Chicago Syndicate
Like Minnesota they are also a weird team to judge. Sometimes making the playoffs, and sometimes missing the playoffs Chicago hasnt made it past the 1st round after the wild card round. But they have been getting better over time. They have a strong forward core, but I wouldnt call anyone there game breaking, just a lot of very good/elite players. On the defense they also have a youngish forward core(atleast the ones that high the higher amount of TPE), but I wouldnt call their defense core great either, just good enough to prevent goals. They also have a franchise goalie in Soonika so there are a lot of positives for Chicago as they are fighting with Hamilton and Buffalo in getting a playoff spot.
Elite S50: Velvera Akira Ren
The GM himself Velvera is first on his team’s prospect pool list. His player, Akira Ren is is a two-way defenseman from Japan, Ren Currently plays for the Newfoundland Berserkers and is having a great start of the season so far, getting 7 goals and 19 assists for 26 points in 25 games. Last season for Lethbridge, Ren had 39 points in 50 games, so he is projected to have over a PPG this season which is good for Newfoundland who is still searching for their 1st cup. We can do “in terms of the draft” because he was auto drafted/getting drafted like 69th or something like that, but for TPE he is at 777 TPE at the moment, which is good for 2nd in his class. For the user Velvera has been here for a long time, having one of the biggest banks in the SHL, its almost garunteed that he will make a great player just like Luke Atmey.
S50: Naosu Ryan Shepard
The 2nd person in the elite column is Ryan Shepard, a playmaking center from Canada, and is currently playing in the SMJHL for Kelowna. So far in S52 he has also done great like Ren, having 7 goals and 16 assists for 23 points in 25 games, leading Kelowna in points. In S51 he also led the Knights, with 41 points and playing heavy minutes on both special teams. In terms of the draft, he was drafted 5th OA to Chicago, and for TPE Shepard is at 763 TPE, which is good for 5th most in his class, so right where he should be and living up to the hype as a high draft pick. In terms of the user Naosu has been great for the site, creating some great media in the past, starting some AC, and it feels like you always see his profile pic around the site.
High End S51: KC15 Abel Skinner
Drafted last season, Skinner is a Offensive Defenseman coming over from the United Kingdom that is currently playing with the Halifax Raiders. This season he has been dominant for the Raiders, collecting 28 points in 25 games so far with the Raiders, and is actually leading the Raiders in points. With 10 of those points coming from the heavy power play minutes and penalty kill minutes this season so far. Last season Skinner had a great season too, with 11 goals and 30 assists for 41 points, also playing heavy special team minutes. For the draft, Skinner was taken at 3rd OA to Chicago, and for TPE he is at 519 which is good for 9th in the class at the moment. In terms of the user, KC15 comes over from PBE with knowledge of how sims and forums work, so that makes him a high value prospect to have, as they can bank off of his experience. He is a player update which helps with money and an all around good guy,
Very Good/Good S51: YMFG Luc-Pierre Lespineau-Lebrunette
Also drafted last season, Lebrunette is a Enforcer Defenseman from Canada who is currently playing for the St Louis Scarecrows. As an Enforcer, we dont really expect a ton of points, and that is true with Lebrunette, only have 6 points so far in S52, to go along with 79 PIM and 101 hits and 1 fight so far. Last season he had 11 points with 126 PIM, 116 Hits, and 2 fights, so he is looking deadlier on the ice. In terms of the draft, Lebrunette was drafted 20th overall to Chicago, and for TPE Lebrunette is at 397 TPE, which is good for 21st for the draft. So he is right where he was expected to go for his player. In terms of the user, this is YMFG 2nd player, as his first one was the 4 time cup winner RIchard C Hololate who helped Calgary win a couple of those cups. We will see where his new player takes him, and with the FHM change a more aggressive defenseman will be a bit more viable.
Good S52: Wistonbock Sergei Potvinov
Just drafted this past offseason, Potvinov is a goalie from Russia that is currently on the Anchorage Armada. A backup goalie last season, Potvinov only seen 11 starts going 2-7-1 with a .839 SV% and 4.77 GAA which is really bad. This season through 11 games he has went 5-3-1 with a .882 SV% and 3.24 GAA, a much better improvement than last season. In terms of the draft, Potvinov went 27th OA, and in terms of TPE he is at 268 which is good for 27th in the class. In terms of the user I’d admit that im not really seen or heard about Wistonbock, though he has done PGS and has actually dont some good media articles so if he can continue with that and earn more TPE then he will be a steal for Chicago. Maybe a late bloomer and will turn out fine, next season will tell.
Bust
S50: Patey Johnny Patey
The 42nd OA in the S50 draft, Patey hasnt updated since October, so yeah, busted out.
