Interview with LeBlanc about IIHF

As not too many people pointed it out (LeBlanc doesn't have a big fan club, mainly just his mom, his dad, his weird uncle and his clownfish) Simon LeBlanc is not apart of Canada's S51 IIHF Roster. To find out the reason behind this outrageous exclusion, we wanted to interview LeBlanc himself. He fortunately accepted our offer.
Interviewer : Hello Simon! Thanks for giving us a little time for an interview! Before we go into the main part of the interview, could you give us a quick review of your first season? Simon LeBlanc : Sure, no problem! The regular season was pretty rough, we started pretty well, but towards the end, the struggle was real. We still managed to grab a playoffs spot, which is not too bad. The playoffs were something. Winning against Winnipeg was a little bit expected for us, but not winning against NOLA, considering they were the best team in the west. After that, we got maybe a little too cocky and got swept by Edmonton. But you know, I didn't feel too bad because we already had done better than expected. I : So now about the main purpose of this interview, you're probably aware that you were not included in Canada's S51 IIHF Roster, why is that? S : Hehe, there's a simple reason to that, and it's an embarassing one. So the night after our last game against Edmonton, I took a shower because I felt like it. When I got out, for some reason, I slipped and broke both my ankle and my arm. So it's going to take me a little time to recover from that, and I can't risk anything and try to play in IIHF. It's really not a story I wanted to tell, but it is what it is. I : So now that we know that you're out of play, could you tell us who is going to win the gold this season? S : Pfft, is this really a question? Of course Canada is going to win it, every player on that squad is perfect. I don't think I really need to describe all of the- I : Actually could you do that? I don't think that everyone out there see each player the same way you see them S : Ok then, here we go... Robert Phelps, a legend, really someone I look up to. Both a great guy on and off the ice, a real captain. One of the best that ever was. Steven Moyer, I honestly don't know him all that much off the ice, but I know that he's really a good player on the ice. He had a tough season with SFP, but he still produced decently. He will be a stud in this team. Matt Kholin, he's in here? Really? Urgh, don't know how he's still first center of TBB, pretty overated player if you ask me. Doesn't produce many points, can't score, not that great at faceoffs... Good guy off the ice tho, only thing is he keeps saying kekw or something at everything, no clue why but besides that, good guy. Kekw I guess... Aaron Wilson, don't know a whole bunch about him off the ice, but he's a great kid. He's gonna be the next Robert Phelps for sure. Already one of the league's top scorer, really a great guy. The absolute GOAT. Jeff Brogen, another SFP guy. Also had a tough season, but he should do much better here. Can't wait to see him play, really great guy. Jack Kennedy, don't know a whole bunch about him also, but I know he was a big part of Chicago's offense last season. Will be a player to keep an eye on, trust me. Dick Clapper, he played for the Knights didn't he? Huh, whatever, still a good guy on and off the ice, also had a tough season with New England, hopefully he will be able to pop off here. Should be a big scorer in this tournament. Sophia Bennett, another legend, one of the best currently. Don't think I have a whole bunch to say, I think everyone is aware of how good she is. James Truong, plays for Edmonton, did great for them both during the season and the playoffs, hopefully he also does well in here. Great guy. Theo Morgan, I'm ready to bet he won't get an hit at all this tournament. Great guy, you know, we're teammates back in LA, but he's way too afraid of throwing his body around. At least he scores, hope he does that too here. Atlas Rush, I think he's from the same draft class as I am? Absolute tank on the ice, I shit my pants when he's on the ice against me. He does crazy hits, I wouldn't fuck with this guy. Good guy though when he's not on the ice or when he's on your team. Oh now we're getting to defensemen, my favorite part. Gary Grease, someone I look up to really. Another legend on this team, man's getting old but you know, he's still really good. He will be a big part of this team's defense. Thomas Bathory, heyyy my line partner from LA. Great guy obviously, love playing with him, great teammate. Big part of the defence here too. Oliver Cleary, he will carry the team like he carried LA. Had the most penalties last season, so you definitely don't want to mess with him, or he's going to fuck you up. If we win gold, it's because of him but if we lose, it's not his fault at all. Nothing to add. Lyle Odelein III, we came from the same draft class and around the same place. He plays more on both ends compared to me though. Still a great guy, if you're seeing this, sorry for eliminating you, you did deserve to go through. Gabriel Johnson, we also came from the same draft and around the same place. I played with him a couple WJC ago, and to be honest, kinda hated it. He was always shooting, never passed the puck, and sucked physically. Like if you want to only play offensively, why do you not go play forward. Besides his addiction for shooting, still a great guy off the ice. Maxime Bouchard [Due to the recent circumstances, the comments on Bouchard were redacted] Commander Shepard, really nice of him to accept to play out of position to help out our defense. He will bring a lot of help on both sode of the ice. Great guy Ian Venables, or Budgie, absolute wall, what a guy. One of the best in the J, and will be one of the best in the big league very soon. Watch out for him. Elle Rush, also one of the best in the J. Has a bright future ahead of her, hopefully she will see some ice time in this tournament. Bo Kane, one of Canada's best prospect. He will absolutely pop off in the SHL in a couple seasons, but right now, he will probably not have a big role. Still a great guy. I think that's all of them? Yea pretty much I : Anything else you would like to add before we end this interview? S : Oh yes absolutely. This is a message addressed to Moe S. Knuckle. WHY THE FUCK IS JEAN-PAUL BOIVIN NOT IN HERE? You have the best player in the world available, but you keep him down in WJC. How, why? Please. I : Ok so I think this is going to be it for our little interview, thank you very much for your time! S : No problem, anytime! Code: About 1250-ish words | || | || | |
