Free Agency?
#1

Code:
Ready for grading. Word count: ~1600.

I'll keep this short because I don't want to make it a big deal, but I figured I'd put my name out there just in case.

I'm testing free agency this offseason. I don't know where I'll end up - it might be back in West Kendall, it very well might not be.

I guess people post resumes or something when they do this shit. It's not like I had had stellar seasons as a player up until this past one, but I can offer you cap space since I plan on taking minimum wherever I end up signing. And, I guess, I just had some semblance of a career season (so far). On a team like West Kendall, I'll take it. Only place to go from here is up.

I'd also like to think I have some value as a member of the site that could be useful wherever I end up signing. Rookie mentor head, SHL PT director, and federation head for Team Russia. I'm also active as hell, so that's a perk for anyone who might want me out there. I'll be breaking 1500 TPE either next week or the week after, and I still have a decent while until regression, I'd say.

If anyone particularly wants me to do a team ranking, I can, but I'll hold off to see if anyone will actually care if I do one.

Ask me questions, I guess?

Will include team rankings probably later today to answer this question.

Quote:Top Russian prospect?

<a href='index.php?showuser=2267' rel='nofollow' alt='profile link' class='user-tagged mgroup-10'>Waters</a> has almost 620 TPE, I luv him. He's capped for this tournament, unfortunately, but as far as I know, this will be his last tournament at cap. He's only going to keep growing, and I'm super excited to see how he pans out as a player. That kid's going to be a monster on my roster someday, it makes me super happy.

Quote:Will Russia medal with you and Evans this year?

I mean, we're not the only people on the roster, hahaha. But that's always the goal.

Quote:How do you feel about your large following in the formx community?

I appreciate it v much. You're the best form to ever form, tbh.

<a href='index.php?showuser=2245' rel='nofollow' alt='profile link' class='user-tagged mgroup-13'>Grapehead</a>

Quote:What has been the toughest part of your career so far?

Honestly, just trying to balance the whole "first OA" thing with how my player actually panned out. It's no secret I was never really what people expected me to be on-ice, and that I got a lot of shit for it  It took a little bit of time getting used to that and learning to accept it.

Quote:Favourite memory?

That's a really hard question. Maybe the night we won the Four Star Cup? Maybe the draft. Both of those were definitely big ones in my career.

Quote:Are you seeking a leadership or management role in the league eventually?

Not at all. In fact, I really don't... ever want one, lol. Management isn't for me. Leadership as far as captaincy is nice. It's been a really interesting experience being captain in West Kendall and I've enjoyed it quite a bit, but it's not even close to a requirement for me wherever I go. It's just something that happened naturally in West Kendall, not something I ever demanded.

Quote:How difficult was it to make the decision to open yourself to free agency?

Incredibly difficult. West Kendall has been my home for almost my entire time on the site. They welcomed me with open arms and have treated me with a lot of kindness and a lot of patience. I'll always be grateful to them for that, whether I stay or not.

<a href='index.php?showuser=2638' rel='nofollow' alt='profile link' class='user-tagged mgroup-17'>TheDangaZone</a>

Quote:What kind of role are you looking for, like top line or helping wherever needed?

I'm not that picky. Obviously, if a team is offering me third line at best, I won't be thrilled, but I'm not really seeking any particular placement, role, ice time, etc.

Quote:Are you looking at contenders or helping teams more in need?

Again, not too picky. Contenders or not, I just want a team that I'll enjoy playing for. Good locker room is pretty much the most important factor, if I'm being honest.

As far as team rankings...

Top tier:

Jets -Winnipeg Jets

I have a lot of good friends on the Jets... From what I've heard, it's a locker room I'd absolutely love to be a part of. It's a surging team right now, and they're only going to get better.

Dragons - Calgary Dragons

I have a lot of respect for the Dragons. I admire Esa as a GM very much. While I don't have as many friends/don't know that many people in the locker room, I imagine I'd enjoy being a part of that team very much.

"Convince me" tier:

Platoon - West Kendall Platoon

West Kendall will always hold a special place in my heart. I love my teammates very much. <a href='index.php?showuser=2077' rel='nofollow' alt='profile link' class='user-tagged mgroup-30'>ej27</a>'s been one of my closest friends on this site since I joined the team, and the entire team in general has been so important in helping me really find my place on the site. The thing is, I think I do need a fresh start. I might be open to returning in the right circumstances, or if there isn't too much actual demand for me in FA, but for now, I'm still exploring all my options.

Chiefs - Minnesota Chiefs

There are some people on this team with whom I don't see eye-to-eye, but I could definitely be persuaded if given more information about the locker room. There are a few people that I really do love, so I can't imagine I would necessarily dislike being a Chief.

Panthers - Los Angeles Panthers

Honestly, Wasty's amazing. Again, there are also people on this team that I've clashed with a bit in the past, but I've also heard that the locker room is really fantastic, so it sounds like a fun place to be. Also, if I could get one of those sexy Los Angeles sigs, I'd be in heaven.

Steelhawks - Hamilton Steelhawks

So many of the people I've mentored over the past few seasons have ended up in Hamilton. While I know there's been a lot of turmoil in the past in that locker room, I'd be willing to give it a chance.

Stampede - Buffalo Stampede

I'm definitely less averse to joining this team than I would have been just a few seasons ago. I get along well with many members of the team, and hey, I just shared a locker room with WBF for half a season. I don't really know how I would fit into the locker room, or anything about the locker room culture, but I'd be willing to give it a shot.

Wolfpack - New England Wolfpack

Eh. I have so many friends on that team, but I don't know how well I would actually fit in with the locker room culture. Regardless, I'll entertain any options, and I'm on either good or great terms with most of their locker room, so...

Stars - Toronto North Stars

Oops. Anyway. I... don't know if I'd fit in well in Toronto. That's another team where I have individual friends in the locker room, but I don't think the locker room is the place for me. Great team, I just don't think I'd mesh well.

"Probably not" tier:

pride - San Francisco Pride

There are a lot of people that I'm good friends with and a lot of people I've mentored on this team. And of course, I have great respect for Grape, my draft class buddy. That being said, I don't know if I have particular interest in joining such a harsh rebuild, and I don't know if the locker room atmosphere as a whole is something I'd be generally interested in at this time.

Riot - Seattle Riot

Uhh.... Yeah, I don't know how fond I would be of joining the Riot right now. When I got drafted, Abdeezy was nothing but fully professional and very kind to me. And I get along excellently with Rice. That being said, since Gifter stepped down, the team seems like it's been incredibly chaotic and ever-changing, and I'm looking for something stable and long-term in my destination.

Renegades - Texas Renegades

Not too big a fan of the locker room, although of course, I do have very good friends in that locker room too. It's a good team, I just don't think I'd be a right fit.

Rage - Manhattan Rage

I don't know too much about this team. The little that I have heard, from friends that have passed through that locker room, makes me not particularly enthusiastic about joining the team. I also know very few people on the team, so I have a feeling it would take me a while to acclimate.

Blizzard - Edmonton Blizzard

Again, feel free to prove me wrong, but from what I've heard, this team sounds like a bit of a dead zone. And I just don't know that many people on the team. Nothing in this tier is a no, of course, but it'd probably take a lot of work to persuade me to join the Blizzard.

Ultimately, I'm open to at least listen to pretty much what anyone has to offer.
