Look at S42 SMJHL First Gens (Round 1)
#1

Quote:Eligible for the double payment since it mentions the S42 SMJHL Draftees. 1007 words.

Preface:
Data from July 13th 6am EDT. Don't take this to seriously this is more meant as a money grab compared to a real ranking or scouting report that will really have an impact on draft position or etc.
Also there really isn't much data out there on you guys since you have been here for not even a week ( at least most of you). I also don't have access to the Locker rooms so I don't know your LR personality which is also is a huge factor in the SHL draft.

Ok now let's get started from the top of the draft:

#2 Pick Leshaun King raiders
Ok that's a really easy one basically a no brainer so to say. Currently the leader in total TPE for the whole draft class and obviously leading the first gens too. He also leads the first gens in terms of money in their bank accounts. Also the draft class leader in terms of posts on the forum. King has been involved in discussion on the site and because of his overall great activity there are some people that think he isn't a real first gen but I guess we will have to wait and see for that one but if he indeed isn't a true first gen world will spread rather quickly in the SHL and to GM's. Some first gens might ask themselves why King has so much more TPE than the normal first gen it's because he simply created the week of the S41 SMJHL Trade Deadline aka the sweet spot for creating a new player since you get to do a few AC's and ITC than reddit draftees.
Build: Considering how much TPE he earns he made a great choice here since a Center needs to be a top TPE earner in my eyes. At the SHL level you lose out on 160 TPE purely by bringing your FO to 90. Something that Centers have to consider is that the value of Strength is way higher for them compared to normal skaters since Strength helps with Faceoffs.
Strength/Weakness: Not much to say he really pick a solid one with Two-way Forward. Defense as a Strength is also something nice to see for a Center.
Draft Prediction: Should be easily a top 3 pick a strong contender for the #1 pick currently in my eyes. There are a lot of good recreates though so we will have to see how that dynamic plays out.
Ceiling: His ceiling is on the highest level right now so easily a top line Forward or Franchise Forward.
Floor: That's a tricky one so I guess you can put bust in here. Every data so far points towards a great player so his floor would be classified as a bust with his hype.

#7 Pick Krištof Kovacs raiders
Once the pick was announced in the SMJHL GM discord I was a bit surprised but I also didn't have any scouting for this draft now after a week of collecting data I can confidently say that this was a good pick for the Raiders. Kristof currently is tied for #5 in TPE for first gens. He has a decently sized bank with 3.1m which puts him at #10 for first gens so still quite decent.
Build: Just like King he made a good choice for his build since so far he earns a lot of TPE. Compared to King he will loose out on 268 TPE compared to Winger since Faceoffs is a strength.
Strength/Weakness: Personally the only thing that I don't love with his choice is Face offs as a Center you don't really need more than 90 Faceoffs which already will give you a Faceoff percentage over 53% but each to their own.
Draft Prediction: Should be easily a first round pick. There are a lot of good recreates though especially at Center with Goku Muerto for example so Kristof might not be the 2nd Center off the board come draft nighh.
Ceiling: Same as King so far. Could easily be a first line Center for a long time.
Floor: I am basically gonna repeat myself here for every first gen. The floor is being a bust or simply going inactive.

#8 Pick Oliver Kovacs raiders
Same thing as what I said about his brother. Quite surprised and I believe that they are a package deal so to say.
Compared to his brother Kristof Oliver is sadly not that great. Currently he sits at #15 in TPE for first gens and his bank is at 0 currently which isn't a good sign but then Oliver somehow has more posts than his brother which is weird. So not a top earner currently but that is to him not having any money to buy equipment.
Build: Finally the first winger I can talk about. So he created a Playmaker with the standard Strengths and the standard Weakness which in itself isn't bad. Looking at his update he already boosts his defense to 69 which is quite nice. For my personal taste his strength is a tad low but it isn't that much of a big deal. Just don't forget that strength helps with keeping possession of the puck.
Strength/Weakness: Standard so not really a lot to say about it. Decent choice as you don't see that many Playmakers usually people tend to make Snipers.
Draft Prediction: He is the first difficult case so far. He has earned every TPE available to him except the equipment one so it depends on his ability to earn some money where he will land. Could go either first round like his brother or 2nd round if he decides to not buy equipment.
Ceiling: Could be a top line Forward in the future but right now it looks more like top 6 Forward.
Floor: I am basically gonna repeat myself here for every first gen. The floor is being a bust or simply going inactive.

Haha that's hilarious. I'm not sure if I should take that as a compliment or be offended. But I can guarantee you I'm 100% a first gen.

For those who don't know when I first joined I asked who the goat forward is and was directed to Esa. Esa essentially walked me through what to do to be drafted high, and how to build my player to have the most success. I'm not sure if he think this but I consider myself a protege of @Steelhead77 . I owe my early success to him.

Confirmed King came to me out of the blue and asked some advice on his player and the league, I was happy to help. In fact, he reminds me of a young Esa with his passion and activity level since joining. No questions he has all the intangibles to become a great player and member. Keep up the good work man and thanks for the kind words. Smile

Cheers

I'm taking this and posting it in my locker room stall. Nothing will stop me from becoming a top line forward and first round pick in the SHL draft! I'm going to change your mind just you wait!

(great article though! I'm buying my equipment finally with some media out and should have the bank account filled soon enough!)

Nice! It's great that you'll earn enough money to buy equipment if you keep everything up with earning every TPE you should easily be a first round pick! Cheers

(The race for #1 is really tight this season so a bigger bank accounts helps with that. If that is your goal)
