Riot Extend Orlov

Well I mean I don't see any other way for it to be judged lol It's pretty cut and dry.

I guess I was thinking of it as an extension assuming that I played with Seattle this season (given I am GM), but I see your point that assuming that isn't really what the rule allows for.

We'll wait till the end of the season.

The rule states played on the team as I quoted. Played for six or more seasons which means S30 doesn't count if youre not on the team actually playing for them.

If you want to push for another loophole just to sign a contract one season ahead of time... its called patience, c is the GM so it's not like he's going anywhere for a season so I don't understand why he couldn't just wait a season instead of trying to push a loophole because it doesn't state either played means "on the Riot roster and was played in a SHL game" or "is a part of the Riot organization even if he's in the smjhl" which the rule clearly doesn't state that, its says played as in played games on the team for atleast six seasons.

My only issue is this creates a disadvantage for sending players down. For Teddy he will won't be eligible for Hometown discount until his 8th season under contract as a player. Why would that happen when he will be easily be over 1500 TPE if he main his pace and be making 5mil a season and potentially creating creating a cap problem for my team.

Wasty precedent dictates that HTD only cares about how long you've been with the organization, not how many seasons you've played with the team. Holmes started playing with BUF S30, but was signed to an HTD S34 because he's been with the organization since S29 (29, 30, 31, 32, 33, 34).

Or maybe just someone missed it, idk. Eggy's call.

This is one of the few times I agree with c and Hallsy. If we determine HTD only applies if you've played the entire timeline, then shouldn't regression also? Should we even have contracts for send-downs? Why? They're a part of the team, but if it isn't counting as seasons with the team, what's the point of signing? If they don't, they go back to the draft, but that's not how it works in reality.

Honestly, this is a situation where, if you've been with the team for that period, you should be approved for HTD in the same way if you've been 10 seasons after your draft whether you played 5 games or 500, you're regressing. I see no problem with this contract, other than the obvious problem for SEA.

If you're drafted and you spend the next season in the SMJHL and the team you were drafted to wins the cup, you as a prospect didn't win the cup, you aren't included in the roster and you don't get a Cup icon. They're part of the organization but they're not on the team, and the rules clearly states played not "be a part of the organization."

Would it work if we did something like this?

Doesn't actually have to do with the quoted text lol

Linking a signing from S22 doesn't mean much when the new rule about HTD was made a couple seasons ago with those specific words of "played for six or more seasons" plus my contract extension was cleared by Park (Commish at the time) before it was posted and agreed upon, yours was not.
