Montreal has a good amount of major sports teams, we used to have the Expos in MLB, we have the Alouettes in Canadian Football, we have the Impact in Major League Soccer as well. I will go a different path here, normally I would go for my favorite NFL Team the New Orleans Saints but I will go for an event that happens once a year and actually takes place in two weeks on Ile-St-Helen: Le Grand Prix de Formule Un du Canada sur le Circuit Giles-Villeneuve. That's right: Formula One racing, the Canadian grand prix takes place on June 10th and I was lucky enough through connections my father have to have gotten two tickets in the Williams Racing VIP area. I love racing, the thrill of the race, the smell of burned rubber, the glamour, the celebrities, the joys or winning and the frustration of either finishing a close second or retiring due to mechanical failures or being crashed into. Canada had one World Champion in Jacques Villeneuve (My man!Wink driving a Williams Renault and today, still for Williams, we have a Montreal native driving as well in Lance Stroll.

My favorite to win is Sebastian Vettel with Ferrari but of course I hope Lance has a good race but his car is not as good as the Scuderia or Mercedes, Red Bull or even McLaren which is a shame because Williams is such a history rich team! I plan to go with Flacko if he accepts, for sure it's going to be a thrilling experience!

Yep! The Marlins. Krugs has always enjoyed spending time watching baseball and being in Miami means he can spend a little time out at Marlins games with friends, family, or just out by himself. It's a slower-paced sport compared to what he has to spend most of his time doing, but it still has some of that adrenaline-pumping excitement that comes with any professional sport. Plus... is there really anything better than a ballpark frank and a beer?

Minnesota has a few teams that would be fun to see play. I’m partial to the Vikings, so that is what I’m going with. In a little cross promotion move, the Vikings sent a couple pre-season tickets over to the Chiefs. Lundberg was tasked with representing the Chiefs and choose another member to join him. He opted to bring along teammate and fellow Swede, Dick Skillstedt. Before the game, the two were given a tour of the Vikings’ brand new training facility, TCO Performance Center, and the also quite new, US Bank Stadium. During the game, they were seated in on of the suites. At halftime, they were introduced to the crowd, waved to the cameras, all that fun stuff. Then, after the game, they got to go down to the locker room to meet and shake hands with some of the players, and to take some pictures to document the trip.

Well living in San Francisco the choices for other pro sports teams to watch is pretty grody. The Giants are disgusting and Niners are bleh and if you count San Jose and Oakland then add the As to bleh and Raiders to disgusting. Sharks are cool I guess and basketball is shit so yeah pretty rough choices. Instead, the tickets were for the inaugural game for the San Francisco Kangaroos, members of the brand new National Cricket League started by benholtby. I attended the game with Ben Holtby who came up from Los Angeles for the occasion and to cheer on his team, the Los Angeles Also Kangaroos. It's a good thing we had an off weekend because the game took like 72 hours and I honestly couldn't tell you who won but I can say with definitive authority that bats did hit balls and the weird pole thingies were also hit and also at least one ball was caught.

As a Hamiltonian, I always keep up with my local sports teams. It's not always easy because I reside in Edmonton now, but every CFL season, the Hamilton Tiger-Cats always hook me up. I take a look at their schedule and circle the game where they come to Edmonton to face the Eskimos. I then talk to the team and they hook me up with a pair of tickets to the game so I can cheer on the boys from Commonwealth stadium.

I get the tickets in the mail and bring my teammate, Chippy Chiclets, to the game with me. I throw on my Tiger-Cats jersey and lead the cheer squad with the other Hamilton fans that make the trip. It's always a blast watching the CFL in person. It's quintessentially Canadian and a sport that always brings out the Canadian pride in all of us. The boys on the Blizzard rag on me and cheer for the hometown Eskimos, but I support the Ticats more than enough to even it up.

This season is going to be even crazier with Johnny Manziel signing with the Ticats. Hopefully, this season, when we travel to face the Steelhawks in Hamilton, the Tiger-Cats are playing so I can show my Blizzard teammates a game at Tim Hortons Field.

When in it comes to watching another team play in calgary there isn't many options. Watching the other hockey team, watching lacrosse or watching canadian football. If I had to pick I would watch a canadian football game featuring the Calgary Stampede, and the Edmonton Eskimos. These two teams matchup for the labour day game and is often the most intense games they play, as they are usually important games. I enjoy watching football as it is a physical sport, combined with the chess aspect of making plays.

I would take Otis B. Driftwood with me to the game, I know Otis loves to slam the beers back, and if I know one thing there will be many beers consumed at the game. At most of the games I look to consume 4 beers a quarter, which would lead to 12 beers. Match that with the baking hot sun and I can guarantee you that Otis and I would get up to some trouble.
