Good call on the pancakes issue. Both are good but pancakes at their best, transcend the level that waffles can obtain.

Im sory of surprised to hear that a good paisan, such as yourself, is unaffiliated with the wide world of Italian legumes. It would seem your family embraced middle American cuisine in a way my South Philly clan of guineas never could. The canellini bean is a white bean, often used in soups, quite good.

Not too sure why half the teams making the playoffs would not be enough. Seems a reasonable percentage to me.

Nice episode. Really enjoyed it.

Have fun in the Keys, very jealous. Cheers

My main concern with half the teams missing the playoffs is that would be 8 rosters of guys waiting a full playoff and off-season before getting to see their player play games. Yes there is the IIHF but that only eats up, what, a week of off-season?

Since this is a sim league as opposed to just a real life league that should be taken into account. My desire for a wild card game/series comes from that, since at least two more teams can get some kind of playoff action in.

May not necessarily be feasible or the best option for the league, but I consider it to at least be a viable thing to consider.

What's "playoff action" for the 4th and 5th best teams in a conference besides another day or two of looking at text with their player's name on it? Seems like a lot for a little, especially if the scheduling issue can't be figured out.

It's more viable to weed out 100 Reddit kids if they can't deal with just updating while the new season is created behind the scenes.

It's not just looking at text with a player's name on it. The connection to the games is more than just the specific sim itself. There is the media opportunity, the discussion with teammates, trash talk in the index, etc.

And again this all stems from the fact that two additional rosters will be dealing with a full off-season, adding to an issue that has existed in the SHL since forever.

Media, discussion, and trash talking still exist regardless of playoff format. If the lack of media is an issue, create incentives for it. God forbid people jump out of their own Discords and produce something, y'know? I'm sure lots of people are going to make playoff media whether their player is in it or not.

"Dealing with" an offseason sucks, sure, but again, we can change something besides the structure of the league. A lead time is necessary for the amount of filework that has to be completed.

That concerning issue of waiting would be even worse on the bottom 6 teams. Two more get playoff action, but everyone gets a longer playoff/offseason.

Excellent point. You're making teams out of the playoffs actually wait longer by adding more teams. I just inherently feel rhat 50 percent is a solid number. It devalues the playoffs when everybody gets in.

Then what is the magic number to you? At some point if the league keeps increasing when do we add teams to the playoffs and based on what metrics?

Even if it was just a single wild card play-in there could be beneficial and wouldn't increase the off-season that much.

Keep in mind I am not completely proposing any specific format, just opening up things to discussion.
