Upon receiving the tickets to go and see the Los Angeles Galaxy play in their recent home game I was thrilled, I called up Jimmy J and we headed on over. My first impression of the sport is that there isn’t nearly as much scoring but on the bright side the beer was cheap. The crowd was a light and quite frankly I thought for a few seconds about what Hockey would be like with that kind of chanting and then quickly realized that I really like being able to hear my linemates and big guys coming to ruin my day. After a few more cheap beers the game picked up and I started understanding why soccer is so popular, and I think I’ve discovered why. Beer and sports plus yelling. It’s a marvelous reason to get together and forget where you are but on the other side of the fence, it’s just a bit slow for me.

What does a Russian player need to watch if hockey isn’t his number one thing, soccer? Bear wrestling? Nope, how about Australian Rules Football. I’ll give you a second to look it up.

It’s one of the most watched sports, live, in the world of sports, the main arena during the finals can hold something like 100,000+ people, that’s crazy, and that’s exactly why Artemi Berezin is drawn to it.

The game in question featured the West Coast Eagles, facing off against Melbourne, and it would not disappoint between these two power house teams.

Who else do you bring to this when you play another sport across the world? Your agent of course because he really doesn’t have a say! But of course, it’s hard to not like a sport that has rugby, football, and soccer mixed in, Berezin said if he wasn’t playing hockey he would have tried his hand at it, and would have been in very few company.

Playing in Colorado right now during baseball season, it's a no brainer to go see the Rockies when two tickets mysteriously appeared in my locker. I asked "Oh captain, my captain" Cash Savage what he was up to and he was all in for heading to a game. The game was played at Coors Field, as the Rockies took on their division rivals the Dodgers. Since I randomly had the tickets and since his name is, well, Cash I made him pay for the tasty wieners and brewskis. Growing up in Germany I wasn't exposed to baseball all that often, but it still seemed pretty entertaining. Cash tried to tell me that Coors Field was known for a high percentage of bombs being hit, which sent me into a bit of a panic before he explained what that meant. He erupted into Savage laughter, and I was a little drunk at this point so I did too. Good times were had by all, and the local team took home the dubya.

Beaujeaux biscuit doesn't like taking breaks from hockey. hockey is his life. hockey is is passion. without hockey you just get a bag of equipment sitting in front of the net looking at his phone watching furry porn. but enough of about what i do on the weekends because i'm going to the good ole Miami dolphins football game. nothing says hard action and grit and blood and guts like dolphins swimming up and down the cocaine filled beaches of beautiful southern Florida.

Something about 22 dudes in tight pants and lots of grunting get me all excited. Probably something to do with the competition going on, and the passion of the sport everybody has. With every slap ass a glimpse of pure teamwork and comraderie is shown. Get these cheerleaders out of the way I'm trying to watch the game!

While it's nothing close to watching hockey, football does give me a boner. It's basically porn.

who am i talking to

It is the rookies training camp in New England, and we have a day off. I know some of the other prospects are baseball fans, so we plan to see a Boston Red Sox game. Piotr Czerkawski, Alex Andani, Manuel Gotze, and Viktor Valentine join me for the Red Sox game. We are not Boston fans, but since we will be playing in this city soon, we adopt them as our 2nd teams. There wasn't any other choices really. We decide to sit at the top of the green monster because that's what tourists do. We had a blast, and saw the Sox win. During the game the cameras focused on us and we were on the big video board. Coming to this ball park was a dream come true, and added to our chemistry. I think this was a fun team building exercise. The game was really good, had that oomph that keeps you on the edge of your seat the entire time.

I get a call from my good buddy Doug Dimmadome, we grew up playing together and play in the juniors together. He wants to meet up in Minnesota and catch up. Perfect timing, Minnesota United FC just gave me two tickets to their upcoming home game against the Los Angeles Galaxy. We meet up for the match and the seats are stunning. We can see the entire pitch, the entire game. We make sure we get there in time for warm ups so that we can see how the players prepare themselves for their ninety minute match and we're in awe of the control they have on the soccer ball. We have a few beers and the match is off! People truly underestimate a good soccer game. I feel that more people would enjoy it if they gave it a chance. Either way, Minnesota United FC won and it was nice to get out of hockey for a bit and catch up with a buddy of mine.
