Okay, so you're just talking about trades made after the deadline? Cause players are still eligible to play in the regular season at that point, just not the playoffs.

I haven't seen a trade happen there, not with NHL players, but this season we did have at least one trade of AHL players happen after the deadline, and at least one signing of a player to play in the end of the season without being able to play in the playoffs, IIRC.

I don't know if that's how it works for the SHL; I don't see details regarding the trade deadline in the rulebook, at a glance. It does look like teams out of the playoffs can make trades, at least, but that doesn't help much given that both teams Mac wants to be traded to are still in the playoffs. Could probably negotiate unofficial terms and wait to post it later, but their GMs are proooobably focused on playoff stuff right now, if either is even interested in trading assets for a hotheaded ~700 TPE S20(?) player with a weird build anyway. And I genuinely don't know if Mac would be satisfied with a handshake agreement.

I had planned out my career pretty decently. When I was finally knocked off the faceoff throne I had hoped to have my successor on my team and turn into a defensive dman.

You know you could just unretire (or not have retired in the first place, but w/e, we're past that now) and then talk things over without the time limit, and you could literally always change your mind and retire for realsies if you think it's unsalvageable or not going your way?
