Okay my two cents here, both sides are a bit at fault, but I really don't see how you can defend NEW's stance on this matter at all. Samee was playing fast and loose with a rule he could obviously get burned by, and sure that may be a little bit his fault at the end of the day.
BUT, it's not NEW's job to teach Samee a lesson, and they literally earn nothing from this besides looking like a bunch of dicks, throwing away 17OA (multiple good, active players still on the board after Samee), and burn a bridge with a team that was willing to play ball and trade like Zach mentioned above. There was nothing to gain from this save for a cheap laugh that comes at the expense of a site member who is polarizing. If this happens to someone not named Samee, I'm sure the reaction would be much less 50/50.
Regardless like I said, both parties are somewhat to blame for this, but at the end of the day NEW really only did this to be assholes and take on some instructional job they weren't meant to do. Its very apparent this came at no benefit to them, and its really hard to look at this decision and justify it just by saying it was to "send a message". Bear in mind we're all laughing at the fact that an active, and contributing member of the site just had 2 months of his time wasted, and then bitch about player retention on here.
