In this skilled rookie class, Chicago forward Kit Smeb will win the rookie of the year award.

_
This is a pretty bold statement to be made, it may be an attempt to curse Kit Smeb, I need to do some research from here. See if there was any finger crossing, or black candles getting burned when the question was posed.

Minnesota's surprising 13-9 start is backed by the strongest *top line* in the SHL in Eric Pelletier, Bobby Watson and Terrance Nova.
For.

They are doing very well statistically and look like they will continue to shine. Whilst you can argue the other lines have done pretty well for them too you the percentage of points they have brought in scorelines that are close is a huge, huge factor. Also, they're clearly inspired by drafting Jon Forty-One but that is another reason they're doing well.

Nothing against Kit but I think Matt Kholin will eventually overtake Kit and end up as the top scorer which will nab him the rookie of the year award.  Kholin plays over two minutes a game more than Kit (yo who can I talk to about getting some of these minutes y'all?) and as a team Tampa Bay currently has 15 more goals than Chicago.  So I think ol @Kalakar wins it
Kit Smeb is a superstar. He has many intangibles you know, that are attached to his game. Right? So that should make him the best player to enter the SHL of all time, honestly. He's likely to just get the rookie scoring award automatically. Even if he loses the point lead, I am pretty sure the player who wins will be disqualified, so Kit Smeb is about as safe of a pick as it gets.

You didn't say BS so I will count this as an agree, thank you!  Cheers

The Best juniors prospect in the world is named Julio Tokolosh of Colorado.

Against

I mean come on. Julio is good, of that there is no doubt, but there are many better juniors prospects. The highly touted Monkey D Luffy comes to mind as a top prospect, but he isn't the only one. Even from his own draft class, he is unlikely to outshine any of Ford, Westbroek, Parmborg or Zadina, let alone all of them.

FOR.

Tampa Bay is obviously an up and coming team masterfully crafted by GM jss. He was hired to turn a failing franchise around and that's exactly what he's done by drafting young talent - and the leadership in the room from older teammates helps as well.

Just think how OP TBB would be if they hadn't sent cloots down another season

This is a bunch of BS. Every person in the league knows it's not true, and that the S34 draft class is still the dominating force of the league to this day without a shred of doubt.
[37]

agree

infact i dont think anybody in the s39 class will ever amount to anything in their entire lives. It's actually really sad and I will pray for them. The greats of the S34 draft class such as [FIRST LAST] and [FIRST LAST] will continue to dominate for years to come.

The Manhattan Rage (6-13-4) who are currently in last place will storm back in the 2nd half and capture 1 of the 5 playoff spots in the Western Division.

AGAINST

While I believe that the Rage are the better of the three teams outside the East Playoffs, the 11 point gap is just too big to overcome at this point in the season. The Rage just can't score right now and every point the other teams get just sets them back further. No playoffs for the Rage this season.

I'm sorry I just don't know how you say such things in the world we look at with such names as Monkey D. Luffy, Kristoffer Svensson, and even Satoshi Zizagooney. Sure Tokolosh is easily up there in the top 10 of best prospects to watch out for but putting him in the top of the podium is just wrong. sorry

Quote:After a change in management, the Lethbridge Lions will finish in the top 5 of the SMJHL standings.

For:
Since the old management didn't really do much while they still were around, any change is a good change in this situation. So it can only get better from now on. We've all seen the first small winning streak (4 wins in a row) that happened right after the new GM took over. I can easily see them (well, us) make the top 5 again.

Kit Smeb is just a terrible rookie. He should never have been called up, and he is far inferior to other members of this season's rookie class. If he were to win the award, it would be an injustice to much more talented rookies.

Against: Clearly, the Manhattan Rage are experiencing " The curse of @luketd " that still lingers in San Francisco as both teams are on the outside looking in so far this season. Tongue
