89. (S40) D (Edmonton Blizzard) - Ensio Kalju || New Entry
Grade: 68.90
Past Seasons: None

At 89 is Ensio Kalju of the Edmonton Blizzard, a new entry and with only a few seasons under his belt, seems to be hitting somewhat of a stride. Kalju's better season was a year prior where he scored 7 goals and 37 points, and his 2 goals and 20 points in S44 wasn't much to write home about (worst on his team among those players who played more than 15 minutes a game). Many are unsure of how he was able to get this high on the list, but maybe he has a second gear we just haven't seen, yet.

88. (S39) RW (Toronto North Stars) - Mikhail Lokitonov || +12
Grade: 69.40
Past Seasons: S43-95, S44-100

At 88 is Mikhail Lokitonov of the North Stars, a winger who has finally gotten out of the 90s and 100s and is getting the offense into groove. While not his best season, Lokitonov scored 16 goals and 39 points, fourth on the team in scoring (which was important considering premier forward Kristian Eriksson recently retired). He wasn't particularly great in anything else, but at least now has a foundation to work from.

87. (S36) RW (West Kendall Platoon) - Dionýz Vyskoč || +7
Grade: 69.60
Past Seasons: S44-94

At 87 is Dionýz Vyskoč of the Platoon, coming off his second Challenge Cup final appearance in a row, mainly due to players like him getting more minutes and opportunities. Vyskoč scored 16 goals and 39 points in S44, and alongside guys like Trevor Wilson and Dani Forsberg almost made it two championships in a row. Intangible qualities for this winger haven't really materialized, which is interesting considering he is getting pretty close to regression at this point.

86. (S35) LW (Hamilton Steelhawks) - Angelo Odjick || -4
Grade: 69.70
Past Seasons: S41-70, S42-78, S43-68, S44-82

At 86 is Angelo Odjick of the Hamilton Steelhawks, dropping off a bit but still showing some consistency in the last few seasons (6 seasons of at least 30 points now). Unfortunately regression is coming up and it is possible that this may be the beginning of the end for him, despite the physical play coming back into focus for him this season.

85. (S40) LW (Manhattan Rage) - Reginald Rove || +1
Grade: 70
Past Seasons: S44-86

Reginald Rove comes into the list at 85, moving up one spot with a season that was actually worse than the season prior. Rove has been pretty much just an okay player, and his 17 goals and 34 points was pretty much par for the course in his career (which is still pretty short). He did reach a career high in hits at least, though that was not a high bar to hit.

84. (S28) G (New England Wolfpack) - Mikke Laukkanen || Returning Entry
Grade: 70.30
Past Seasons: S32-61, S33-30, S34-17, S35-25, S36-27, S37-34, S38-75, S39-49, S40-67, S41-26, S42-60, S43-51

At 84 is Wolfpack goaltender Mikke Laukkanen, who actually is still in the league despite many believing he was out of it and no longer player. Laukkanen hasn't been anything close to his prime seasons, but at least in S44 had a .902 save percentage regardless of his record (which was 19-20-5). His career may be coming to an end, but at least the goaltender is still showing signs of life late in his career.

83. (S36) C (Buffalo Stampede) - Oliver König || +9
Grade: 70.50
Past Seasons: S43-82, S44-92

At 83 is Oliver König of the Stampede, a center who has been in the league longer than most would even remember, considering his career didn't exactly start with a bang. König scored 14 goals and 40 points, getting him back into the 40+ point range, and not a moment too soon. König even broke a personal record in hits with 66 and did so playing a moderate amount of minutes. It is possible this could be a late surge for König and the beginning of his prime.

82. (S39) C (Manhattan Rage) - Yannick Berger || -14
Grade: 70.60
Past Seasons: S44-68

At 82 is Yannick Berger of the Rage, the center who had a top-tier season in S43 but was unable to continue it or build on it in any meaningful way. Berger scored 15 goals and 33 points, which shouldn't be terribly surprising considering the Rage are not a very deep team, meaning he has had fewer options for earning points. His physical play also took a bit of a dive, unfortunately, so it is unknown exactly how his career is going to go from this point.

81. (S28) D (New England Wolfpack) - Mia Landvik || -1
Grade: 70.80
Past Seasons: S35-56, S36-60, S38-65, S39-40, S40-63, S41-36, S42-28, S43-43, S44-80

At 81 is Wolfpack defenseman Mia Landvik, dropping back and possibly very close to getting knocked off this list considering her age. Landvik scored 6 goals and 29 points, which isn't all that terrible for a defenseman, but considering it is now two seasons since she has been able to pass the 30 point mark, this is an unfortunate end to her very long and successful career.

80. (S33) RW (Edmonton Blizzard) - Halfdan Thorstein || -8
Grade: 70.90
Past Seasons: S37-83, S38-81, S39-76, S40-74, S41-69, S42-74, S43-45, S44-72

At 80 is Blizzard winger Halfdan Thorstein, who recently joined up with the future contender Blizzard and could be a major part of their cup run in S45. Thorstein didn't do too shabby in his first few games with the team following the deadline, scoring 5 goals and 12 points in 15 games. Despite regression taking its toll he could have a resurgence simply because he is back on a contending team again.

79. (S37) LW (Edmonton Blizzard) - Hercules Rockefeller || +9
Grade: 70.90
Past Seasons: S43-96, S44-88

At 79 is Blizzard winger Hercules Rockefeller who continues to move forward in his quest for the top-10 (or top-50 or whatever) with his S44 campaign which saw him score 17 goals and 40 points. With a career high in points and even another double-digit plus minus in +16, Rockefeller is starting to get things together, even if it is later in his career than anticipated. Rockefeller's biggest problem has been hits during his career, in which he isn't exactly a game-changer.

78. (S32) RW (West Kendall Platoon) - Leafer Rielly || -18
Grade: 71.40
Past Seasons: S39-95, S40-44, S41-39, S42-44, S43-66, S44-60

At 78 is Platoon winger Leafer Rielly, dropping back quite a bit as he is starting to lose his offensive mettle over the years. Rielly scored 16 goals and 36 points, below his previous season and well below his career high. It shouldn't be too surprising considering he is getting deep into regression, but it is disappointing to see players like Rielly keep it together but only enough to be in the low end of the top-100.

77. (S37) RW (Texas Renegades) - Logan Jensen || -6
Grade: 71.40
Past Seasons: S43-99, S44-71

At 77 is Logan Jensen, the Texas Renegade who has been quite the renegade during his career. Thankfully he appears to have lost a bit of that unnecessary edge and is an effective hockey player at this point. Jensen scored 18 goals and 38 points in S44, and while he isn't exactly improving in the offense department it seems like he is at least demonstrating a bit more consistency in his own end. Unlikely he makes that into anything more than what it is, but we shall see.

76. (S33) RW (Manhattan Rage) - Yuriy Starkonov || -6
Grade: 71.60
Past Seasons: S43-88, S44-70

Yuriy Starkonov comes in at number 76, playing on a team that really did not have its act together, so it is a bit surprising to see him drop all things considered. Starkonov scored 11 goals and 37 points in S44, which was a step back from the season prior. However he was one of the few positive plus minus players on his team, which has to account for something.

75. (S36) RW (Seattle Riot) - Joseph Lombardi || +1
Grade: 71.80
Past Seasons: S44-76

At 75 is Riot winger Joseph Lombardi, jumping up a single spot but not dropping back despite his brutal season in S44. Lombardi scored 18 goals and 35 points, but was a -16 (a career worst) and didn't meet up to the standards of the season prior. However at least Lombardi appears to be moving away from his S41 season which made some people wonder if he was actually worth the contract he signed in Seattle.

74. (S41) D (Texas Renegades) - Daniel Karlsson || New Entry
Grade: 71.80
Past Seasons: None

At 74 is a new entry on defense, the Renegade Daniel Karlsson who is starting to make waves after his rookie season in S43. Karlsson scored 8 goals and 32 points last season, but considering he is very young and appears to be taking on a very big role in Texas already, he seems like he could be the next up and coming defensive prodigy. But the question remains if he will be able to back that up in the coming seasons.

73. (S36) G (Los Angeles Panthers) - Evgueni Marmeladov || -19
Grade: 74.40
Past Seasons: S41-89, S42-48, S43-39, S44-54

At 73 is Evgueni Marmeladov of the Los Angeles Panthers, a goaltender who is starting to get deep into his career and isn't exactly lighting the world on fire during his career. In S44 Marmeladov went 26-15-5 with a .903 save percentage and a 2.87 goals against average, but with only one shutout and the Panthers not showing much in the way of playoff domination, what are we to make of this goaltender?

72. (S39) D (Los Angeles Panthers) - James Johnson || New Entry
Grade: 74.50
Past Seasons: None

Another new entry on the list is James Johnson of the Los Angeles Panthers, who is starting to demonstrate some solid consistency on the back end with his last three seasons. Johnson scored 8 goals and 31 points, and even continues to bring a bit if physicality to his game (if not that much). Will he stay among the 70s or can he start to improve his offense and get even better?

71. (S34) C (New England Wolfpack) - Xander Green || -29
Grade: 74.70
Past Seasons: S40-99, S41-92, S43-47, S44-42

At 71 is Wolfpack center Xander Green, who is out of the top-50 after his S44 season which was decidedly different than previous seasons before it. Green scored only 11 goals and 37 points, as compared to the season prior where he scored 15 goals and 46 points. Not to mention he is back to being a minus player after his poor defensive efforts, and on top of all that refuses to get into the dirty areas, something needed out of a center to be very successful.

70. (S35) G (Buffalo Stampede) - Jordin Fourfour Jr. || -66
Grade: 75.10
Past Seasons: , S37-, S38-, S39-888, S40-42, S41-74, S42-40, S43-3, S44-4

At 70 is Stampede goaltender Jordin Fourfour Jr., who is having some troubles keeping with the prestige of his predecessor in Jordin Fourfour Sr. Fourfour Jr. went 17-22-5, finished with a .897 goals against average, however did have his moments, as he earned 2 shutouts on the year even with a poor statline like that. Can he bring it back or did the Stampede hitch their wagon to the wrong horse?

Like when I take names or by what metric do I add names to the list?

I take names at the end of the regular season, and typically add players who are in the top-75 scorers if they haven't been added or recommended, yet.

69. (S31) D (West Kendall Platoon) - Ludwig Koch Schröder || -22
Grade: 75.20
Past Seasons: S33-98, S34-92, S35-82, S36-71, S37-11, S38-32, S39-32, S40-18, S41-31, S42-31, S43-50, S44-47

At 69 is Ludwig Koch Schröder, out of the top-50 for the first time since S36 (almost a decade), and it isn't entirely surprising to see an aging defenseman with his stats falling. Schröder scored 5 goals and 30 points in S44, in line with his previous couple of seasons (though his worst since S33). His physicality is still there, though not anything to brag too much about, and he did block 85 shots.

68. (S32) C (Edmonton Blizzard) - Teodors Cukurs || -9
Grade: 75.30
Past Seasons: S39-56, S40-59, S41-87, S42-68, S43-59, S44-59

At 68 is Teodors Cukurs of the Edmonton Blizzard, also dropping back, and still unable to crack the top-50 after multiple seasons. Somewhat surprising considering Cukurs scored 14 goals and 41 points in S44 which was a pretty decent statline all things consiedered. He was even a solid contributor on the physical side and even was a career-high +21 on the year. Is 40 points simply not enough, anymore?

67. (S32) LW (Buffalo Stampede) - Luke Atmey || -14
Grade: 75.60
Past Seasons: S34-93, S36-51, S37-14, S38-8, S39-21, S40-10, S41-3, S42-23, S43-49, S44-53

At 67 is Stampede winger Luke Atmey, another veteran dropping on the lists and a far cry from what we had seen from him many seasons prior. Atmey scored 17 goals and 37 points, was a minus 10, but he did break his previous best for hits as he registered 151 on the season. Perhaps he has passed his peak and he is taking it out on the players on the other team?

66. (S38) D (Buffalo Stampede) - Tatu Mäkelä || -5
Grade: 75.60
Past Seasons: S42-84, S43-80, S44-61

At 66 is Stampede defender Tatu Mäkelä, who is starting to hit a bit of a rut in production (but four 30+ point seasons in a row isn't too bad for a young player like him). He scored 6 goals and 34 points (a career high at this point), however despite blocking 86 hits he didn't do much in terms of laying his body out there. Can he become a two-way contributor or will he be a semi-capable offensive threat and nothing more?

65. (S39) D (Toronto North Stars) - Bob Bergen || -8
Grade: 75.70
Past Seasons: S42-58, S43-69, S44-57

Bob Bergen of the North Stars comes in at 65, another player who is stagnating a bit on the scoresheet but at least being consistent. Bergen scored 8 goals and 32 points, blocked 79 shots, and even broke his previous best in hits with 76 on the year. Still young and a lot of room to grow, Bergen just needs to break out of this rut and he could be a dominant defenseman for the Stars.

64. (S42) G (Hamilton Steelhawks) - Geezus Kryyst || New Entry
Grade: 75.70
Past Seasons: None

A new entry on the list comes in at 64, it is Geezus Kryyst, coming in with a pretty respectable 21-17-5 record and .909 save percentage, keeping up the wins but improving his ability to stop shots. Another young Toronto player to look out for, Kryyst has all the tools it seems to be successful, he just needs to figure out how to put them together.

63. (S33) RW (Toronto North Stars) - Chris York || -45
Grade: 75.80
Past Seasons: S39-34, S40-1, S41-1, S42-3, S43-1, S44-18

At 63 is yet another North Stars winger, Chris York. York has fallen a great deal since his dominant seasons a few years back, scoring only 17 goals and 39 points. His physical game completely deteriorated, as well, failing to register 100+ hits for the first time in his career (he only had 58). With the new blood coming in, this appears to be a sign that the old guard in Toronto is not long for this world.

62. (S30) LW (Texas Renegades) - Conklin Owen || +27
Grade: 75.80
Past Seasons: S35-85, S37-57, S38-57, S40-6, S41-47, S42-65, S43-61, S44-89

at 62 is Renegade Conklin Owen, recovering from one of the worst seasons of his career in S43 with a solid showing. He scored 22 goals and 48 points, and while that is basically all he did on the ice (no defensive game to speak of apparently) he still seemed to be a pretty effective player.

61. (S27) LW (Los Angeles Panthers) - Maximilian Wächter || -22
Grade: 76.10
Past Seasons: S32-98, S33-79, S34-56, S35-22, S36-13, S37-16, S38-39, S39-47, S40-55, S41-35, S42-15, S43-14, S44-39

Panthers winger and long time friend of this list Maximilian Wächter comes in at number 61, a solid 40+ point player (6 40+ seasons in a row and 11 in the last 12), he could become the next Nicholas Pedersen (and may get snubbed from the Hall of Fame as well). Can he reach the same heights as Pedersen did late in his career (he is currently only 154 points away from passing him in points) or will he fall short and not be recognized in the same vein when he retires?

60. (S30) C (Los Angeles Panthers) - Jean-Luc Reflieux || -47
Grade: 76.30
Past Seasons: S34-96, S35-97, S36-99, S37-43, S38-73, S39-61, S40-68, S41-32, S42-24, S43-10, S44-13

Jean-Luc Reflieux comes in at number 60 and could be falling really fast. The prolific scoring center had a major down season, breaking his streak of 50+ point seasons and ending it at 4, scoring only 15 goals and 35 points on the year. To top it all off his defensive game and physical play has been so inconsistent as to make him a very unreliable two-way player. This could be the beginning of the end if he doesn't get his act together.
