WFT's: Make the Case (S48)

"It's become clear that the torch has officially been passed to the S39 draft class as the dominant force in the SHL."

It's easy to say that the torch has been passed to the S39 Draft Class. Out of any other class, the S39 Class has been dominant especially of the last few seasons. Tommy Tuck has won an MVP, and two Goalie of the Year Awards, and Mikhail Lokitonov has been a force for Toronto. Don't forget Last Season's MVP in DeMaricus Smyth. Season 39 Draft Class is here to stay.

BS! Have you seen Cody play!? Dude is a mess on and off the ice. C'mon, kid hates mayo! You can not score good goals if you cant even stand the smell of mayo.

Came here to say that mayo is amazing and anyone who thinks otherwise is a scrublord and I hope your player gets suspended.

In this skilled rookie class, Chicago forward Kit Smeb will win the rookie of the year award.

BS

Chicago forward Kit Smeb has absolutely no chance of winning the rookie of the year award. This is because there is a massive conspiracy, run by Head Office, to completely ruin kit's day. As a former member of Head Office, I personally once drove my car through a puddle while kit was standing next to it. They'll never, ever, let him have an award.

The Hamilton Steelhawks who are currently leading the Eastern conference are a bigger surprise then the Winnipeg Jets who are currently leading the Western conference.

FOR - everyone had written us off before the season even started. We were bad last year and frankly a lot of it was just getting a raw deal in the sims, and without really changing much if anything in the roster we're now a top team. However, the Jets have been more successful than us recently and no one predicted we'd be where we are, so to everyone except us I'd say it's a pretty huge surprise

After a change in management, the Lethbridge Lions will finish in the top 5 of the SMJHL standings.
Against.
Lethbridge is still a couple seasons away from top 5. New management will definitely help them get back on track, but their still have their old scars left from the old management. So maybe the Lions will be a contender in the seasons to come, but not for the next three seasons at least.

highly skilled rookie 'Cody', playing in a league of capped forwards, will capture the SMJHL S48 goal-scoring title.

Against.

Cody currently doesn't even sit in the top 10 goal scorers in the league and his current production is probably unsustainable. His 14.47% SHT% will likely regress to ~10% and his production will slow down as the season goes along. No rookie can keep up with the experienced players all season, no matter how skilled they are.

Code:
The Manhattan Rage (6-13-4) who are currently in last place will storm back in the 2nd half and capture 1 of the 5 playoff spots in the Western Division.

For.

The Rage have some very skilled players and play in one of the league's weakest divisions, the stage is set very well for them to make a late season playoff push. If they can get some better goaltending and their star players can find their game, it wouldn't be surprising to see the Rage playing in the S48 Wildcard games. Their GM is also notorious for making things happen so don't be surprised if they're aggressive at the trade deadline in a bid to earn themselves that playoff spot.

Code:
Following in Kelowna and St. Louis footsteps of repeating as champions, the Anaheim Outlaws, currently at the top of the SMJHL standings will win the Four Star Cup for the second season in a row.

For.

While the Outlaws lost many of their top players to call ups, their roster is still extremely impressive and boasts veteran stars such as Corey Kennedy, Lallo Selman and Jerry Mander. They also have arguably the best goalie in the SMJHL, Tibuk Soonika who has been lights out for them this season. With Soonika's solid play and their stars producing, the Outlaws will once again quietly be a dangerous team in this year's SMJHL playoffs.

Code:
In this skilled rookie class, Chicago forward Kit Smeb will win the rookie of the year award.

Against.

Kit Smeb is actually not a rookie, so while he has had a very good season in comparison to the rest of this year's stacked rookie class, it is all for naught as he is actually a sophomore and is not eligible to take home this season's Ryan Jesster award.

Code:
After a change in management, the Lethbridge Lions will finish in the top 5 of the SMJHL standings.

Against.

While the team's new management team boasts two of the best GMs in the game, Jordan Nugent-Hall and Adam Kylrad, the duo are not magicians and that is exactly what this dead in the water Lethbridge team will need to be respectable this season. While I think this management duo will bring a quick turnaround to Lethbridge, I just don't see how it could possibly be this season given the pieces that they have to work with at the moment.

Code:
The Best juniors prospect in the world is named Julio Tokolosh of Colorado.

Against.

While Tokolosh is good, he benefits a lot from being the main man on a very weak Raptors team. He is the focal point of their offense and as a result is responsible for most of their production but given this advantage, there isn't really anything that makes him stand out from the others. The real best juniors prospect in the world is named Corey Kennedy of the Anaheim Outlaws, putting up those numbers as a defenseman is unreal and Kennedy is a special player.

After a change in management, the Lethbridge Lions will finish in the top 5 of the SMJHL standings.

For

The Lions have a huge core of forwards that are ready to dominate, and they are led by my own player who may be seeing their last shot at a Four-Star cup. Banananak has 27 points in 27 games, leading the team in scoring, but behind him he has a crazy deep core of skaters with Monkey D. Luffy, Austin Roenick, Jules L'Eclair, Eva Lykke Aparjode, Cant Eykil, Joln DuBolk, Delver Fudgeson (rookie), Liam Hutchinson, Jack Bauer, and Neu Ulmerika all with 10 points or more (that is 11 players on pace for 18 points or more which is fantastic). That kind of core is something nobody will be able to deny and finishing in the top-5 in the standings is as expected as it is that the sun will come up tomorrow morning.

Kit smeb will obviously win the jesster. It doesnt even matter that hes not a rookie because he gets played less than most rookies so he deserves it. Basically hes gonna score 90 goals in the last 10 games so then idk hes gonna win obviously.

the Manhattan rage have lost too many games this season to turn it around. They should just focus on getting the best odds for the first overall pick and then lose the lottery again

The S39 is now the dominant players for sure. Between Grease, Marius, Lokontinov, Bergen, Smyth, Physt, and McIntryre, these players are leading their respective teams. One of these players will win an SHL award for the next5 seasons

The Best juniors prospect in the world is named Julio Tokolosh of Colorado

Yes! Julio is showing of tremendous skill for the 2nd season in a row and is on pace to win the scoring titel in the SMJHL, a true beauty!

Tampa Bays 14-5 start should come as no surprise as they boast the most talented young line up in the East.

Against, while they have a talented group of prospects it's far from the most talented ones. Some of thier young prospects are beggining to slow down as well.

RETIRED

After a change in management, the Lethbridge Lions will finish in the top 5 of the SMJHL standings.

Against. I would hazard a guess that the season is too far gone to be saved at this point. Regardless of whether you have good management or not. Haven't even looked at the standings before typing this, but I assume they are bottom of the barrel.

Retired players Andrew Martin (22 points in 23 games) and Connor Tanner (24 points in 23 games) in there final seasons will end up 1 and 2 in the most improved player award voting.

Against. Tanner had no chance of winning, considering has consistently been a top dman for the Blizzard, even putting up a 46 point season back in S42. Martin may have a shot, but I believe there are better candidates out there, such as leading scorer Shooter McGavin or Alex Andani of the Barraccuda

Shooter McGavin will win the SHL scoring title. It’s his time to shine after his past players were always sacrificing for the other stars on the team. It’s now his turn to bring home some individual hardware. Not a better spot to do it. While playing top line minutes on Mike Izzy’s wing clearing space for shooter to do his thing.
