I'm talking prior to that. When Portland even posted the thread it wasn't a transaction that happened yet. They were making an announcement that they were going to make a transaction, by posting that they were making a transaction thread in the transaction forum.

yah i didn't even know there was a processed transactions till 5 mins ago when i couldn't find that buyout thread. Someone definitely made it official though Wally said in the thread not to talk to Laing

he definitely did not say in the thread right away to not talk to laing, definitely not before the message was sent

Could have just asked Wally for permission to be on the safe side.
From what I learned very early on, cover all your angles before taking action.

Too be fair tho, I think everything has been blown out of proportion. We don't norrmally see Buyouts to begin with unless it's an inactive, but I don't think TDW would have moved forward without being certain so he trusted a HO member. Now if that member gave incorrect information, then i agree he would need to be accountable but at the same time is this really a big of an issue as it should be?

I didn't know there was that section either until I also went looking for the thread.

the pm posted here by groupme shows Walrus sent the pm at noon on the 22nd. The first post even questioning the legitimacy of the buyout was by Allen on the 23rd. Only after that did Wally say anything about the buyout not being now.

So Wally saying not to talk to Laing came too late in this instance. I'd say the blame for this is 100% on Portland.
