Diversity won't be a thing unless you either institute a stupid cap system or STHS changes.
People need to get over this build diversity stuff. When there aren't enough stats to follow there isn't much incentive to have a diverse build.

I would also add the expansion into part of the issue, it spread out the talent. It took what 8 seasons for BUF to crack the playoffs, and 9 for Portland. Both teams had other circumstances but those numbers should show that the league isn't bursting at the seams with active talent.
