I don't think so, at least that's not how I interpret the rules linked in the OP. So we probably have an escort who knows who the Alpha Wolf is, now the question is if it is smart for him to reveal that or stay hidden and just block that person every other turn.

I'd vote for the second option. Having no one killed every other night is pretty good.

From the rules:
Escort - The Escort is of the night, and lives to... distract people. Once per night, the Escort may choose to distract someone. If that person has a role, they will not be able to perform their job for the evening. Distract the doctor, he doesn't visit his patient. Distract the alpha wolf, there is no kill! (The seer cannot be distracted as he simply has a vision) The escort may NOT role-block the same person on consecutive nights.

I'd suggest the escort stays hidden, if everything goes right then he should then be able to stop the WWs from killing anyone every second round, right? That would be incredibly powerful for us. The flipside is that if he dies after a while, we still won't know who the alpha wolf is - but it's probably worth it if we can prevent another 1-2 wolf kills before that happens. And of course the escort still has the option to reveal himself if he feels like he is going to die soon, either through lynching or being eaten.

Wowwww. This was fun to come out of the lab to. We just gained a bonus day. I’d say it’s smart for the escort to do the “every other day” thing as well.
