As the poll has prompted immense discussion, I decided to take a good amount of time to put together a spreadsheet that I think could give our off-season some structure. I think having earlier deadlines could minimize the length of the off-season, which I think is elongated by the lack of in-depth planning. At no fault of any one person, we don't have tasks typically that one person can do and then its done.
A good example is regression. HO puts out a regression post and then GM's have to either regress their inactives or have their players regress themselves. If the regression numbers were posted sooner non-playoff teams and stage one and two playoff teams could get a jump on the task and utilize the time more.
Another thing would be doing away with Game 1 thru 4 finals pbp's possibly. Yes, TPE hawks may complain, but if they truly want to scrape for those games 5-7 at each level of the playoffs would still be available, but signing up means they are done in an immediate fashion. The league doesn't wait on you, if you want the TPE than the PBP is done when the sim happens. Yes it may seem harshly worded that way, but to keep the system moving the leagues interests come first. Second, the signups for PBP are lacking at times anyways and often finding people saying "fine" I will take it, often resulting in a half-assed game.
I would be happy to elaborate on what is within the perspective post-season/off-season schedule.

In a specific fashion or... Just curious in reality. The sim need would need to expand on the end a bit after talking to JY, but if he can put in the work I'm not sure why we can expect the same from the HO and GMs in order to turn around the offseason in a more timely and efficient way.

Why not have deadlines with punishments for not meeting them, which ultimately leads to firings if the issue is chronic? Seems pretty logical to me.

I agree with this. If both a GM and a co-GM are unable to complete their work in a rather lengthy time-frame, why should the rest of the league suffer as a result of their negligence?
