Hey, me as a 24th overall pick in a weak draft. Teams passing me and drafting other inactives instead of me. I'd rather stay at my position. But I would consider myself an 8th overall pick and top 10. Clearly. Amirite Beaujeaux

What's the best draft class this site has seen so far, and why?

I guess I'll continue the biased choices on here. But unlike a lot of other choices, S31 has a real chance of being one of the best ever draft classes this sit has ever seen. Not only in the sim but on the site the draft class has completely taken over. Let's just list the leadership jobs held currently by S31 members:

SHL GMs

Gooney
Toivo
Grapehead
ztevans

SMJHL GMs

Avakael
NYRangers3061
JKortesi81
ToeDragon84
InciteHysteria

IIHF GMs

Kris
Pris

Head Office

Avakael

SMJHL Head Office

Zoone16
ztevans

All of these members have helped shape the current state of the SHL. Along with leadership positions held by the S31 class we also see many of the players from the class making their stamp on the league. Six goaltenders from the S31 class have had success, from winning the McBride (Haas and Wahlgren), to winning the Cup (Aittokallio, Kirkstone, Rudnikova and Pel). The top skaters of S31 are starting to become superstars in the league. Names like Volkova, Redding, Evans, Visser, Koch Schröder, Kerczewski, Metzler, Westbrook, Kosonen, Kaiser, Bearss, Laing, Leetch, and many more are becoming household names in the SHL.

We may not be an older class that has finished their run and solidified their spots in the SHL Hall of Fame. But when all is said and done - the S31 class will have many many Hall of Famers.

Truly an unstoppable group.

You abandoned us and joined S36. If you stuck with Waters you'd have been counted still. But I know you didn't like goalie. I can't blame you. Tongue

What's the best draft class this site has seen so far, and why?

As a new player, this PT is a bit hard.

I think the S37 draft is going to go down as one of the top drafts on SHL and here’s why. The top couple of picks are some top tier recreate players that from what I can tell are great earners in the league. Connor Tanner alone speaks for himself. He’s a great community member, GM, and very active community member. We then have three top tier recreate players that were drafted following Connor: Jack Tanner, Hercules Rockefeller, and Shaun Stephens. All of these guys are great contributors in sim leagues and won’t disappoint on their current teams. Next was another great pick in Jay Bae, a top prospect who builds top players. Jay Bae also runs another hockey league which shows commitment to sims. Next in this class was Sven Brokstad who was an unknown coming in but has an excellent reputation from other communities and will surely be an impact player down the road. The 7th pick was yours truly, ErM, who isn’t going anywhere. The next group of people include a solid group of steady players that were recreates and have some high ceilings depending on activity. Based on what I know of the top picks in this draft, it was an extremely top heavy one that should feature a significant number of early draft picks that’ll be making an impact for a long time.

If I was honestly active from the start in a rookie campaign in the juniors I would've easily been pick top 10 instead of the 4th round. Manhattan took a chance on me and it paid off in spades for them.

Goobey and Joe the goat GMs. One of the main reasons of me being active on the site again is cause of Joe.

- Let's go back to your SHL draft. In hindsight, do you think you would have/should have been drafted in the position that you were, knowing what you know now? Give yourself a redraft position!

I got drafted 5th overall in my SHL draft and I think that is probably pretty fair. Phelps and Odjick were definitely going to Hamilton 1st and 2nd and those were probably the correct choices. West Kendall needed defense and got the best defenseman with Kruger. 4, 5, and 6 could have been any combination of Mike Izzy, Sophia Bennett, and myself. Honestly if I had to go back and redo the draft I would maybe be inclined to move myself down to 6th. Izzy and Bennett both had stronger SMJHL careers than myself, but I believe at the time of the draft everyone got drafted to teams that they were happy with.

Lol I don't think it's modesty. There's no way I should have gone #1 overall, that being said I think there are a decent handful of players from our class that are going to have damn good careers.

If QC wasn't my brother, it could have easily been you, Sophia or Adam at #2 in my honest opinion.
