Laing can't be traded right now, per the player retirement rules:

-You may unretire, however. If you choose to do so, you will lose 15% of your total TPE. You must unretire within 7 days of announcing your retirement. Your rights may not be traded during this 7 day period.

That's not what it says in the rulebook though?

Code:
5. Unretiring
a. A player may unretire up to 7 days after they retire.
i. After 7 days, the player is gone forever, with no way to reverse it.
ii. If a player unretires within the 7-day window, they will lose 15% of their total TPE upon unretiring.

Also just realized that I traded Killington back in S28 before his 7 days were up because Toronto wanted to see if they could get him to come back. Was not punished

SHL inconsistent only when it fits their needs. Down with HO

It's the rules in the retirement section at least.

That's also out of date since it says a new season doesn't start until preseason, but in reality the offseason post indicates a new season

Did the start of a new season used to be the first preseason game? The way I read that was "preseason" referring to its most literal meaning; "before the regular season" not necessarily the first preseason game.

Either way doesn't seem like a huge deal and not really sure the point of this rule anyway.

I'm gonna leave this up to HO, but that rule was put in place once upon a time to counteract shadiness like this, so I don't know why it would be repealed at any time, I'm just assuming it got lost when the rulebook was consolidated.

Typical SHL though with it's loose rulebook allowing for possible loopholes tho, eh?

The rulebook is fucked. Honestly, I don't trust it. It's just so disorganized. honestly, the entire site is. HO needs to hire some old tomens to fix it tbh
