A Look at Free Agency S41
#1

With the off season officially upon us it is the time of year where players will hit the market and teams will see some shake ups. Most teams will build primarily through the draft, but with a good year of free agency it is possible for a team's front office to make the jump from contender to champion or from bottom dweller to contender.

I am hoping to put together a reoccurring piece that takes a look at free agency and the players that will be hitting it and seeing where they end up, why they went there, and what it means for the league. As the first installment in this series I am going to do a relatively quick run down of the players that are currently listed as free agents on the budget pages of teams. Obviously, there are likely to be a few inaccuracies here, but with time we will get them sorted.

By the time this article was finalized the first dominoes of free agency fell so I will break those down in the near future and update the free agent tracker, but first, lets take a look at each of the teams.

<div align="center"> BUFFALO
[Image: ekj2pv.png]
Season 31 Adam Dadswell - F - 155 TPE - Unrestricted Free Agent - Buffalo Stampede Stampede
Season 26 Don Pellegrino - F - 731 TPE - Unrestricted Free Agent - Buffalo Stampede Stampede
Season 25 Ivan Koroviev - F - 657 TPE - Unrestricted Free Agent - Buffalo Stampede Stampede
Season 38 Tatu Makela - D - 752 TPE - Unrestricted Free Agent - Buffalo Stampede Stampede
Season 39 Viktor Kolesnikovs - D - 298 TPE - Restricted Free Agent - Buffalo Stampede Stampede

Buffalo is a team that I think you could say is on the rise, even if it is only because when you spend a significant amount of time at rock bottom you've got to start to get better...but regardless, I think they are making some good moves and are really on the upswing. Obviously, there are a couple of older players that could be hitting free agency that are likely to make an impact and be solid contributors but are not going to be complete game changers. Those are veteran presences that are good to have around filling out rosters. However, the biggest free agent on this list that Buffalo needs to lock down long term is Tatu Makela. Tatu is a young defensive player that has not even hit their prime yet. However, they are progressing at an impressive level and have the potential to be a star in the league in teh coming seasons. The average free agent from Tatu's draft class is sitting at 429 TPE and Tatu could be hitting the market at 752. This is not the kind of player you want to leave the building, this is the type of player that you can build your future around. If Buffalo hopes to keep moving towards being a factor in the league and the post season they cannot let players like Tatu go. I am confident that if tests the market, they will find some nice offers from other teams around the league.

STEELHAWKS
[Image: latamYI.png]
Season 36 Chuck Bernstein - F - 226 TPE - Unrestricted Free Agent - Hamilton Steelhawks Steelhawks
Season 34 Robert Haugen - F - 234 TPE - Unrestricted Free Agent - Hamilton Steelhawks Steelhawks
Season 30 Frans Erichsen - F - 232 TPE - Unrestricted Free Agent - Hamilton Steelhawks Steelhawks
Season 33 Zander Rhys - D - 1521 TPE - Unrestricted Free Agent - Hamilton Steelhawks Steelhawks
Season 37 Jay Bae - G - 865 TPE - Unrestricted Free Agent - Hamilton Steelhawks Steelhawks

The Steelhawks are a middling team that has a lot of solid player's on its roster. In Hamilton they are looking at several average role players that are likely to be easily replaced and will not see massive deals or an abundance of offers in free agency. However, two names here should catch your eye immediately. First, the Steelhawks goalie Jay Bae is set to hit free agency after being the top goalie in Hamilton for the last several seasons. Jay Bae isitting at a very respectable 865 TPE and is still improving each season. The average player from the season 37 draft class hitting free agency is sitting at only 337 TPE, so Jay Bae is well beyond her class. Furthermore, she has a lot of years ahead of her where she can hold down the back end and make an impact for a team. If Jay Bae somehow walks in free agency, Hamilton will have a glaring need at a key position, so this is a player that will be critical to monitor going forward. Additionally, Zander Rhys made the list as well. We mentioned Tatu could be hitting the market from Buffalo and several suitors chasing the young defensive player for their potential, but Zander Rhys is a defensive player that is in their prime and could be a big impact player for any team in the league. Zander is sitting at an impressive 1521 TPE, compared to just a 732 average for free agents in his class. Zander could join any team and immediately make them better by improving their defensive core, likely on the first line for just about any team with a lot of good years of hockey to be played in his career. It will be interesting to see how Zander's free agency unfolds, but he is very likely to be the crown jewel of the off season. I would be shocked if he is not coveted by just about every team in the league. By the time you read this article, he will likely have fielded several enticing offers.

RAGE
[Image: 2432nnb.png]
None!!!
The Manhattan Rage may have the most interesting free agent class in the league. They have none! Obviously the Rage have had their share of issues in recent years with fluid leadership positions that we won't relive here today. But despite these potential issues and changes, every player on the roster currently has plans to stay with the team for at least one more season. I think this is a testament to the job that their new general manager and front office is doing after the turmoil that precluded their hirings. Props to Manhattan, free agency is only an opportunity for them to improve this season.

CHIEFS
[Image: 2u7t2sh.png]
Season 32 Charlotta Caspari - G - 202 TPE - Unrestricted Free Agent - Minnesota Chiefs Chiefs
Season 25 Lord Pretty Flacko - F - 1437 TPE - Unrestricted Free Agent - Minnesota Chiefs Chiefs
Season 32 Terrance Nova - F - 1800 TPE - Unrestricted Free Agent - Minnesota Chiefs Chiefs
Season 29 Sebastian Strange - F - 1645 TPE - Unrestricted Free Agent - Minnesota Chiefs Chiefs
Season 30 Karl Hertzberg - F - 261 TPE - Unrestricted Free Agent - Minnesota Chiefs Chiefs
Season 38 Dick Skillstedt - F - 761 TPE - Unrestricted Free Agent - Minnesota Chiefs Chiefs
Season 37 Sam McGrizzley - C - 210 TPE - Unrestricted Free Agent - Minnesota Chiefs Chiefs
Season 21 Alonzo Garbanzo - D - 1245 TPE - Unrestricted Free Agent - Minnesota Chiefs Chiefs
Season 32 Noctis Caelum - D - 1215 TPE - Unrestricted Free Agent - Minnesota Chiefs Chiefs
Season 40 Rodovan Hudec - F - 306 TPE - Unrestricted Free Agent - Minnesota Chiefs Chiefs
Season 39 Grayson St. Reagan - F - 375 TPE - Unrestricted Free Agent - Minnesota Chiefs Chiefs
Season 39 Sebastian Primeau - G - 409 TPE - Unrestricted Free Agent - Minnesota Chiefs Chiefs

Minnesota was one game away from a championship, but unfortunately they were not able to get it done against the Dragons. If you look at their list of free agents, it looks like they may be far off from competing for the challenge cup again. There are stars all around that may be testing the market. Lord Pretty Flacko is the first forward we will discuss, with an impressive 1437 TPE. Now Flacko is aging but with his current skills he has at least 3 seasons left where he could make a big impact on a team looking for help on the front end. Flacko is not going to be a player for a team that is several seasons from being a contender, but if you are close this is the kind of guy that can push you over the hump. Next we have another forward that is nearing the peak of their prime. Terrance Nova has 1800 TPE and if you caught the finals you likely saw it put to use. Nova has quite a few good seasons left and would be an instant improvement on the front end of any team in the league. Nova is a player that could make just about any team in the league a little bit scary. Nova is a star hitting free agency and teams will be making pitches as soon as they can, and with good reason. Next up, is a younger forward than the first two we've discussed, Dick Skillstedt. Dick still has not reached their prime by they are making stride to be an elite forward in the future with 761 TPE relative to the 429 that their class is averaging. Dick could be a solid contributor on the first day of season 41 and in a few years will be a star. Dick is the kind of player that I would covet as a general manager, because they are young enough for you to build a dynasty around. Alonzo Garbanzo is a legend in the Simulation Hockey League. After 20 seasons he is still going strong with 1245 TPE at the defensive position. Now obviously Garbanzo is a bit past his prime, but it is clear he still has something left in the tank. This is the kind of veteran player that can push a contender over the mountain to a championship. I do not anticipate Garbanzo being the new face of a franchise, but he could be a key piece for just about anybody. And after all of those names we still are not done with the Chiefs! Lastly, we have Noctis Caelum who is another defender that you likely saw during the previous championship. Caelum is in his prime and should have quite a few solid seasons ahead of them. Currently Caelum sits at 1215 TPE which is above their class average of just 539. Caelum is another commodity that is proven in the league and should have opportunities to improve many teams throughout the league. Obviously, the Chiefs class is full of stars that are seeing their contracts come to an end. However, despite the loss in the finals this season, I would be surprised if many of these players are not retained and stay in Minnesota. Regardless, this should be an interesting off season for the Chiefs and their fans.

WOLFPACK
[Image: mrrdk5.png]
Season 25 Jasper Clayton - D - 1245 TPE - Unrestricted Free Agent - New England Wolfpack Wolfpack
Season 30 Cara Hohenberg - D - 696 TPE - Unrestricted Free Agent - New England Wolfpack Wolfpack
Season 31 Toivo Kosonen - D - 1660 TPE - Unrestricted Free Agent - New England Wolfpack Wolfpack
Season 34 Carmeron DuBois - D - 754 TPE - Unrestricted Free Agent - New England Wolfpack Wolfpack
Season 26 Mainio Makinen - F - 788 TPE - Unrestricted Free Agent - New England Wolfpack Wolfpack
Season 24 Patrikov Bure - F - 941 TPE - Unrestricted Free Agent - New England Wolfpack Wolfpack
Season 27 Raven Silverwing - F - 1274 TPE - Unrestricted Free Agent - New England Wolfpack Wolfpack
Season 30 Jason Forbrook - F - 656 TPE - Unrestricted Free Agent - New England Wolfpack Wolfpack
Season 35 Spitfire - D - 1134 TPE - Unrestricted Free Agent - New England Wolfpack Wolfpack
Season 36 Oisin Fletcher - F - 1171 TPE - Unrestricted Free Agent - New England Wolfpack Wolfpack
Season 32 Art Vandalay - C - 155 TPE - Unrestricted Free Agent - New England Wolfpack Wolfpack
Season 33 Sebastian Thompson - G - 394 TPE - Unrestricted Free Agent - New England Wolfpack Wolfpack
Season 23 Artemi Berezin - F - 623 TPE - Unrestricted Free Agent - New England Wolfpack Wolfpack
Season 24 Jack Burton - F - 670 TPE - Unrestricted Free Agent - New England Wolfpack Wolfpack
Season 39 Julian O' Sullivan - G - 238 TPE - Restricted Free Agent - New England Wolfpack Wolfpack
Season 38 Hugh Manatee - F - 155 TPE - Unrestricted Free Agent - New England Wolfpack Wolfpack
Season 37 Thomas Reynolds - C - 161 TPE - Unrestricted Free Agent - New England Wolfpack Wolfpack
Season 40 Manual Gotze - F - 297 TPE - Unrestricted Free Agent - New England Wolfpack Wolfpack
Season 40 Viktor Valentine - D - 237 TPE - Unrestricted Free Agent - New England Wolfpack Wolfpack
Season 40 Max Hansen - F - 169 TPE - Unrestricted Free Agent - New England Wolfpack Wolfpack

The Wolfpack is another playoff caliber team that has quite the list of free agents. Among these players are many middling role players that can still make a solid impact for their teams and could be targets later in free agency. However, there are some stars here too. First there are two defenders that have some good years ahead of them that teams have to be eyeing. Jasper Clayton and Toivo Kosonen are sitting at 1245 TPE and 1660 TPE, respectively. Obviously, both of these players are beyond the average TPE of their classes and can be immediate impact players for teams. If both of them somehow walk from New England in free agency they would see some obvious struggles defensively. In addition to these veterans there are some other big names on the list for the Wolfpack. First we have the young defensive player Spitfire who is sitting at 1134 TPE compared to a class average of 773. Spitfire has yet to reach his prime and can already be a star on several teams. This is the kind of guy that is the present and the future of a franchise. To make matters even worse, he is not the only one in this category for New England! Oisin Fletcher is a young forward with 1171 TPE and is a year YOUNGER than Spitfire. Fletcher is going to make an immediate impact on the front end for any team in the league and should be doing it for a LOOOONG time to come. These are once again the types of players that teams DO NOT want to let leave the franchise. I would be shocked if Spitfire of Fletcher made it out of New England, but if they do, it would be foolish for the other teams in the league to not pursue them hard.

NORTH STARS
[Image: 2dba1yh.png]
Season 36 Sinn Nolan - F - 195 TPE - Unrestricted Free Agent - Toronto North Stars Stars
Season 33 Smirnov Light Jr - F - 499 TPE - Unrestricted Free Agent - Toronto North Stars Stars

Season 32 Cloud Strife - D - 202 TPE - Unrestricted Free Agent - Toronto North Stars Stars
Season 33 Tommy Salami - D - 638 TPE - Unrestricted Free Agent - Toronto North Stars Stars
Season 35 Jack Hansen - D - 535 TPE - Unrestricted Free Agent - Toronto North Stars Stars
Season 37 Anze Barbashev - D - 262 TPE - Unrestricted Free Agent - Toronto North Stars Stars
Season 38 John Grossman Jr - D - 337 TPE - Unrestricted Free Agent - Toronto North Stars Stars
Season 38 Mark Raney - D - 155 TPE - Unrestricted Free Agent - Toronto North Stars Stars
Season 22 Mark Harter - G - 432 TPE - Unrestricted Free Agent - Toronto North Stars Stars
Season 33 Dante Gallo - F - 504 TPE - Unrestricted Free Agent - Toronto North Stars Stars
Season 34 Elias Lindstrom - F - 1034 TPE - Unrestricted Free Agent - Toronto North Stars Stars
Season 20 Kristian Eriksson - F - 1000 TPE - Unrestricted Free Agent - Toronto North Stars Stars
Season 38 Bobby Watson - F - 746 TPE - Unrestricted Free Agent - Toronto North Stars Stars
Season 32 Yason Vassilios - F - 188 TPE - Unrestricted Free Agent - Toronto North Stars Stars
Season 38 Paddy Kane-Reilly - F - 485 TPE - Unrestricted Free Agent - Toronto North Stars Stars
Season 40 Aleksandr Aleksandrov Jr - G - 194 TPE - Restricted Free Agent - Toronto North Stars Stars

The North Stars have two players that are currently top tier talent on their list. Elias Lindstrom is just hitting their prime at the forward position and Kristian Eriksson is on the back end of their career. These two blue chip players are sitting at 1034 TPE and 1000 TPE, but are at different points in their careers. Lindstrom could join a team and have an impact for another 15 seasons. On the other side of the coin, Eriksson does not have a lot of time left as a top player, but could remain a solid role player for seasons to come. No team in the league is going to turn their nose up at these players and that is only if they are not kept around in Toronto. In addition, there is a lot of young talent not currently under contract. Paddy Kane-Reilly is a young forward with a solid foundation of 485 TPE. Bobby Watson is another young player at the forward position that is working to make a name for themselves as they come up through the league with an impressive 746 TPE.

PLATOON

Information on the West Kendall Platoon's free agent's was a bit harder to track down. Currently the list is not compiled and we will have to update it as more information becomes available.

DRAGONS
[Image: 4jun10.png]
Season 39 Michael Fischer - F - 404 TPE - Unrestricted Free Agent - Calgary Dragons Dragons
Season 38 Hunter Jones - F - 575 TPE - Unrestricted Free Agent - Calgary Dragons Dragons
Season 32 Walter Krysak - F - 183 TPE - Unrestricted Free Agent - Calgary Dragons Dragons
Season 31 Joe Kurczewski - F - 2099 TPE - Unrestricted Free Agent - Calgary Dragons Dragons
Season 22 Alex Mack - F - 1003 TPE - Unrestricted Free Agent - Calgary Dragons Dragons
Season 20 Nicholas Pedersen - F - 817 TPE - Unrestricted Free Agent - Calgary Dragons Dragons
Season 39 Fenten Uriel - F - 353 TPE - Unrestricted Free Agent - Calgary Dragons Dragons
Season 36 Casey Creller - D - 966 TPE - Unrestricted Free Agent - Calgary Dragons Dragons
Season 31 Adam Kaiser - D - 1873 TPE - Unrestricted Free Agent - Calgary Dragons Dragons
Season 22 Pierre-Luc Laflamme - D - 571 TPE - Unrestricted Free Agent - Calgary Dragons Dragons
Season 39 Ostap Maksimov - D - 605 TPE - Unrestricted Free Agent - Calgary Dragons Dragons
Season 28 Hunky Monkey - D - 801 TPE - Unrestricted Free Agent - Calgary Dragons Dragons
Season 33 Thaddues Prince - G - 629 TPE - Unrestricted Free Agent - Calgary Dragons Dragons
Season 39 Friedrich Schmidt - G - 288 TPE - Unrestricted Free Agent - Calgary Dragons Dragons

The Calgary Dragons are the reigning league champions and they have some BIG names on this list. The one that should immediately catch your eye is arguably the best player in the league, foward Joe Kurczewski. Joe Kurczewski has 2099 TPE and is a monster on and off the ice. Any team that signs Joe Kurczewski is going to be A LOT better immediately. Here's another player that the Dragons certainly cannot let leave. In addition to Joe, the Dragons have several other key names here included Alex Mack another forward with 1003 TPE and a few more seasons in him, Adam Kaiser a solid defender with 1873 TPE and just at the pinnacle of his career, and several younger players that could be great "gets" in free agency. These players are Michael Fischer, Hunter Jones, Casey Creller, and Ostap Maksimov. All of these players would be great additions to any team as they are young and improving with their best seasons still ahead of them.

BLIZZARD
[Image: EDMB1.png]
Season 26 Mattias Holmberg - D - 1052 TPE - Unrestricted Free Agent - Edmonton Blizzard Blizzard
Season 39 Pete Walker - F - 269 TPE - Restricted Free Agent - Edmonton Blizzard Blizzard

The Blizzard are an interesting case here because of how short their list is. The biggest player here is Mattias Holmberg who is a solid defender but approaching the twilight of his career. Obviously, Holmberg could still be a solid contributor to any team on the back end and if he tests the market there will be a solid one available to him.

PANTHERS
[Image: wstd88.png]
Season 27 Maximilian Wachter - F - 1651 TPE - Unrestricted Free Agent - Los Angeles Panthers Panthers
Season 35 Wolf von Hammersmark - F - 777 TPE - Unrestricted Free Agent - Los Angeles Panthers Panthers
Season 39 Markus Meliodas - F - 358 TPE - Unrestricted Free Agent - Los Angeles Panthers Panthers
Season 23 Lukas Johnson - D - 380 TPE - Unrestricted Free Agent - Los Angeles Panthers Panthers
Season 36 Luisa Koller - D - 405 TPE - Unrestricted Free Agent - Los Angeles Panthers Panthers

The Los Angeles Panthers are another team with a relatively short list of free agents. The biggest name here is forward Maximilian Wachter who is an asset on the ice with 1651 TPE and just beginning the end of his career, he has several solid years ahead of him. There are some younger players here that could also be difference makers including another two forwards Wolf von Hammersmark and Markus Meliodas who have not hit their primes yet but are on their way to being solid role players. A sleep free agent could be a younger defender Luisa Koller, who has a respectable 405 TPE and is still quite young. Los Angeles is in a transitional phase so keeping some of these younger players is going to be critical to their long term success.

PRIDE
[Image: 0IRlNb2.png]
Season 31 Geronimo Otto - F - 1636 TPE - Unrestricted Free Agent - San Francisco Pride pride
Season 36 Dakota Reid - F - 610 TPE - Unrestricted Free Agent - San Francisco Pride pride
Season 38 Kyler Gill - F - 498 TPE - Unrestricted Free Agent - San Francisco Pride pride
Season 24 Fife Gibbs - D - 391 TPE - Unrestricted Free Agent - San Francisco Pride pride
Season 40 Daniel Garland - F - 232 TPE - Restricted Free Agent - San Francisco Pride pride
Season 39 Hans Gruber - F - 235 TPE - Restricted Free Agent - San Francisco Pride pride
Season 38 Howie Dewitt - F - 408 TPE - Unrestricted Free Agent - San Francisco Pride pride
Season 34 Finn Larsson - F - 506 TPE - Unrestricted Free Agent - San Francisco Pride pride

The Pride might have the youngest crop of free agents in the league this season, aside from the big name Geronimo Otto. Otto is a forward with 1636 TPE that is just hitting the peak of his career (like many others on these lists) and could see the market. Almost every other player still has quite a few seasons before they are in their primes and they all of potential to be great steals in free agency. Dakota Reid, Kyler Gill, and Howie Dewitt are all a bit older players with decent TPE foundations. If they continue to progress at their current rates they will undoubtedly become solid players that could really help some teams by the time they hit their primes. San Francisco also has two even younger prospects that could be intriguing. Daniel Garland and Hans Gruber are both very young players with expiring rookie contracts. The forwards are both low on the TPE schedule but are definitely a bit green and could be molded by whatever front office managers to snag them. One important factor is to note that both of these young forwards are restricted free agents so San Francisco will have the right to match any offers passed their way.

RIOT
[Image: seattle_riot_banner.png]
Season 39 Doc DiGreasi - F - 326 TPE - Unrestricted Free Agent - Seattle Riot Riot
Season 35 Scotty Steele - F - 450 TPE - Unrestricted Free Agent - Seattle Riot Riot
Season 31 Micheal Burrows - F - 465 TPE - Unrestricted Free Agent - Seattle Riot Riot
Season 39 Samuel Mcvay - F - 205 TPE - Unrestricted Free Agent - Seattle Riot Riot
Season 32 Danny Boyes - F - 155 TPE - Unrestricted Free Agent - Seattle Riot Riot
Season 20 Jed Lloren - F - 739 TPE - Unrestricted Free Agent - Seattle Riot Riot
Season 36 Gilfred Alfredsson - F - 393 TPE - Unrestricted Free Agent - Seattle Riot Riot
Season 33 Aaron Crawford - D - 401 TPE - Unrestricted Free Agent - Seattle Riot Riot
Season 39 Liam O'Callaghan - D - 570 TPE - Unrestricted Free Agent - Seattle Riot Riot
Season 39 Deku Izuku - D - 307 TPE - Unrestricted Free Agent - Seattle Riot Riot
Season 33 Lukas Muller - D - 342 TPE - Unrestricted Free Agent - Seattle Riot Riot
Season 37 Christian Petersen - D - 301 TPE - Unrestricted Free Agent - Seattle Riot Riot
Season 28 Pablo Biznette - D - 145 TPE - Unrestricted Free Agent - Seattle Riot Riot
Season 34 Roddy Hawkins - D - 349 TPE - Unrestricted Free Agent - Seattle Riot Riot
Season 37 Johnny Yuma - G - 447 TPE - Unrestricted Free Agent - Seattle Riot Riot
Season 32 Mikael Greene - G - 155 TPE - Unrestricted Free Agent - Seattle Riot Riot
Season 38 Damien Blackfyre - G - 310 TPE - Unrestricted Free Agent - Seattle Riot Riot
Season 39 Brock Becker - F - 384 TPE - Unrestricted Free Agent - Seattle Riot Riot
Season 39 DeMaricus Smyth - F - 576 TPE - Unrestricted Free Agent - Seattle Riot Riot
Season 39 Kolja Seppanen - F - 360 TPE - Unrestricted Free Agent - Seattle Riot Riot

We have gone through a couple of teams that have short lists of free agents but now we're at Seattle and the Riot's potential losses are many. Fortunately, there are not any all star names on the list of potential free agency causalities here. On the flip side, there are a lot of young players that teams would like to keep around. Rather than go through every young player that could see their time in Seattle coming to an end this off season, I will just high light the bigger names. Johnny Yuma is a young goalie with 447 TPE (the Riot have two other goalie free agents!Wink, DeMaricus Smyth is a young forward with a solid 576 TPE that just about any team would be thrilled to get their hands on at this point in his career, and Kolja Seppanen is another young forward with 360 TPE that has a lot of time left in the league. If Seattle wants to get better, the first step is to keep home grown talent in Seattle. They need to make a big push to re-sign these young players, even if it means losing a few of the older names.

RENEGADES
[Image: aysewp.png]
Season 25 Jack Durden - F - 1283 TPE - Unrestricted Free Agent - Texas Renegades Renegades
Season 30 Conklin Owen - F - 1772 TPE - Unrestricted Free Agent - Texas Renegades Renegades
Season 21 Theo Kane - F - 825 TPE - Unrestricted Free Agent - Texas Renegades Renegades
Season 32 Elias Norberg - F - 155 TPE - Unrestricted Free Agent - Texas Renegades Renegades
Season 32 Yaneder Dilder - F - 162 TPE - Unrestricted Free Agent - Texas Renegades Renegades
Season 32 Alex Reaper - F - 160 TPE - Unrestricted Free Agent - Texas Renegades Renegades
Season 34 Hermanis Villy - D - 311 TPE - Unrestricted Free Agent - Texas Renegades Renegades
Season 31 Ekaterina Rudnikova - G - 898 TPE - Unrestricted Free Agent - Texas Renegades Renegades
Season 38 Dustin Evans - G - 194 TPE - Unrestricted Free Agent - Texas Renegades Renegades
Season 38 Wuma Duce - F - 200 TPE - Unrestricted Free Agent - Texas Renegades Renegades

The Renegades are a team that may have had one of the most disappointing finishes to season 40. They were hot through much of the regular season and lost their steam right as the playoffs rolled around. There are some big name veterans on this list that should catch your eyes immediately. Jack Durden, Conklin Owen, Theo Kane, and Ekaterina Rudnikova are all older players that have already had great careers. The Renegades are a tight knit group and I think most of these veterans wills tick around in free agency. However, even if they somehow managed to lose all of them they would remain solid long term. If you have to lose free agents, it is better to lose a few veterans that are a bit past their prime than a younger player that is just about to hit it. Regardless of where their free agents end up, I think the Renegades are in for a good period of free agency.

JETS
[Image: 24y1cu1.png]
Season 33 Crossfit Jesus - F - 1116 TPE - Unrestricted Free Agent - Winnipeg Jets Jets
Season 35 Maurizio Arrivabene - F - 967 TPE - Unrestricted Free Agent - Winnipeg Jets Jets
Season 40 Andrew Hawkins - F - 200 TPE - Unrestricted Free Agent - Winnipeg Jets Jets
Season 40 Jensen Trygg - F - 163 TPE - Unrestricted Free Agent - Winnipeg Jets Jets
Season 32 Max Weber - D - 1796 TPE - Unrestricted Free Agent - Winnipeg Jets Jets
Season 22 Big Manius - D - 1179 TPE - Unrestricted Free Agent - Winnipeg Jets Jets
Season 33 Isaac Cormier-Hale - D - 1273 TPE - Unrestricted Free Agent - Winnipeg Jets Jets
Season 32 Alek Koivu - D - 1018 TPE - Unrestricted Free Agent - Winnipeg Jets Jets
Season 37 Roberts Klavins - G - 232 TPE - Unrestricted Free Agent - Winnipeg Jets Jets
Season 40 Kire Yelkrab - F - 387 TPE - Unrestricted Free Agent - Winnipeg Jets Jets
Season 40 Jean-Luc Picard - D - 285 TPE - Unrestricted Free Agent - Winnipeg Jets Jets
</div>

When I first saw the Winnipeg Jets list I imagined the general managers throughout the league chomping at the bit. There is a lot of talent here and if you were able to coax them all to an expansion team, you just might make the playoffs. Alek Koivu is a solid defender in his prime with 1018 TPE. Isaac Cormier-Hale is another defender in his prime with even more TPE at 1273. Max Weber is an all-star caliber defender with 1796 TPE, this is one of those players that could make your team A LOT better immediately. We also have two forwards on the list that would be instant contributors: Crossfit Jesus with 1116 TPE and Mauizio Arrivabene with 967 TPE. None of these players have even hit their prime yet and they are all very good players. If these players hit the open market and leave Winnipeg their championship window would slam shit. However, slow down fans of the western conference as I have some insider information saying a lot of these players will be returning to Winnipeg next season. In addition to the future (and arguably current) stars, there are some other big names on this list. Big Manius is a decorated defender that still has some solid seasons left in the league with 1179 TPE after nearly 20 seasons on the ice. There are also two young players, one at each end, Kire Yelkrab and Jean-Luc Picard who have respectable TPE amounts at 387 TPE and 285 TPE, respectively. These are two young players that, if they keep on their current trajectories, could be the future stars of Winnipeg or perhaps elsewhere in the league if they hit the market and sign elsewhere.

Keep your eyes out for an upcoming article that will provide an update with who actually made it to free agency and who got themselves a new contracts. In addition to noting the first players to re-sign, we will also take a look at who the top free agents are across the league. I am hoping to also take some time to sit down with some of the league's free agents before and after they have signed their new contracts to see their perspectives on the process.

I know there are some new contracts, retirements, etc. This is the initial data I started putting together based on the team budgets. I'll update all of the new deals and such in the next article.

I know there are some new contracts, retirements, etc. This is the initial data I started putting together based on the team budgets. I'll update all of the new deals and such in the next article.

Silverwing is signed until after S41 and he's been signed that way since like S37
