Manhattan Rage honor Hans with jersey retirement

The Manhattan Rage finished their celebration of their 50th season in retiring the jersey of the greatest goal scorer in Rage history – Harry Hans. The Rage honored Hans in a game against the San Francisco Pride, the team formerly known as the Portland Admirals who Hans won his first Challenge Cup against in S34 with the Rage. Hans becomes only the second player in franchise history to have their jersey retired.

Hans is known as the best pure sniper in Rage history, having scored 216 goals in his career for them, the only player currently to score over 200 for the franchise. He ended his career with the team with 464 points in 553 games, good for second all-time in points while being fourth in games played. His 34 game winning goals rank as the second most all-time as well. Beyond the scoring itself, his sheer volume was insane as he is the only player in Rage history to put up over 2000 shots in his career.

Hans wasn’t one for personal accolades, while accomplishing 25 goals in a season 4 times in his career between S34 and S38, his two Cup victories, he never managed to individually score to the point of winning an award for it.

Instead, Hans was a contributor in an all-around sense. In the playoffs, he ranks third in points with 48, including 19 goals tying him for second in franchise history, and 3 game winning goals. His 209 shots are the most in franchise history for a playoff performer.

Please join the Rage in thanking Harry Hans for his work with the Rage, in helping guide them to two Challenge Cups, and join them in honoring him as his name rises to the rafters for eternity.

@Harry Hans

This is the 50th season of the Manhattan Rage, and as such they are honoring many of their greatest players of all time. Keep an eye out as more retirements come along, as well as additional content.

An old man's dream ended. A young man's vision of the future opened wide. Young men have visions, old men have dreams. But the place for old men to dream is beside the fire.
