Vancouver S46 Final Thoughts
#1

As of yesterday the Vancouver Whalers S46 Season was done, over these past 5 seasons, Vancouver has made it to the Conference finals all 5 times, this 6th time we were eliminated in the wild card round, so thats pretty cool to see how we lasted 5 seasons going to the conference finals. In those conference finals we lost in the Conference 3 times. 2 times to St Louis and 1 time by Montreal. We advanced to the finals 2 times, losing to Kelowna 1 time and Won it over St Louis 1 time.

Going into this past draft Glyc and I knew that we were in for a hard rebuild, and to rebuild correctly, you needed a down season, and I believe this is the down season we needed in order to get even better.

In the draft We sought out to get some personalities in the Locker Room and we achieved that. We sought out to get some of the best players we can get in the draft and we achieved that. In the Top 25 TPE of rookies, Vancouver has managed to get 4 of them. Only us and Lethbridge has 4 people in that top 25. Ontop of that we have 4 more not in the top 25, but are growing into their own.

In the season we have gotten 3 active FA's which I greatly appreciated them joining us, next season we will be back with better odds.

In the regular season we also had the only player to get over 50 points.Borromini Cannellini also have gotten the only record this season as a whaler. He has tied the single season record for +/- in a season with 28.

This season have put us in a great situation to open the window the next couple of seasons to win the cup, and we are looking to do so.

Next season's outlook have been the best since S43 in the SMJHL. If every Sophmore stays then our roster would look a little like this

Borromini Cannellini - Petr Mikulak - Cullen Gray
Aaron Wilson - Sami Raanta - Theo Morgan
Andy Kerr - Dale Miller - William Goose/Draftee
Whatever the 4th line will be

Bernik Vrzala - Jax Duggan
Egor Kucherov - Joe Ackroyd
Igor Volkov - Rookie
Whatever the 4th line is

Casimir Stevens
Eddy Ask Jr

With more Draftees and FA's coming, we will be here for a while, and expect lots of seasons of us being a threat for a cup.

I am very proud of what we are creating, next season we will be better, the season after we will be better than that. :Whalers

One more draft like this and we'll be stacked at every position. But even without any new players this roster looks good. Go Whalers
