Here Yee here Yee .. order in the point task! Welcome back to our 3rd season of the Weekend Funtimes 'MAKE THE CASE'.. a PT to comment, reply and discuss some of the leagues most discussable topics...
Task : Choose 1 or more of the topics below. Begin your task with the word 'For' or 'Against' and then make the case for what ever side you chose! but be sure to give good reasons and back up your claims because someone on the other side of the topic may call 'BS!' and counter your post!
every 'For', 'Against' or 'BS!' that meets our 25 word or more criteria will recieve 1 TPE.. while '8' people will be chosen as Participation+ members and will receive an additional uncapped TPE!

Retired players Andrew Martin (22 points in 23 games) and Connor Tanner (24 points in 23 games) in there final seasons will end up 1 and 2 in the most improved player award voting.
Against
While they both are having great seasons, the most improved players should be Alex Andani of the Tampa Bay Barracuda. He is at a over point per game pace and has already passed his career high in point totals in his first season with the Cuda. It would be terrible to give the award to players that are retired as well.

"Tampa Bays 14-5 start should come as no surprise as they boast the most talented young line up in the East."
BS! Are you serious with that? Yeah, they'll be really good in a few years when their end-run around the entire league for draft capital in S47 pans out, but jesus christ this team is 100ccs of pure surprise and luck. Joseph Gagnier and Michael Owens on defense is a yikes, neither would even be 7th defensemen on some teams, let alone getting actual ice time. They're rolling Nolan Sawchuk on the top line a good 3 seasons early, they have a 3rd line center somehow coming close to leading the team in scoring, and even their 2nd defense pair is below standard but hasn't been fully exposed yet. Not to mention you can't even pin all the success on Benjamin Blue, one of the few guys on this team that has talent matching up to his role. Benjamin's just having an ok year (.917 save %, 2.80 GAA), and not carrying the team or anything.
The only explanation for this team is Game Sharks abounding, theres just no other way. In five years, yeah them being a great team would make sense if everyone pans out, but right now, they should be owning the basement suite currently rented out to Manhattan.
Former Agent of Nick Brain: Center/Right Winger -
The Manhatten Rage (6-13-4) who are currently in last place will storm back in the 2nd half and capture 1 of the 5 playoff spots in the Western Division.
Against: While I believe that Manhattan is under preforming, I do not believe they can pull off that big of a comeback and secure a Playoff spot in the Eastern Division. (If they were in the Western Division, I believe they would have a chance.)

Minnesota's surprising 13-9 start is backed by the strongest *top line* in the SHL in Eric Pelletier, Bobby Watson and Terrance Nova.
For
It's happening all over again. I think it was just a couple seasons ago when Minnesota's top line had one of the most impressive seasons the SHL had ever seen. Now they are once again putting on a show, though of course they are aided by being out on the ice a ridiculous amount of the time. If this "top heavy" strategy can continue to pay off remains to be seen, but I personally am a believer.

In this skilled rookie class, Chicago forward Kit Smeb will win the rookie of the year award.
FOR
Kit Smeb, a fellow red bird Detroit Falcon SCREEEEEEEEEEEE-ER will win the rookie of the year award with no doubt. This kid has the silkiest hands and skates gracefully like a cheetah sprinting through the open plains. My boi smeb showed no mercy in the SMJHL and his call up was long awaited. Smebby will wreck havoc on the rookie class and position himself on top of the throw in true falcon fashion. We all know falcons look at people from a birds eye point of view, and what better way to mimic that point of view than on top of the rookie class.
SKREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

FOR.
Tampa Bay is obviously an up and coming team masterfully crafted by GM jss. He was hired to turn a failing franchise around and that's exactly what he's done by drafting young talent - and the leadership in the room from older teammates helps as well.

In this skilled rookie class, Chicago forward Kit Smeb will win the rookie of the year award.
Against.
Nothing against Kit but I think Matt Kholin will eventually overtake Kit and end up as the top scorer which will nab him the rookie of the year award. Kholin plays over two minutes a game more than Kit (yo who can I talk to about getting some of these minutes y'all?) and as a team Tampa Bay currently has 15 more goals than Chicago. So I think ol @
Kalakar wins it
In this skilled rookie class, Chicago forward Kit Smeb will win the rookie of the year award.
Against. There is so much competition it might be hard to tell, but there are players in the rookie class that simply play more than he does and will probably pass him in the main attribute that will matter for forwards - scored points. In my opinion, the prime chance to snatch the award is in the hands of former SMJHL rookie of the season, Matt Kholin, simply because of him having more ice time on a team that scores more than Chicago does. There is a case to make for some others, but I think that Smeb isn't the main runner and if he wins, it's going to be quite a surprise.

It's become clear that the torch has officially been passed to the S39 draft class as the dominant force in the SHL.
Against - Nothing against them personally, but I have no idea who is in the S39 draft class besides like three people I decided to look at on the team rosters, so obviously, they have not done a great job of making their presence known, unless we're talking about Nobody, who I just discovered was S39, but can you really make the case that one person I know makes that draft class the most dominant? I suppose it depends on your definition of being a dominant force. Are we talking people in charge, effective players, or popular folks as being the dominant force within the SHL? Could be the first two things, and if so, gg S39. I personally think the S46 draft class is pretty dominant and will continue to be so. Many of them have sent in applications for GM roles, HO, coaching positions, etc, and a couple have gotten them and continue to rise up the ladder, I'm talking about Flareon as someone in particular, and sure they are new and some will surely fall off the activity train eventually, but they remind me a lot of the S30 or 31 class, whichever one had like Zoone and tweeds in it originally, I can't recall. People who are super ready to get involved from the get-go and show us what they got. The point is, I don't pay attention to draft classes, but if you don't ring a bell to me, how dominant are you?

It's become clear that the torch has officaly been passed to the S39 draft class as the dominant force in the SHL.
This is a bunch of BS. Every person in the league knows it's not true, and that the S34 draft class is still the dominating force of the league to this day without a shred of doubt.

The Hamilton Steelhawks who are currently leading the Eastern conference are a bigger surprise then the Winnipeg Jets who are currently leading the Western conference.
For.
While the Winnipeg Jets have been a bit of a surprise, jumping out to first in the Western Conference, they do have some great veteran players alongside some great youngsters with a ton of potential. As for the Hamilton Steelhawks, I did not expect them to be in the playoff hunt, let alone first in the Eastern Conference or the entire SHL. They lost quite a few players in the offseason and it is very surprising to see them atop the standings. Kudos to Hamilton for finding a way to prove a lot of people wrong but let’s wait and see if they can sustain that success for the remainder of the season.

I totally disagree, if you were to go look at the S39 draft you'd see they're all stars. Each and every one of those guys is a top tier player, and they're also the most smart, funny, intelligent, and well dressed people I've ever met, basically in the whole world. So that's why they're altogether the most dominant force I've ever seen.

BS! Hamilton is a great team that just had an off year last year. Plus, there is a grand conspiracy in the SHL to make sure the West Kendall Platoon are always in the hunt for the cup, which is a detriment to the other teams in the division.

So I think ol @Kalakar wins itKit Smeb is a superstar. He has many intangibles you know, that are attached to his game. Right? So that should make him the best player to enter the SHL of all time, honestly. He's likely to just get the rookie scoring award automatically. Even if he loses the point lead, I am pretty sure the player who wins will be disqualified, so Kit Smeb is about as safe of a pick as it gets.
