You also deleted your own chances for the next 5 seasons.

Actually, I guess Montréal and Colorado did that
It is hard to win the SMJHL without going all in because someone is always willing to rebuild. The roster turnover forces you to find success through picking which season to be good and which to be bad. Look at HAL they are almost always either really good with little to no picks in drafts, or really really bad and building for the next 2 seasons? The whole league is setup to go all in, this is just 4 all in deals in one trade, rather than doing 1 or 2. And its because the three were available to anyone that you have to pay more, because any other playoff teams picks up all three and they instantly get a much larger chance of beating you NOW. who actually cares about next season when someone else has a better team than us because they didn't lose anyone to aging out or callups. We don't have another season at this level of play if you look at our roster.

I wouldn’t call it listening if they come to you. It’s not like Incite and Toe were parading around asking for more. Hell it hadn’t even been posted in the HO boards
i had a deal set up with vancouver during the draft last season and samee came to me asking me what i would offer for the pick i just acquired, i told him i already had a deal in place and didn't ask him what he would give up. I feel like that is just common courtesy when you have a deal in place, you stick to it, you said you agreed, if you wanted to listen to other offers you should have said we'll wait on it.

Also, RE: "They hadn't posted it on the boards", they said they would post the deal and then said it would be a while cause they wanted to give the players a nice goodbye, then not only did they back out of the DONE deal 45 minutes later but also actually didnt even give their players any sort of goodbye in this post.

and it shouldn't. Just because it happens doesn't mean it should be accepted.

for me this is just as bad as violating the jack crasher. Don't say it's done if you're not willing to commit to it no matter what.

To be totally fair. I think that some of the criticisms of this deal are a tad unwarranted. The only people who were involved in the deal are the gms of PGF and COL. And to an extent MTL.

Like i said earlier. Come to your own conclusions on this one. But jesus, the cognitive dissonance with some of you is fuckin real.

The trade is over and done with. If it was a good deal for either team, that will be revealed through the actual sim this season and down the road.

There's really no point in launching into monologues about your respective management philosophies or table-manners, for or against the deal. Just let it play out.

if you wait 5 none of this will matter, but people seem to think coming in second for 5 seasons and having shitty picks is a better idea than actually trying to win and then rebuilding proper.
