SHL S52 Team Sponsorships
#1
(This post was last modified: 01-27-2020, 06:04 AM by Leoben.)

975-ish words.  Ready for grading.

In a last minute deal, the league has allowed teams to wear sponsors on their jerseys.  This will lead to more brand recognition for the companies and some more revenue for the teams.  Teams are scrambling to get their new jerseys in the locker rooms and on the shelves for the start of the season.  Below are the major sponsors for each team.

Buffalo Stampede
[Image: Buffalo.png]

Buffalo Wild Wings
[Image: 220px-Buffalo_wildwings_logo18.png]

In an attempt to not stray too far from their buffalo theme, the Stampede have elected to use the major food chain as their sponsor.  It should fit well with their theme.  Buffalo Wild Wings is already a household name.  They will be running deals in local markets.  If the Stampede win by three or more goals, they will offer one free appetizer per family or group.

Chicago Syndicate

Easy Breezy Laundry Irving Park Mayfair

The Syndicate were struggling to find a sponsor and had to settle for a local laundromat.  We are not sure what they will wear on their jersey but it might just be a washing machine until they can figure it out.  When asked what kind of specials fans can expect if the Syndicate manage a shutout, the local owner said "I guess I can let them play Ms. Pacman for free."

Hamilton Steelhawks
[Image: Hamilton.png]

E-ZPass
[Image: 250px-EZPass_logo.svg.png]

In an attempt to put the whole passing fiasco in their rear-view mirror, Hamilton is teaming up with E-ZPass.  The toll collectors couldn't be happier.  As for what promotion they will offer, the company's Twitter account posted "If for some reason Hamilton do not win the Challenge Cup, we will turn our plate readers off for a day."

Manhattan Rage
[Image: Rage-Banner.png]

Red Bull
[Image: 220px-RedBullEnergyDrink.svg.png]

The Rage opted to keep it simple this season and let's face it, Red Bull has their logo on pretty much everything anyway so it was only a matter of time before they got in on the league.  They have promised that if Manhattan win the Challenge Cup, they will finally deliver on their promise of an energy drink that gives you wings.

New England Wolfpack
[Image: SHL-Wolfpack2.png]

Surge
[Image: 300px-Surge_logo.png]

Surge is back baby!  Inspired by the Wolfpack logo, the soft drink company is decided to sponsor the team this season.  If the Wolfpack manage to win their division, Surge promises to deliver a product that doesn't taste like something from a Chernobyl reactor.

Tampa Bay Barracuda
[Image: barracuda-banner.png]

Coyote Ugly
[Image: 220px-CoyoteDSC00320.jpg]

The saloon was thrilled to partner with the Tampa Bay team as they are opening seventeen new locations in the area.  If Tampa Bay reach the Conference Finals, the saloon promises that a real girl will talk to their patrons.

Toronto North Stars
[Image: Toronto.png]

Husqvarna
[Image: 220px-Husqvarna_logo.svg.png]

When John Deere isn't available or out of your price range, you get a Husqy.  Fairly good products in their own right, the company will award ten weed-eaters to the first ten contestants who can answer a Toronto North Stars trivia contest.  String will not be included unfortunately.

West Kendall Platoon
[Image: WestKendall.png]

Supercuts
[Image: 220px-Supercuts%2C_Miracle_Plaza%2C_Thom...hassee.JPG]

The hair salon franchise has partnered with the Platoon as they hope to grow their business and improve their reputation. They will offer free haircuts for a day if the Platoon go on a ten game winning streak.

Calgary Dragons
[Image: SHL-Dragons-Banner.png]

Myspace
[Image: 240px-Myspacelogo2013.svg.png]

Myspace have been struggling since Facebook took over the scene but they are trying to get back in the sports game by catering to fans.  It will be like Facebook but for sports fans.  They assure us that you will be able to have your playlists on your page.  Time to brush up on your HTML.  Dragons fans will get a free account and will be immune to having their information sold to third parties.

Edmonton Blizzard
[Image: Edmonton.png]

Dairy Queen
[Image: 220px-Dairy_Queen_logo.svg.png]

The popular frozen treat and fast food chain played it safe and stuck with the Blizzard theme.  They promise free small Blizzards if Edmonton make the Challenge Cup Finals this season.

Los Angeles Panthers
[Image: LosAngeles.png]

Tinder
[Image: 220px-TinderLogo-2017.svg.png]

The "dating" app is partnering with the Panthers for this season.  The app has lost some of its luster thanks to all the sock puppet accounts and Russian bots trying to steal your data.  However, they have a brand new version being released soon and guarantee at least one satisfactory match per Panther fan.  "Seriously, if we have to pay a bunch of hookers for an hour we will do it."

Minnesota Chiefs
[Image: Minnesota.png]

Red Man
[Image: 220px-RMMS-Logo.png]

We were surprised that the league allowed tobacco sponsors but this was an easy match.  The tobacco company will be providing free spittoons at the games all season in Minnesota.

New Orleans Specters
[Image: specters-banner.png]

Long John Silver's
[Image: 220px-Ljsilver_2012_logo.png]

This one doesn't make a lot of sense.  You're on the Gulf and a fast food seafood chain is your sponsor.  But they are offering free hush puppies every time the team scores four or more goals in a game.  Deal only good while supplies last.

San Francisco Pride
[Image: sfpride-banner.png]

Lion
[Image: 300px-Lion-Bar-Wrapper-Small.jpg]

Nestle is trying to make in-roads with the delicious chocolate bar in North America but so far they have had no success.  Pride fans who attend games will get one free bar per game all season.  I don't see this one being successful but we shall see.

Texas Renegades
[Image: Texas.png]

Whataburger
[Image: 190px-Whataburger_logo.svg.png]

Allegedly they are good.  I mean I have eaten them when I lived in Texas but I was never really blown away.  They don't hold up against Five Guys or In-N-Out but they are still okay.  The burger chain is offering a free meal to anyone wearing Renegade gear after they win three in a row.  Might be some hungry Renegades fans this season.

Winnipeg Jets
[Image: Winnipeg.png]

Jimmy John's
[Image: 220px-Jimmy_Johns_logo.svg.png]

The cold sub company prides itself on being fast and having fast delivery.  Now they want to bring that speed to the hockey rink.  Fans attending games can order a sandwich from their mobile device and the company guarantees delivery within five minutes.  Deal only valid through the second period.

Great article, West Kendall absolutely isn’t a Canadian team though

Two Florida teams, and neither is sponsored by Publix?  Hmm
Tampa would be the more likely team. The other is West Kendall, which is just north of Miami.

Also, I feel like Raising Cane's might be a good sponsor for NOLA.

Both are area-specific staples, kinda like Whataburger in Texas. Otherwise, you're pretty spot on. Great article.

There are some great ideas here.

These ones are good too.

"If the SHL were to do this, each team could have their own sponsor to help promote the league. For example, Edmonton could be sponsored by Dairy Queen and they could sell Edmonton Blizzards. Daniel has also come up with some other sponsorship ideas for the league such as the Buffalo Stampede who will be sponsored by Buffalo Wild Wings."

I guess great minds think alike? Hmm
