its great for his point total numbers but that is not all! you also must look on the points per game ratio in comparison to the others! you also should bring up the fact that he never won any award and that as 3rd best playoff point producer like you told us here! that brings me to a cut that others were always the key-factors for the Cup wins! you cant come in the HoF for just win with your team 5 cups. He must be special other than that we would have so many in the HoF where the most would think ... WTF why he is an Hall of Famer! we already have some from the start of the league where I also think about this WTF case.

after all my written words ... he still can make the HoF in the future because he has still some seasons as chance for the HoF. But forcing it and call out the HoF Committee will maybe bring him not in the HoF! Wink

Coming in here and counter arguing Nicholas Pederson not making the Hall of Fame with his numbers and accolades is just rediculous. The only thing you should be saying is..im sorry for my crimes.

This is a spit in the face to the SHL. I tell every person that comes into the awards committee to leave your bias at the door and pick the right people. I dont know how a guy that has the historic numbers across the board as Pederson does not get in this year.

my Izzy boy ... 1108 games for 869 points? and 5 cups where others won the Razov but he already has the 3rd highest points overall in playoffs? 0 Awards

that should be enough for being special to come in the HoF?

and again every player has the chance for 7 seasons to make the HoF!

Bud, don't take it so personally. I'm not on the committee but to me, he was 3rd best on the ballot. While he has the high numbers, like McZ said it is in a lot of games and he was never the guy. He's a guy who's to me a 2nd-4th ballot in, and would be 1st ballot if it weren't also strong around him. I would induct Wollker over him and debate him vs Fleming for 2/3 most likely.

He's guaranteed to make it, but being guaranteed doesn't mean guaranteed first ballot.

I had Pedersen very high on my ballot and was surprised how little love he received from the rest of the committee, but come on now, it's not like there aren't some legitimate arguments against him. Most notably his lack of individual accomplishments and the fact that he mostly got his numbers through longetivity and not peak performances (which I don't have a problems with but others do). The fact that he got to play on arguably the best team in the SHL over the last couple of decades could be a factor too, but of course you could counter that by saying that he was one of the reasons Calgary was so consistently great. Still, while he always was a good player he usually wasn't THE superstar that carried the team either so that might've affected some of the voters.

I'm going to take him off the ballot just to be a dick.

In all seriousness, this is a really misguided thread for a number of reasons.

1. It is his first ballot.
2. He had 24 points. Just 11 shy of the 35 necessary. So he has been getting votes.
3. You could have asked me or someone else in the committee instead of getting worked up and calling us out for apparently being terrible at our jobs.

Also you will probably be disappointed by the results of next season's ballot considering there are 3-4 guys who will likely be voted ahead of him.

I mean... Izzy does have a point? Almost everyone else in that screenshot is HOF, and he has a bunch of championships to back it up. His rookie season he had 30 points, and from s23-s37 had no less than 40 points a season, including four over 50 with one at 59. In his 22 seasons, he had 4 under 30 points within the tail end of the career.

Not to crap on Nereus, who I'm not sure if his entry was the first ballot or not, but I'd think that kind of consistency is better than Nereus's one really good season in s34.
