Past Seasons: S29-100, S30-79, S31-37, S32-33, S33-25, S34-12, S35-3, S36-4, S37-10 S38-11 S39-30

Dropping in the list is Luke Fleming of the Winnipeg Jets, dropping in points the last three seasons and this time crashing down to a poor 27 points, the lowest point totals he has ended with since he started out in S28, his sophomore season. His goal scoring has even dropped, scoring only 13 points on the season, and overall hasn't done much to make up for the lack of offense.

88. (S22) D (Winnipeg Jets) - Big Manious || -71

Past Seasons: S27-42, S28-41, S29-45, S30-32, S31-22, S32-68, S33-41, S34-11, S35-32, S36-39, S37-31 S38-21 S39-17

Talk about a fall from grace, Big Manious drops 71 spots to enter the list at 88, scoring 4 goals and only 16 points. What exactly happened, because it is not often a player who scores 40+ points is reduced to nothing the following season. Did he just stop caring? Did the Jets misuse him? Either way, the fact he is even on the list at this point is a testament to how much past production can keep you afloat here.

87. (S22) D (Manhattan Rage) - Bubba Nuck || -67

Past Seasons: S24-98, S26-59, S28-51, S29-74, S30-63, S31-3, S32-40, S33-69, S34-73, S35-14, S36-10, S37-4 S38-14 S39-20

Another defender with a big drop is Bubba Nuck at 87, scoring 5 goals and 25 points, playing fewer than 18 minutes a night, and even losing the physical edge he had in previous seasons. Nuck enjoyed a run of 6 straight seasons without a sub-30 point performance, but some times the inconsistencies stick with you even when you think they are behind you.

86. (S36) LW (New England Wolfpack) - Oisin Fletcher || New Entry

Past Seasons: None

New entry on the list is Oisin Fletcher, making a big name for himself scoring 13 goals and 37 points at wing, his second season and already demonstrating he may have some real chops to be a top tier talent in the league. His minutes played is going up, the number of hits is going up, and he is getting special teams consideration which means he could be a major two-way threat.

85. (S21) RW (Texas Renegades) - Theo Kane || -26
Grade: 76
Past Seasons: S23-75, S24-77, S25-56, S26-76, S27-57, S28-20, S29-32, S30-1, S31-13, S32-10, S33-12, S34-1, S35-10, S36-12, S37-18 S38-35 S39-59

At 85 is Theo Kane, now playing for the Renegades as a veteran who doesn't appear to know where to go at this point in his career. One of the greatest wingers of the S20s, has actually kept pace as a major contributor for the majority of his career, and only recently has seen his numbers dwindle. Kane scored 17 goals and 30 points in S39, and while that isn't entirely great for someone who broke the 60 point threshold (when it didn't happen as often as it does now), it is pretty decent all things considered.

84. (S33) D (Minnesota Chiefs) - Eero HÃ¤mÃ¤lÃ¤inen || +16
Grade: 76.50
Past Seasons: S38-99 S39-100

At 84 is Eero Eero HÃ¤mÃ¤lÃ¤inen, breaking out of the 90s and in the elite 80s (or some name that is clever). Eero HÃ¤mÃ¤lÃ¤inen scored 5 goals and 24 points, which isn't exactly what the Chiefs were expecting from him, but production is production, and they would probably prefer a consistent producer than someone who sometimes shows up and then sometimes doesn't. Unfortunately it is getting close to regression time, and HÃ¤mÃ¤lÃ¤inen hasn't exactly shown a ton of elite upside yet, so it may never happen in his career.

83. (S36) D (Calgary Dragons) - Roman Augustus || New Entry
Grade: 76.70
Past Seasons: None

New entry Roman Augustus enters the list at 83, with a big breakout season which saw him score 9 goals and 36 points, something you don't see a lot from a defender in only his second season. He even registered 61 hits and scored 12 power play points, which is quite incredible. The Dragons may have found yet another diamond in the rough in this player, but we are going to need more than one season of good production before we assume this is the case.

82. (S26) RW (Buffalo Stampede) - Don Pellegrino || +15
Grade: 76.80
Past Seasons: S33-87, S34-39, S35-51, S36-68, S37-25 S38-70 S39-97

At 82 is Don Pellegrino, with a new team in the Stampede and the last of the Pellegrino brothers to remain (as we have mentioned before). Don Pellegrino has shown his chops yet again, scoring 16 goals and 34 points, the 9th season in a row with 30+ points, and that isn't anything to scoff at when you don't always get put in the best places to succeed.

81. (S31) D (Buffalo Stampede) - Brynjar Tusk || -12
Grade: 76.90
Past Seasons: , S37-75 S38-95 S39-69

At 81 is Brynjar Tusk, dropping a bit after it looked like he was poised to reach the top-50. Tusk has been relegated to the "not too bad but very forgettable" category of players, with his second straight 20+ point season but unable to break the 40 point plateau yet in his career. Not uncommon as a defender, at least. Tusk scored 2 goals and 25 points with the Stampede, but the -20 plus minus was not something you think of as terribly impressive.

80. (S23) D (Calgary Dragons) - Michael Boychuk || -9
Grade: 77.30
Past Seasons: S28-97, S29-67, S30-53, S31-41, S32-25, S33-67, S34-57, S35-50, S36-50, S37-59 S38-45 S39-71

At 80 is Dragons defender Michael Boychuk, another player to drop a bit on the list but not for a lack of trying. Boychuk actually had a decent season with the Dragons in S39, scoring 4 goals and 32 points, with a very impressive +21 plus minus and even scoring 11 power play points. Other than that, he wasn't even on the radar, but nothing wrong with being good in some ways, especially when you are way into regression like he is.

79. (S31) D (Los Angeles Panthers) - Matthew Leetch || +15
Grade: 77.30
Past Seasons: S39-94

At 79 is Panthers defender Matthew Leetch, jumping up 15 spots with a career best season where he scored 8 goals and 34 points, though the defensive prowess left a little to be desired as he was a -10 on the season. He did get back into the physical game, but he appeared to be all over the place as far as coverage and positioning, which hurt him in the rankings.

78. (S31) RW (Hamilton Steelhawks) - Brennan Kennedy || -16
Grade: 77.50
Past Seasons: S35-78, S37-888 S38-49 S39-62

Coming in at 78 is Bennand Kennedy of the Steelhawks, the winger who has been getting into his groove as of late despite dropping on the list. Kennedy scored 11 goals and 35 points, the 7th 30+ point season in a row and one of the most consistent careers in his draft class as far as production. He even got back into the swing of things with 106 hits, and reduced the number of times he went into the box, as well as improving his defensive abilities.

77. (S35) D (West Kendall Platoon) - Finn KrÃ¼ger || +5
Grade: 77.90
Past Seasons: S39-82

At 77 is Platoon defender Finn KrÃ¼ger, jumping a few spots and getting into the 30+ point range with his season production, scoring 5 goals as well. KrÃ¼ger is one of the new up and coming defenders looking to make a place in the league, which may be difficult considering the amount of high profile defensemen that are currently in the league going into S40. Youth will be a factor, and his ability to adapt his game will tell the difference between him becoming a premier player or just a pretty good one.

76. (S33) D (Winnipeg Jets) - Isaac Cormier-Hale || New Entry
Grade: 77.90
Past Seasons: None

At 76 is new entry Isaac Cormier-Hale, a Winnipeg Jet with a lot of potential despite an extended stay in the SMJHL and a lot of pundits not thinking he has what it takes to make it into the SHL at all. However, Cormier-Hale is proving all the doubters wrong with a 5 goal, 40 point season, and with plenty of room to grow. He will certainly need to keep building on that if he wants to build up his resume and become a top-tier defenseman in this league.

75. (S26) LW (New England Wolfpack) - Mainio Makinen || -12
Grade: 78.30
Past Seasons: S31-72, S32-44, S33-66, S34-48, S35-7, S36-14, S37-65 S38-82 S39-63

At 75 is Mainio Makinen of the New England Wolfpack, unable to recapture his former glory (and as a S26 player how would you expect him to?) and dropping on the list again. Makinen scored 13 goals and 33 points, which is almost a carbon copy of the season he had in S37, although his defensive game has certainly improved as he has gotten wiser.

74. (S33) RW (Minnesota Chiefs) - Halfdan Thorstein || +2
Grade: 78.50
Past Seasons: , S37-83 S38-81 S39-76

At 74 is Chiefs winger Halfdan Thorstein, making another small but noticed jump in the rankings despite the drop in production. Thorstein scored 16 goals and 33 points, a marked difference from the 23 goals and 45 points he scored with the cup winners, and just about everything about his season was a bit underwhelming in comparison. It seems the previous rankings may not have been as kind to the young player as he deserved.

73. (S31) C (San Francisco Pride) - Isaac Kaiser || +4
Grade: 78.80
Past Seasons: S39-77

At 73 is Pride center Isaac Kaiser, making a decent name for himself now that he has finally broken the list (and perhaps put the atrocious seasons to start his career behind him). Kaiser scored 13 goals and 36 points, and while he continues to be a minus player, he still finds ways to contribute. His 128 hits was again a demonstration of his physical play, although when you see that many hits from a player with such a low plus minus, you wonder if the two are related.

72. (S23) D (Texas Renegades) - Vladimir Lidstrom || Returning Entry
Grade: 78.90
Past Seasons: S27-94, S28-82, S29-62, S30-59, S31-9, S32-7, S33-10, S34-23, S35-37, S36-69

Back on the list is Vladimir Lidstrom, still trucking and looking like he is back in the game despite many thinking to the contrary. Lidstrom scored 10 goals and 355 points, the first time he has scored over 30 points since S34, which is a long time when you think of this league. Lidstrom was even a career best +17 on the season, which means it is possible Lidstrom has figured out what he needs to do to stay relevant in this league.

71. (S22) G (Toronto North Stars) - Mark Harter || +15

Past Seasons: S24-101, S25-78, S26-89, S27-69, S28-22, S29-25, S30-30, S31-44, S32-17, S33-55, S34-53, S35-23, S36-58, S37-70 S38-87 S39-86

At 71 is Mark Harter, the goaltender who just refuses to quit. Harter hasn't quite gotten his game together as of late, despite many thinking he would be a long-time elite goaltender and even break the all-time wins record. Harter went 16-19-3, and despite his improvement as far as goals against were concerned, didn't exactly matter much considering his team is in the middle of a rebuilding season. And with the number of starts dwindling, this may be the last of Harter as a major starter in this league.

70. (S32) D (Minnesota Chiefs) - Noctis Caelum || -33
Grade: 79.20
Past Seasons: S37-97 S38-79 S39-37

Noctis Caelum drops on the list at 70, unable to quite get back to the S38 coming out party where he scored 12 goals and 49 points. The bout of inconsistency could be a major mark on this man's career, especially since this isn't the first time we have seen his numbers go back and forth. Caelum has a lot of improvements to make in production and in the intangible aspects of the game if he wants to get back into the top-50, because just relying on offensive gifts will not cut it.

69. (S33) LW (West Kendall Platoon) - John Langabeer || New Entry
Grade: 79.20
Past Seasons: None

At 69 is John Langabeer, a new entry on the list due to getting back to his old tricks (having two seasons with 30+ points already) and scoring 20 goals and 42 points. Langabeer continued to improve with his physical tools as well, making him a bigger threat each and every season. It is possible he deserved to be on this list in previous seasons, but he certainly earned it this season.

68. (S30) C (Los Angeles Panthers) - Jean-Luc Reflieux || -7
Grade: 80.20
Past Seasons: S34-96, S35-97, S36-99, S37-43 S38-73 S39-61

Falling back is Jean-Luc Reflieux, who has had a rocky back and forth career so far, albeit with some pretty good production mixed in. Reflieux scored 15 goals and 35 points, not matching his 46 point season a year ago and failing to come close to his 50 point campaign two seasons prior to that. However, this season his physicality has ramped up, and with these being his prime years we could see that lead to improved production for S40.

67. (S28) G (New England Wolfpack) - Mikke Laukkanen || -18
Grade: 80.40
Past Seasons: S32-61, S33-30, S34-17, S35-25, S36-27, S37-34 S38-75 S39-49

At 67 is Mikke Laukkanen, a goaltender who doesn't get a whole lot of press but continues to do their thing each season. Laukkanen went 23-16-4, and seemed to do just okay in S39, not really terrible but not all that great, either. Considering he is continuing into regression, it is unknown exactly how he will do for the Wolfpack going forward, especially when the team is looking to finish up their rebuild and become a contender again.

66. (S30) C (West Kendall Platoon) - Jon Ross || +33
Grade: 80.40
Past Seasons: S33-89, S34-84, S35-58, S36-63, S37-92 S38-98 S39-99

Jon Ross jumps up on the list at 66, looking like he might actually crack the top-50 this time. Ross scored 17 goals and 42 points, an impressive run and close to his career high back in S34 with the Steelhawks. Ross even earned a career high in hits with 87, and tied his career high in powerplay points with 13. However, with regression hitting and his point production only good but not great, Ross will need to figure things out if he wants to crack the top-50.

65. (S31) RW (San Francisco Pride) - Jacob Renninger || +28
Grade: 81.40
Past Seasons: S39-93

At 65 is Jacob Renninger, a late bloomer who is looking to hit his stride with his 12 goals and 40 points. Unfortunately, being on a Pride team that isn't exactly sure of what direction they want to head in, was -10 on the year, his second minus season in a row, and without any other defensive tools could be mired in this position if he doesn't figure things out.

64. (S30) D (San Francisco Pride) - Victor Lindstrom || +24
Grade: 82.20
Past Seasons: S39-88

Victor Lindstrom enters the list at 64, just in time for regression to ruin his day. Lindstrom didn't score as many points as he did in S38, and his -26 was among the worst in the league, but Lindstrom demonstrated that he individually was doing the little things right. As mentioned before the Pride have had some issues with team defense and consistency, and Lindstrom has been one of the few players actually putting up some defensive abilities out there.

63. (S28) D (New England Wolfpack) - Mia Landvik || -23
Grade: 82.40
Past Seasons: S35-56, S36-60, S38-65 S39-40

At 63 is Mia Landvik of the Wolfpack, a defender who started to get a little profile early in her career, but has struggled to gain that notoriety again. Landvik scored 9 goals and 35 points, similar to last season, but her major claim to fame in recent seasons is her propensity to lay the body. She registered a career high 212 hits, something nobody expected from someone like Landvik, and despite her regression still contributes to her team.

62. (S29) LW (Edmonton Blizzard) - Harry Hans || -11
Grade: 82.4
Past Seasons: S33-42, S34-45, S35-24, S36-16, S37-33 S38-72 S39-51

At 62 is Harry Hans, now a Blizzard winger and riding the wave of problems that Edmonton has had to face recently. Hans scored 19 goals and 35 points, well below the previous season (and most of his career with the Rage), all this despite a high number of shots on net. It seems coaches are worried about Hans's play offensively due to regression, as he has seen reduced minutes of late on the powerplay, hurting his production.

61. (S25) C (Minnesota Chiefs) - Jonathan Lundberg || -34
Grade: 82.50
Past Seasons: 30-82, S31-94, S32-65, S33-59, S34-49, S35-27, S36-30, S37-58 S38-36 S39-27

At 61 is Jonathan Lundberg of the Minnesota Chiefs, joining his 6th team since coming up to the SHL in S28. Despite his advanced age compared to most of his peers, Lundberg has been able to be a solid contributor, scoring 14 goals and 39 points, as well as registering 203 shots and 201 hits, which is quite the threat to opposing defenders even if he has had issues putting the puck in the net himself. Lundberg's presence was a major factor in the Chiefs winning their first cup since S12, and despite being deep into regression could keep that up.

60. (S31) D (New England Wolfpack) - Toivo Kosonen || -14
Grade: 82.80
Past Seasons: S36-76, S37-76 S38-84 S39-46

At 60 is Toivo Kosonen, dropping back in the list a bit and out of the top-50 with his 6 goals and 30 points. 30 Points is nothing to sneeze at for a defenseman, and Kosonen has had 6 straight seasons with that amount, however when you want to be a top-50 player or better, you have to bring more to the table, and Kosonen has been unable to do that so far in his career.
