S39 WJC Announcements and Applications GM/Commissioner Applications Open
#1

<div align="center">
Ladies and gentlemen the time has come to begin preparations for this coming offseason’s World Junior Championships! Applications for managing and managing jobs are officially open, and information on how to apply is available at the bottom of this announcement.

Like last season, all players who ended the current season (S39) on an SMJHL team are eligible to play in the WJC. In order to provide a better experience for a the players and managers, we have a new set of teams, some rule changes, and some tournament format changes.
</div>

Rule Changes:
1 - Teams will now have a full roster of 20 players (12 forwards, six defensemen, and two goalies).
2 -In order to accommodate having full rosters, the number of teams in the tournament has been reduced from 12 to eight.
3 - Players that have not yet been drafted, but have been approved for the draft may be chosen by managers to play in the WJC.

Format Changes:
1 - Prior to the round robin stage, the tournament will begin with an exhibition stage where every team will play each other once.
2 - The playoffs will now consist of the top two teams from each pool advancing to the playoff stage.

Team Changes:
And now, the we’ve all been waiting for. The new teams for the World Junior Championships will be as follows (in alphabetical order)!
<div align="center">
Team Canada
Team Eastern Europe (Austria, Czech Republic, Latvia, Lithuania, Russia)
Team Ireland
Team Rest of Europe (Players left after East Europe, Ireland, Scandinavia and West Europe choose their rosters)
Team Rest of North America (Players left after USA and Canada choose their rosters, plus unassigned players)
Team Scandinavia (Denmark, Finland, Norway, Sweden)
Team United States
Team Western Europe (France, Germany, Liechtenstein, Switzerland, United Kingdom)

Position Applications:
If you would like to apply for a position as a team manager or a WJC commissioner, please fill out the corresponding form and PM me. You may apply for both positions. Each team will be allowed to have a maximum of two managers (one being the head GM and the other being the assistant), and we will be taking on a maximum of two commissioners in addition to myself.

We'd really like to see everyone get involved with this and really urge anyone who's interested to apply for a manager or commissioner role. This is a great opportunity to dip your toe into the murky waters of GMing/commissioning in the SHL and could help stand you out when applying for any jobs in the future. Good luck to all teams, and good luck to everyone who applies!
