone may have to play their off wing though, but anybody not willing to make that sacrifice to play for a powerhouse team is crazy. Props to vbottas17 for building a solid team here in Halifax. Possible Targets: Maybe Reiter for that third line RW spot if he falls to ten. Again, not much needed for the Raiders.
![]() Forward lines based on TPE and natural position: Russett (244)-Granlund (374)-Forbrook (392) ?-Watson (277)-Wells (318) ?-Maciel (244)-Kennedy (287) ?-Nerokov (225)-Obama (205) Defense Pairings based on TPE: Maatta (391)-Hallfredsson (275) Vas (243)-Toast (181) ?-? Goalies: Harris (264) Ohvo (193) Scratched: C Jeziak, C Light Team Needs: Quite a bit actually. I noticed Angello and Orlov's player pages were moved, so I'm assuming they're not on the team any more. That leaves a HUGE hole in their lineup. Russett is the only left wing I saw. They also only have two picks in the first three rounds (both in round two). They can maybe move Jeziak who I know has value. They may need to sign some inactive as well. Possible Targets: Any of the left wings, which would be Knouse, Kylrad, Atmey, Lake (even though he won't be there in round two), Tsujimoto, Garland, or O' Ryan. They could also use some defense, but they only have two picks. This is gonna be a tough offseason for Montreal.
![]() Forward lines based on TPE and natural position: Stach (155)-Visser (290)-Kurczewski (286) Cirocco (155)-Westbrook (243)-Akeson (197) ?-?-Ek (172) ?-?-? Defense Pairings based on TPE: Rivet (491)-Foster (387) Targaryen (266)-Reine (203) Celej (185)-? Goalies: Wahlgren (307) Happanen (155) Scratched: None Team Needs: Forwards. I though I missed a page, but then I saw there was only one. I'm not sure what happened to all their players, but this is not a great looking team other than for a handful of players. CRUTCHFIELD is a great GM though, so I'm sure he knows what he's doing, and has a plan. Possible Targets: St. Louis has four picks in the first three rounds. That would fill three of the five open forward slots. Then, St. Louis could either put some players on two lines or sign some inactives.
![]() Forward lines based on TPE and natural position: Eichelele (279)-Svensson (271)-McGraw (301) Hagan (266)-Yakikov (215)-Dabkowski (229) Kovalchuk (196)-?-Renninger (211) ?-?-Money (188) Defense Pairings based on TPE: O' Dooley (324)-Goddard (313) Yvel (254)-Leetch (248) ?-? Goalies: Rudnikova (277) Molmsten Jr. (188) Scratched: RW Slayer, RW Stuart Team Needs: I already know this won't be the lineup, but I decided to stay with the same format as the rest of the teams. A few 300 TPE players and plenty of 200 TPE players, this is a decent team. Maybe need to add a forward and a defenseman. The Mammoths have three picks in the first three rounds. Possible Targets:With two picks in round one (five and eight), Colorado will likely look to add to important players. For forwards, Lake, Glover, and a few recreates should still be available, and on defense, they should grab Weber or another top defender.
![]() Forward lines based on TPE and natural position: Wilson (292)-Bent (327)-Burrows (267) Light (268)-Otto (279)-Horvat (235) Yanovich (227)-?-Huber (171) ?-?-? Defense Pairings based on TPE: Hohenberg (358)-Starosta (251) Bergfalk (204)-? ?-? Goalies: Aittokallio (282) Smith-Frey (155) Team Needs: Another team with not a lot of players all together. They do have the first overall pick however, as well as sixteen and seventeen, but that would still leave four open spots on the team. Either Kelowna will have tired players or they'll have to grab some inactives. Possible Targets: Cukurs should go number one overall to them. If he didn't I'd be very surprised. He's slot in nicely as the third center for now, and then he can grow into the number one center of the future.
![]() Forward lines based on TPE and natural position: Selich (359)-Boone (280)-Hertzberg (291) NoRetornable (246)-Wolf (234)-Gutler (155) Shnekinsen (214)-Riccardelli (186)-? ?-?-? Defense Pairings based on TPE: Monkey (494)-Obrana (359) Kottbulle (235)-Pham (213) Pollak (204)-Savage (170) Goalies: Waters (382) Mattehorn (155) Scratched: O'Brian (155) Team Needs: Just by having Selich and Waters on the team, PGF are automatically a contender. Two of the best players at their respective positions in the league. They could use some upgrades on the right wing. You don't want a 155 TPE player on your second line right wing. Luckily for the Firebirds, they have FIVE picks in the first three rounds. Possible Targets: Any of the right wings. Hackenburg or Reiter in particular would be good as they are both recreates.
![]() Forward lines based on TPE and natural position: Owen (527)-Ross (509)-Llewellyn (368) Bearss (313)-Stamkos Jr. (487)-? Wilburn (163)-Latta (294)-? Monarch (155)-Kubrak (233)-? Defense Pairings based on TPE: Lindstrom (397)-MacDonald (394) Tusk (348)-Farris (186) ?-? Goalies: Wehner (378) ? Scratched: Bobby (155) Team Needs: Another team that doesn't need a ton. Vancouver will be a top team this year. Best first line in the league, solid two players on their second line, great top three on defense, and one of the best goalies in the league. Sign an inactive to play six games and be done with that. Vancouver has two picks (including second overall in the top three rounds). They should grab a defenseman for their top four with the second pick, and with eighteen grab a second line right wing. Then sign some inactives to fill out the rest. Possible Targets:Weber or Caleum on defense with number two. Might be just a tad high, but they have a specific need. Unless Vancouver wants to have the best top six forward group in the SMJHL, if they don't already. ![]() Registered Posting Freak
How's that so far, for a bit of a preview for how the rest will look?
BTW. I thought the cap was 350, so why are Hippo, James, and McSieve still listed on the roster? WannaBeFinn ![]() Registered S37 Challenge Cup Champion Quote:Originally posted by NYRangers3061@Sep 26 2016, 12:59 PM I'm enjoying it ^^ #GOJETSGO
