S50 WFT #3 - Make the Case

Code:
Buffalo will achieve the Even Trifecta and continue their trend of winning the cup in even-numbered seasons with a S50 championship

For: Buffalo has had a strong roster in all the odd numbered seasons too but just couldn't get it done during the playoffs. This season they already some picks and a prospect to the rebuilding Texas Renegades to acquire a 1k TPE defender which gives them 6 individual defenders above 1k TPE to make a deep playoff push. The roster from the S48 cup winning team also looks a bit different with the infusion of the young talent Buffalo picked in the S46 drafts and onwards. These young players had time to refine their game from the S49 season and are now ready to play some big minutes in the playoffs.

No team is having a more disappointing season than...... the Toronto North Stars??

Honestly, as a Chief, the season we are having has been a massive disappointment, with players becoming better by the season and our top-6 looking pretty great in preseason, being way out of the playoffs after 35+ games is just... saddening. Toronto is having great production from their young players and that's always nice to see, as no team wants to outright tank, right?

For - Mika is continuing the dominant play that he exhibited last year for St. Louis and shows no sign of stopping. He's already super close to breaking the record and there are a lot of games left. He'll shatter the record, set a new record, and somehow shatter that one. The rules of the league and the laws of physics don't apply to Mika Kandinsky.

Mika has never abused heroin and for that reason alone I think they're going to have a hard time continuing, but if they're willing to try it at least once or four-seventeen times I think they'll have a lot better luck in the long run, you know? Great player.

Mika Kandinsky @Mika_Kandinsky will most definitely break the all-time rooking scoring record for most points in a season. He is one of the most hard working members on this site and has a fantastic attitude on and off the ice. It truly shows the North Stars have faith in their standout prospect based on the amount of responsibilities they have provided him. This is only the beginning of what Mika Kandinsky can achieve and is a shoe in to be a dominant force in this league for many seasons to come.

It's not disappointing to be a Chief I don't think, you guys probably end up wining the next 30-40 games to pull back into the playoff race, take over all the other teams and finish off with a cup win, or whatever happens. At least you have each other.

With the standings tighter now than in recent memory, this is finally the season in which a bottom-four (7-10) team will make a run and hoist the Four Star Cup

For, currently, Kelowna is eight currently in the J, but they started second before hitting a rough patch. There's no doubt in my mind that their curse will be lifted and that they will win the cup.

Agree. He is on pace to do that and is on such a bad team that scoring must come from somewhere. So it will happen and the North Stars should be relegated to the Smjhl.

Manhattan and New England, both having extremely disappointing seasons, will turn it on in time and both make the playoffs

Against

Both teams should have easily made it when looking at their roster but hockey is played on the ice. New England off of a final trip the season earlier had an awful start and I can't see them recover

I would agree, I have heard the locker room is disappointing too. Plus it is nice to know minny is not the worst. Minny has a popping locker room now.

FOR

Yes Konn will lead the SHL in goals as Konn has had bad luck in the sim before this season and it seems the Hockey gods (SimonT) gave all that missed luck back for this season.

I don't think there's a more sure thing to predict than that the rookie record will be shattered. Mika is well above a point per game and it playing with one of the top talents of our generation. I wouldn't be surprised is Kadinsky finishes the season with over 25 goals and 60 points.

Against: The Texas Renegades went through an entire rebuild and are now seeing the final pieces of that rebuild fall away. They're going to have gone almost 15 seasons without even coming close to winning a cup and Dankoa will retire from GM having been a failure his entire tenure (I couldn't find when he started so I'll assume he wasn't GM in S36).

FOR
Pretty sure this already happened by the time I got around to this, making this the easiest WFT of all history. This wasn't even in question from the start, however. I voted them as rookie of the year for a reason. With Lokitonov carrying the way, it doesn't take much to be a superstar and in this case Kandinsky is incredible in their own right. This is a no doubt, obvious and simple choice that Kandinsky is shattering the record and putting it completely out of reach.

Against - not sure how their current season could be seen as a disappointment - multiple sources picked them to be near dead last in the whole league and they're currently sitting in a playoff spot. The SHL Casino is going to lose a lot of money this season on them, as they've already surpassed the win total most people bet on.

Awkward considering I shat on Toronto earlier in the season but given Toronto currently being in a playoff position and New England's fall from grace, it's hard to argue they're having a disappointing season at all.
