PbP claim lottery

Maybe that happens once a season.

Terminate PBPs.

How many have you read this season?

In spite of the abysmal scheduling, I'd argue half of these have been really good.

So no - BUT can we take a look at 10 TPE? Holy shit that seems like a lot.

Maybe reduce the payout once we go back to the old update scale.

Alonzo Garbanzo Final Tallies (Among Defensemen):
2nd in Goals (208), All-Time Assists Leader (765)*, All-Time Points Leader (973), 3rd in Hits (2587), All-Time Blocked Shots Leader (1882)*
*All-Time Leader Among All Skaters

Ah, yknow, that's a fair point. It's like +1 1/4 to something.

Snarky but fair, ArGar. Don't break your own mold. Wink

I would be happy with a lottery, pretty much impossible to get one if the claims open at 2am? my local time. Thankfully I was gaming late and got game 7 for the SHL finals but what's the chance it gets there

preachhhhhhhh, I claimed the game last night at 1am my time and didn't get finished till about half 4 in the morning Blink

Please don't go claiming that i was closed to ideas. It's totally false and i spent my 3 seasons as PBP director trying to come up with a new solution everytime before being destroyed by the community when i proposed it with logical arguement.

Count Chocula idea is the first time i see it, so you didnt really pitched it to me. what you pitched was the 'overall random' like a few other did and in no case was it including a scehduling before the randomization.

That being said, <a href='index.php?showuser=1237' rel='nofollow' alt='profile link' class='user-tagged mgroup-59'>Count Chocula</a> you have great ideas&nbsp; Wink
I mean, normally I don't bother, but you're so wrong here

Nothing about my suggestion is random, I DID pitch it to you, and you DID dismiss it as "how it already is supposed to be" which it clearly isn't.

How about this.

Anyone like this system claims the PbP. But the thread has to be posted 24h before it gets fuckin opened instead of fucking 2h. And the HO/someone/PbP Manager decides out of 10 TPE how much that person deserves. 1-10 TPE . Like following a rubric for pbp

I would like to see a grade scale for the PbPs, but I think it would have to always err on the side of full TPE, and only subtract TPE for PbPs that show a complete lack of effort. Give some incentive to giving the PbP your full effort, and I think then you'll see the overall quality improve. If you're going to give people the benefit of the doubt for the TPE, then I think we'd have to reduce the max TPE available, or limit the number of PbPs one user can do.

That's the way a grading scale should be, in my opinion. Unless someone clearly gives less effort compared to the majority of the group, we should be aiming to try and give everyone as close to the maximum amount of TPE as possible.

I also wouldn't be against reducing the amount of TPE a PBP gives either.

I pray they one day add the ability to force some effort, there were a couple terrible PBP’s this season.

I think you'd really have to give some feedback though, and try to help them improve. Most people bomb their first PbP or two, but I think everyone who does a PbP would want to know how to make it more enjoyable.

Ok way to pick only part of the conversation, you are right you never mentioned randomness, that i agree with you, but you did mention the queue thing in the conversation, which going back over it i missread as the scrambled one. But in no case did you present to me what count did with the randomness after the schedule availability. You only mentioned to me the way the pbp ARE currently assigned. I fail to see how it's not what you described.

"you say game 1 is on monday at 7pm and a user sign up based on their availability"
Right now we say 'well game one is simmed monday at 7pm' and user sign up based on their availability to be able to do it at the time we mention. After like i told you, it come on a person basis and there is no idylic world that user will be present at exactly 7pm to do the pbp.

Full support here but the problem is that not everyone agrees on what makes a PBP good. I love the long PBPs so long as they have good pacing and timing but others, Sweg for example, hate those and would prefer to see 1 big post - which, in turn, I hate. There are definitely low-effort PBPs but it'd be hard to come up with a rubric that allowed PBPs of various lengths/types to have the shot at full marks.
