Casino S51 - Odds Tally

Now that the playoffs have started, we can look back on the rest of the over/under bets placed this season and see how everyone stacked up. As well as posting here, the S50 Casino sheet is color coordinated for wins and losses so that any user can check their results thus far. As for the parlay’s this season, only one got it right, and he’s looking at becoming the top dog in the earnings category, so congrats to the Whaler alum @aaronwilson .

Now, let’s take a look at what went down!

Buffalo Stampede
Over/Under 29.5 games
Current Record: 27-21-2
On Pace For: Under betters win
Over Bets: 1
Under Bets: 14

The Stampede hit the pace pretty well from the start and got themselves a wildcard berth against Tampa Bay coming up soon. As for the betting line, the betters will win here, as they couldn’t quite muster up 30 wins, though they were pushing pretty closely throughout. Congrats to the users on this one

Calgary Dragons
Over/Under 27.5 games
Current Record: 26-20-4
On Pace For: Under Betters Win
Over Bets: 6
Under Bets: 2

The Dragons fought hard to stay in the hunt all season, and the Blizzard stayed ahead of them all season as well. The defending champs will face their heated division rival in the playoffs soon, but as for the betters, putting your money on last season’s champ just didn't work out. Casino will take some money back here

Chicago Syndicate

Chicago stepped up for the users here big time and though they couldn’t catch a surging Hamilton in the standings, they absolutely played amazing and allowed the users to bank some dough here!

Edmonton Blizzard

And now the Casino takes some money back again. For whatever reason the 27.5 line didn’t seem to give the betters much confidence, and the Blizzard team showed them where they can put that betting slip at the end of the day.

Hamilton Steelhawks

On Pace For: Over Betters Win

Under Bets: 1

Hamilton has put money in several pockets this season, and points on the board. They take the top spot in a stacked Eastern division and have a dogfight on their hands going forward.

Los Angeles Panthers
Over/Under 23.5 games
Current Record: 21-25-4
On Pace For: No Winners
Over Bets: 14
Under Bets: 0

The Panthers fought hard and squeaked into a playoff spot in the West. They face a Jets team who surprised many by reaching this point. Sadly for betters the streaky LA team didn’t quite make the line and the Casino earns quite a bit outta this one.

Manhattan Rage

Current Record: 26-18-6
On Pace For: Under better wins
Over Bets: 8
Under Bets: 1

The Rage managed to get close but couldn’t quite hit that mark. The Casino likes seeing this one, earning even more money, and that one under better looks pretty smart.

Minnesota Chiefs

Current Record: 19-29-2

Under Bets: 2

Minnesota has a rebuild going on and a fight for the #1 OA pick. They also paid out to a few players but once again the Casino enjoys seeing the income rolling in as more users lose than win.

New England Wolfpack

The Wolfpack looked like they were in a perfect place to be able to rebound after a disappointing season 50. However, beyond Wagstrom and Anders, the team could not find a balance in their game. Betters were not fooled by the high betting like and the few that took it seem to have gained in the end.

New Orleans Specters

On Pace For: 34-11-5

The Specters take home the President’s Trophy, the top spot in the West, and show the majority of betters that they were dead ass wrong. Congrats to the ghastly team in the south.

San Francisco Pride

Current Record: 18-27-5

Under Bets: 4

The Pride could not repeat the chemistry they found last season, and unfortunately for them, they failed to reach the playoffs. They look towards a hopefully lottery spot but ultimately look towards next season and the hope they can turn it around. Betters ultimately win in the end but barely here.

Tampa Bay Barracuda

Current Record: 24-22-4
On Pace For: No Winners

Once again the Casino benefits from the play of a team not quite hitting the line. Tampa tried, and managed to squeak into the 5 seed on the last sim of the regular season, and face the Stampede in what I expect will be a dogfight. As for the Casino, we’re happy in the Casino!

Texas Renegades
Over/Under 19.5 games
Current Record: 21-28-1
On Pace For: 18-30-2

Under Bets: 4

Texas pulled this off on the last sim of the game, winning their last two games. It’s quite impressive seeing it come down to the wire and winning. The Casino likes it too since this means that more losers appear and they can bring home more profit to themselves.

Toronto North Stars
Over/Under 21.5 games
Current Record: 21-26-3
On Pace For: Under better wins
Over Bets: 11
Under Bets: 1

Toronto JUST missed the mark here and broke quite a few hearts, and wallets, along the way. The Casino seems to be getting the better of many users this season. Sadly Toronto could not repeat last season’s surge, and they have some golfing to do now.

West Kendall Platoon
Over/Under 22.5 games
Current Record: 25-23-2
On Pace For: Over betters win
Over Bets: 3
Under Bets: 2

On the last games of the season, WKP faltered and just missed out on the playoff picture. The betters just made out in the end here too since the betting was nearly split evenly. They look towards next season and hope that an overall winning record will help them more next time.

Winnipeg Jets
Over/Under 21.5 games
Current Record: 22-24-4
On Pace For: Over betters win
Over Bets: 10
Under Bets: 2

The Jets surprised a lot of people by making a wildcard spot and they barely managed the over and making the players some money in the end. Good on you Winnipeg!

So that’s the Casino in the end, a bunch of winners, losers, one parlay taker, and in the end it looks like the Casino may profit for the first time in it’s history so far.

As for the odds, I feel like the lines really spread the money around this season and the payouts will be affected by that. If you broke even this season, consider it a blessing. Many players lost money in the end, and if you parlayed you likely did badly.

Also, the Pick-em league for the SHL will be revamped for next season as a season-long points league, so look towards that.

And for you SMJHL players (and ONLY SMJHL players) the Casino will be expanding in that direction next season, so be ready, it’s coming!
