The world of mascots has been dominated over the past season by the arrival of Gritty. He has taken the hockey world by storm. But that time has passed. A new mascot has just arrived in Orange County to reign supreme. With the recent acquisition of it's very own SMJHL team; the city of Anaheim has been looking for the perfect mascot to please the ravenous fans. Shortly after the teams exit from their first post-season, planning began to find the best possible representation for the growing team. Now today the Anaheim Outlaws are proud to present the best mascot this league has ever seen.

Outlungus The Desert Hare Outlungus is a black-tailed jackrabbit native to the Anaheim area. The Anaheim Front Office believes that the black-tailed jackrabbit shares many qualities with it's hardworking team. The black-tailed jackrabbit's characteristically long ears give it good situational awareness much like the high hockey IQ shared by the players. It boasts strong rear legs that help it fly across the desert much as the players fly across the rink. The species does not migrate or hibernate; they continue to work hard all year just like the Anaheim Outlaws. Finally just like the Outlaws, the black-tailed jackrabbit's breeding peaks in the spring but continues all year round. players. Outlungus is a symbol of perseverance and dedication to becoming what no one thought you could be. We hope all will welcome Outlungus into it's rightful place as the greatest mascot to ever roam the earth.
