Team Alpine is happy to announce the S50 WJC roster. The management consisting of @KlusteR and @UrsinZ hopes to form a team which is able to repeat last year's gold medal win. This year, Team Alpine parted ways with Germany, so they will no longer be held down by them. Without further ado, let's start with the roster announcement.

Goaltenders:

Emiko Spector @MantoRune

Emiko will be the starting goalie for Team Alpine as he was for Colorado. Emiko was one of the best, if not the best, goaltender in this SMJHL season. With a 2.34 GAA and a 0.902 save percentage in 44 games, she looks to repeat the success she had during the season. Everyone who played with Emiko knows how focused she stays, even during pretty hectic situations, never losing sight of the puck. Allways on top of her game.

Markus Tegernako @KlusteR

Our backup goalie will be Markus Tegernako. Even if it's his first time playing at the WJC, he's looking for success. Everyone who played with or against Markus knows how good he is. He's considered to be one of the top 3 goalies in the SMJHL. He played the second most minutes this season and had the 3rd best save percentage overall. Considering it's his first season as a starting goalie in the smjhl, he looks really pumped going into the WJC.

Defensemen:

FR Finn-Rhys @FinnRhys
Last year's team DACH GM Finn-Rhys looks to focus on his playing and leadership this year. If we take a look at his stats, we can understand why. Being the defenseman with the most points throughout the regular season in the SMJHL, he wants to confirm his good form during the WJC. Playing nearly the whole season with the weakest team of the SMJHL, against the opposition's biggest lines, and still only getting plus/minus of -4 is really good, considering Halifax had a minus 26 goal differential.

Daniel Kuster @kuschy
Daniel Kuster is, like a lot of other players in Switzerland, part of the Colorado Raptors. In his second season, Kuster really stepped up his game. He played 21.5 minutes per game in Colorado, and only took 16 penalty minutes which is nearly nothing. In his two seasons in the J, he never had a season with a negativ plus/minus statistic, which speaks for the defensive part of his game. Also blocking 61 shots this season shows his will to stand in the line fo fire for his team. Considering he's an offensive defenseman, these stats are really impressive, and makes me look forward for his playing during the WJC.

Noah Andros Good_Ole_Kimmy
Noah Andros was in the same draft class as Finn-Rhys. Noah is the best offensive defenseman the Detroit Falcons currently have. In his last season, he played around 22 minutes per game, getting 38 points - being the 7th most productive defenseman in the SMJHL. His defensive skill is top notch as well, blocking nearly 60 shots this season and having a plus/minus of +6, which is pretty good for an offensive defender! He's looking to help the Team Alpine's powerplay.

Viska Weber Viska
Viska is an undrafted player. During WJC, he should be able to show the SMJHL scouts in attendance what he's capable of against a tough opposition.

Ursin Zimmermann @UrsinZ
Ursin Zimmermann played his second season in the SMJHL this year. Ursin is a passing machine, which isn't really built for scoring goals. Having 28 assists and only 1 goal this season perfectly sums this up. The management hopes he can step up his scoring ability for the WJC. What's standing out for Ursin is how much he plays already in his second season. He played the 7th most minutes in the whole SMJHL this season. Team Alpine hopes he can eat up minutes on the back end, and continue being a wall in the defensive zone.

Forwards:

Anthony Archer Zach
A heavy hitting guy, that's Anthony Archer. 110 hits during the regular season - which ranked him 5th in the whole league. Besides his physical play, Anthony brings a good offensive punch. He had 36 points during last season, from which only 9 points were scored during powerplay, which speaks a lot for his 5 vs 5 play! Off the ice, Anthony is a pretty calm dude - never too loud, which helps bringing down his teammate's hot temper when needed. So, all in all, Anthony is a really awesome player which helps every team he plays on.

Andrey Barbashev II @RaiN
Next up is Andrey Barbashev II. One of the ten best right wings in the SMJHL. Besides Andrey's very good offensive play, he's really good on the other half of the ice. With a plus minus of +13, which doesn't sound that amazing - but considering he played for the second last team in the SMJHL, that really shows how much of a responible two-way player he is! On the offensive side, Andrey has to be considered a big threat. With a goal every 7th shot on the goal, every goalie in the SMJHL knows him and fears his shots at the net.

Daniel Bischoff @dylanjj37
Everyone who knows Daniel, knows of his big role in the locker room! Allways talking and chirping around. Never one to shy away from a joke. Helping every new guy in the locker room feeling welcome. Besides his presence in the locker room, Daniel also knows how to play on the ice. With 44 points in this year's regular season, he counts as one of the best centers in the league. Only having 20 penalty minutes in the whole season shows how cool he stays in hot situations on the ice.

Ricky Bobby @ImASurvivor
Speaking of guys being loud in the locker room, we have also to talk about Ricky Bobby! Ricky is the type of guy who would come to you in the middle of the night to help you finish a very important piece of work. Always helping the young guns and lending them a hand whenever they need one. On the ice, Ricky is a monster, scoring more than 20 goals this season - he's a big threat on the ice, and a big reason why the Kraken are currently in the SMJHL Four Star Cup final. Scoring 5 game winning goals shows that Ricky has that "clutch" mentality, and has the ability to be the one player you need to win in tightly contested games.

Theo Golury HabsFanFromOntario
Theo Golury is another undrafted player looking to impress the SMJHL teams with his performance at the WJC. Theo is a really hard working guy. Always being in the gym and on the ice made him one of the fittest guys in this year's draft class. In the locker room, Theo is a fun guy, always chirping on others.

Dinkle Jimbo ScorpXCracker
Another undrafted player. He knows how to hold a stick and shoot with it. Also knows how to tie up his skates.

Cal Labovitch Mutedfaith
Cal Labovitch is a young Swiss player looking to make an impact on the coming draft. Cal is a playmaker - always looking for the best pass. The few trainings he had with us, he really impressed everyone with how good of a passer he is. Never saw that guy miss a pass. Let's hope he can show his talent during the WJC.

Cassidy Lhotsky Kasterborous
Cassidy is a young forward playing for the Detroit Falcons. In his first season, he only got around 8 minutes of ice time, which isn't that much. Still, during such a low play time, he still had the time to tally 40 hits - which is a lot for a young rookie playing in his first season. This shows how willing he is to help his teammates, even if it's on the body part of the game. Let's see how he develops during his time playing in the WJC.

Thomas Vanice JuOSu
Next up is Thomas Vanice. Thomas played his second season for the Lethbridge Lions. He got 26 points in which were 13 goals and assists. This may not sound that flashy, but if we look at his stats from season 49, we see how much he improved. Last season, he had 12 points which isn't half as much points as this season. Another part he really developped is the defensive side of his game. He played more than 20 minutes per game and only had a -4 total during the whole season, on a team that had a -13 differential. That just shows how hard he worked on his defensive play in the summer!

Mitchell van der Heijden bluesfan55
Let's get to our next player, Mitchell van der Heijden. Mitchell is a rookie who played his first season in the SMJHL. But don't think he's an ordinary rookie. Mitchell was the second best rookie scorer this season, with 28 points. Mitchell is a natural scorer - nearly every 5th shot of his is a goal. That's just unreal for a rookie. Besides being a beast on the ice, Mitchell also is an awesome addition in the locker room. We are really excited to see him play at the WJC.

Luca Veccelli Symmetrik
Luca is a playmaking center. Luca's vision of the game is perfect. You need a center doing well at the dot, and dishing out some sweet passes to your wingers? Luca is your man. Getting nearly 20 assists this season shows how good of a passer he is. Sadly he couldn't play as a center during the season which definitely will change during the WJC. Let's see what he's got in him at the WJC. I am pretty excited for him!

Alexander Wachter MP7
Next up is another rookie, Alexander Wachter. After a solid first season, Alexander is looking to light up the WJC. Alex played in Carolina, who have a pretty deep roster, resulting in him playing on the 4th line. This resulted in only playing 9 minutes a game. But Alexander made full use of the ice time he was given, scoring with every 6th shot of his. This resulted in him being one of the 10 most dangerous players on the ice in the league. Alexander is a really hard working guy, which will sooner or later bear fruits on the ice. Let's see if this is during the WJC.
